My name is Lucy and I'm here today to guide you through this practice,

Which is a short practice to be listened to when your work feels heavy.

This meditation is designed to remind you of your strength and the difference you make,

Even when it feels like no one is listening or the weight of your role is immense.

So,

Finding somewhere comfortable to sit or stand and allowing your eyes to close,

Softening your gaze.

Taking a deep breath in through your nose and holding it for a moment and then breathing out of your mouth.

And just repeating this two more times,

So breathing deep into your body through your nose,

Holding,

Releasing fully through your mouth and again deep into your body and releasing the breath out of your mouth.

Allowing your breathing to return to your own pace and rhythm.

And then getting a sense of the surface beneath or behind or below the body.

So if you're in a seated position,

Then noticing the chair behind you and beneath you and the sensations there as your body rests on this surface.

Or if you're standing today,

Notice the connection between your feet and the ground beneath them.

Feeling held and supported by the earth in this moment now.

So acknowledging the weight of your role,

Silently in your mind repeating after me,

This work is hard.

There are barriers and it feels heavy sometimes.

So just allowing yourself to honour the truth of how you feel without judgement.

You're human and it's okay to feel the strain.

Gently reminding yourself that even in difficulty,

You are doing your best.

Taking another deep breath in and as you breathe deep into your body,

Breathing out allowing your shoulders to relax.

So if it feels okay to do so,

I'd like to also invite you to place one hand on your heart space and reflect on your reason for doing this work.

Silently in your mind saying to yourself,

Even when I don't feel heard,

I know that my care matters.

Even when my impact feels small,

I trust that it ripples out in ways I may never see.

And imagining now even the smallest acts of kindness that you've offered,

A word,

A gesture or a quiet presence.

Imagining that rippling outward now like a stone being dropped into water,

Touching others in ways beyond your understanding.

With each breath in,

Silently repeating to yourself,

I came here to make a difference,

No matter how small.

And I'm strong enough to carry this purpose,

Even when it feels heavy.

Feeling the warmth of your intention now glowing within you,

Steady and unshakable,

Even in the face of challenges.

And taking a final deep breath in now filling yourself with a sense of calm,

Ease and clarity.

And as you breathe out,

Letting go of any doubts or heaviness for now.

Silently in your mind say I am here and what I do matters.

And if your eyes have been closed today,

Gently opening your eyes or lifting your gaze now and carrying this sense of renewed purpose into the rest of your day.

I'd like to send all my love to you,

Whoever you are,

Wherever you are in the world.

And to know that even in the toughest moments,

Your work creates meaningful ripples.

You may not always see the impact,

But it's real,

And it matters.

So from one bereaved parents to another human being,

Thank you so much.

You're a light in the dark for many.

Sending all my love,

You take care.
