Thanks for joining me today for an active grounding.
For today I'm going to ask that you have a yoga mat or a blanket and a pillow.
You may also want to get a blanket to get cozy.
You're going to need a pillow for underneath your knees and maybe one for under your head.
I'll give you a moment to grab these items.
Starting in a standing position,
Mountain pose at the top of your mat,
Grounding down into the earth with the four corners of your feet.
A slight bend in your knees with neutral spine,
Neutral pelvis,
Crown lifted,
Palms facing forward.
Breathing in and as you exhale,
Close your eyes.
Grab here with each inhale and exhale.
Starting at the top of your head,
Moving gently down your body,
Scanning,
Taking note of the sense of your groundedness,
Your quality of breath.
Do you feel strong and steady?
Is your body quivering or rocking?
Just allow for a gentle observation,
No judgments,
Simply uncovering.
And when you feel ready,
I'm going to have you bend your knees slightly,
Hinge at your hips and slowly dive forward with your arms gathering as you swan dive forward.
Getting your fingertips down as you come into a gentle squatting position.
Allowing a deep breathing.
Hanging and opening through your hips,
Your low back,
Hang your head,
Feel the space being created along your spine.
And maybe sway your hips from side to side to allow loosening.
A greater opening through your sacrum,
Your lumbar spine,
Your thoracic spine,
And your cervical spine dropping in.
And when you feel ready,
I'm going to have you drop back on your bum and rolling down onto your back,
Placing a pillow beneath your knees and maybe one under your head.
Just land here.
And after a little movement,
Maybe just feeling your breath settle.
Feel the earth beneath you.
Your heels.
The heaviness of your calves.
The length of your hamstrings.
Your back body represents the past.
It is a protective shield and a masculine energy that usually works overtime as we go about our daily lives.
It protects us from our environment.
Just surrender here.
Let go.
Relinquish.
Abandon.
And just give way to this time and space.
Feel your glutes sinking in,
Your sacrum.
Maybe allow a little clenching to allow your sacrum to lie flatter on the earth.
A little wiggle back and forth,
A little micro movement.
Feel your lower back unlock.
The softening of the fascia all across your low back.
Other side rips.
Your mid-back.
Maybe squeeze between your shoulder blades just to allow for an increased flattening of your shoulder blades onto the mat.
And don't hold here but just allow them to find a new space.
Now releasing through your upper back,
Your lower neck.
Surrender through the middle of your cervical spine.
Feel the base of your skull on your soft pillow.
Your lower back,
Your lower neck.
She provides us with a stable environment to thrive,
To ground into for protection.
She demands alignment,
Abundance.
She is our gateway to reality.
She is a creation of something tangible.
She insists that we stay in association with,
That we stay connected.
We are all a part of the earth that has risen to encourage,
Protect,
Grow,
Provide safety and nurture.
Just notice the heaviness of your head as it lays on the earth.
Sensing the letting go of your upper back.
Giving your lungs,
Your heart,
Your excessive fire over to something greater to be returned to you whole and healed.
Observe the unwinding of your mid-back,
Your ribs,
Your side body,
Feeling an expansion of your diaphragm as your lungs reach lower for greater amplification and inflation.
Your solar plexus is at rest here.
There is no need to control,
To act with will.
Simply surrender.
Breathing in and breathing out.
Your low back,
Your sacrum,
Your hips,
They all support you in an attempt to keep you in balance,
To keep you connected to our earth.
Feel that connection in your sacrum as it settles evenly into the ground.
That coherence between our body and our earth.
Breathing in and sigh it out.
Get heavy and rest.
You may notice thoughts coming in,
But just watch them float by.
This is your space right now just for you.
As you breathe,
Can you feel the vibration from the top of your head down your spine,
Across your hips,
Down the back of your legs,
Crossing the bottom of your feet to the tips of your toes?
Savor the sensation.
Stay here.
Unconsciously feel and watch and notice this oscillation washing down your entire back body and bathe yourself in this energy.
You have invited this in.
You've created this space.
You are unwinding.
Feel at home here.
Feel Mother Nature keeping you safe,
Recalibrating.
And I want you to look into your eyelids,
Bringing some awareness,
Noticing any colors,
Shapes,
Floating objects.
Maybe you see pictures,
Faces,
Not trying to recognize anything,
But just noticing.
Now taking a long,
Slow breath through your nose.
Breathing in the aroma of your surroundings.
And as you breathe,
Just watch the colors behind your eyelids shift.
Open your mouth and sigh out.
Wiggle your tongue back and forth,
Up and down.
Imagine what you hear in your environment right now.
Maybe birds outside your window,
Cars in the distance.
Really observe.
I want you to create some gentle movement in your body.
A little wave of your fingertips,
Your hands,
Your toes,
Your feet.
Swinging your knees from right to left.
Squeeze and release your glutes,
Your low back.
Pulling your shoulder blades together and allowing them to release.
Rolling your head from side to side.
Allowing a flow of movement.
Feeling that vibration throughout your entire body.
And allow that feeling to spread from your back to your front.
That sensation is available to you anytime.
You simply need to drop down and feel the earth beneath you.
I'm going to have you roll onto your side.
Whichever side you feel more pulled to.
Your right side is your yang side is more energy.
You may feel drawn to this side if you're feeling more energized today or if you're ready to get up and move.
Your left side is your yin side.
It is your quiet,
Internal side that may be desiring rest or a little more peace and quiet.
Whatever side you feel drawn to.
And slowly coming up onto your bum,
Pushing yourself up into a squatting position at the top of your mat.
And noticing any changes in your knees.
How about your hips?
Do they feel a little more fluid?
Do you have a little more range in your low back?
Does your spine feel less rigid?
A little more freedom through your neck.
And placing your fingertips gently on the earth,
Rolling yourself back up to a standing position.
Keeping your eyes closed.
Palms forward.
The four corners of your feet planted.
Shoulders back.
Crown lifted.
Standing in your strength.
Your connectedness.
Your groundedness.
Taking a deep breath in through your nose and out through your mouth.
I want you to delicately open your eyes.
Seeing any change in color,
Vibrancy.
Does your world look different to you now?
Looking around to see what's shifted,
What's changed.
Scanning your body.
Scanning your surroundings.
And I want you to wrap your arms around your back.
Giving yourself a big squeeze.
Smiling.
And feeling the abundance of your surroundings.
The gratitude for this moment.
Have a wonderful day and thank you for joining me.
