Hello and welcome to today's meditation.
Thank you for joining.
Today we are going to do the second part of the three parts of the basics.
The basics to understand what is meditation,
To understand what is the mind.
Now today the second part is dedicated towards attachment,
Attachment created by the mind.
I believe there is no chance in life.
So if you chose this meditation,
There is probably a reason behind it.
Now let's start.
Sitting down,
Cross-legged position.
Or in any sitting posture that suits you.
Any sitting posture that suits you.
If it's too complicated,
You can also sit down on a chair.
The only requirement is that you don't touch the back of the chair with your back.
Or if you are sitting down,
Cross-legged position or on the floor,
Don't touch the wall with your back.
Keep it free.
Keeping the back straight,
Neck straight,
Mouth gently closed,
Eyes gently closed.
Placing the hands and arms wherever you want to.
When focusing your entire attention,
Entire attention on the normal breath as it is.
The normal breath as it is.
If it is long,
It is long.
If it is short,
It is short.
Passing through one nostril,
Then it's one nostril.
Passing through both the nostrils,
Then it's both the nostrils.
Just observing the natural breath as it is.
And calming down the mind.
Calming down the mind.
Keep on the entire attention,
Entire attention on the normal breath for a few seconds.
Now attachment is an attitude that clings to an object as the source of happiness.
Attachment is usually based on a superimposition or exaggeration of the positive qualities of a person,
Of a thing,
Of an object,
Of an idea,
Etc.
Attachment differs from positive aspiration.
For example,
Being attached to money is different from having a positive aspiration to learn the law of nature,
The Dharma.
Now focus on the breath.
Focus on the normal breath and try to reflect what things,
People,
Places,
Ideas,
Etc.
Are you attached to.
Try to find and make specific examples.
What things,
People,
Places,
Ideas,
Etc.
Are you attached to?
Now,
How does that person or thing appear to you?
How does it appear to you?
Does it really have all the qualities you perceive and attribute to it?
Do you develop unreal expectations of the person or thing,
Thinking that maybe it will always be there,
Maybe it will continuously make you happy,
Etc.
?
Try to see if you are developing unreal expectations of the person or thing.
Now,
How does your attachment make you act?
For example,
Do you maybe disregard your ethical standards to get what you are attached to?
Do you maybe get into dysfunctional relationships?
Do you maybe become manipulative or aggressive?
Try to reflect.
How does your attachment make you act?
Do you maybe become manipulative or aggressive?
Now,
Try to see attachment,
Not as a friend bringing you happiness,
But instead as a thief that is destroying your peace of mind.
Recognizing the disadvantages of attachment is going to help us letting go of it.
Try to see attachment,
Not as a friend bringing you happiness,
But instead as a thief destroying your peace of mind.
Now,
Try to see attachment,
Not as a friend bringing you happiness,
But instead as a thief destroying your peace of mind.
Now,
Try to see attachment,
Not as a friend bringing you happiness,
But instead as a thief destroying your peace of mind.
You can gently open the eyes,
Still focusing on the breath,
Feeling the body.
You can stretch out the legs if you need to.
Thank you very much for joining this meditation.
I wish you a good day or a good night.
Thank you again.
