Hello and welcome to this guided meditation practice.

This practice is a short meditation practice based around self-compassion and it's designed to give you some time and space to show yourself some care.

So wherever you are allowing yourself to get comfortable,

Taking in a slow deep breath,

Allowing it to fill your body and then slowly releasing your breath.

Breathing now at your normal pace and rhythm and if it feels right for you just gently closing your eyes or lower your gaze and as you rest here now with me in this moment bring into mind the immense care and effort that you give to others.

You show up,

You listen,

You support day after day and yet in the quiet moments doubt or guilt may arise,

Whispering to you that you could have done more.

So taking in a deep breath and then releasing,

Relaxing your body as you breathe out and placing one hand over your heart,

Feeling the connection between your hand and your body,

Feeling the warmth and this small moment as you offer yourself the same kindness that you so freely give to others.

Silently in your mind repeat these words to yourself.

I am human,

I care deeply and that is enough.

I cannot take away all suffering but I can offer presence and compassion.

I am doing my best.

Taking a slow deep breath in and again as you release the breath relax your body.

Now that you are not alone in this work that you do.

You're part of a circle,

A circle of care,

A web of compassion.

With your next breath allowing yourself to rest in the truth that you are enough just as you are.

You're only human and you're doing your best.

And so bringing this short practice to a close you can choose to sit here for a while longer connecting to this present moment to yourself,

To your courage or you can choose to end this meditation here.

Whichever way you just do whatever feels right for you.

So we at the Ellie's Gift Project are sending you all our love and thanks.

We truly are grateful for all you do.

For bereaved parents like us sending all our love.

You take care.
