Hi there,

My name is Leigh Anderson and welcome.

This is a gentle guided meditation for kids.

Letting go and feeling good.

So this special time is just for you.

A time to relax,

To feel calm and to remember how amazing you truly are.

You don't need to be perfect,

You just need to be you and that is more than enough.

So let's get comfy.

You can sit on the floor on a cushion or lie down somewhere cozy.

You can let your hands rest wherever they feel happy,

Maybe on your belly or by your side or in your lap.

When you're ready,

Gently close your eyes or look softly at one spot.

Let's take in a deep big breath in and hold it and now let it out like a slow gentle sigh.

Let's do that again.

Big breath in and a long breath out.

Now imagine your breath is like an ocean wave.

It's moving in and out,

Slow and calm,

In and out,

Just like the ocean.

As you breathe,

Imagine your body getting softer,

Your shoulders relax,

Your arms relax and your legs relax.

Now picture a big beautiful balloon.

You can let it be any color you like,

Maybe it's even got pictures and prints on it.

But this balloon can carry away anything that feels heavy or hard today.

So maybe there's a worry,

A mistake or something that made you feel sad.

Just take a moment now to think of anything you'd like to let go of.

You don't need to say it out loud,

Just remember it,

Just think about it.

And now take a deep breath in and as you breathe out,

Imagine putting that feeling into the balloon.

Watch the balloon rise up now into the sky,

Higher and higher until it floats far,

Far away.

It's gone and you feel a little lighter now,

A little brighter.

And now let's fill your heart with something good.

Take a moment to think of something that makes you happy.

It could be a pet,

A friend,

A favorite toy or anything,

Any fun memory.

And let that happy feeling grow big and warm inside your chest.

Smile if you feel like it.

You are safe,

You are strong and you are loved.

Now gently say these words to yourself in your mind or out loud.

I am calm.

I am kind.

I believe in myself.

Even when I make a mistake,

I can try again.

Mistakes help me learn.

Every day is a new chance to begin.

Take one more big deep breath in and let it go with a sigh.

Gently wriggle your fingers,

Wriggle your toes.

You can stretch out your arms if you like.

And if you're feeling ready,

Slowly open your eyes.

You did a great job.

You can take this calm,

Happy feeling with you today.

And remember,

You can always come back to it anytime you like.

Thank you for being here.

Thank you for being you.
