I just want to take a few moments to share with you my experience with not listening.

Not listening to my heart,

To my thoughts,

Staying shallow,

Not allowing myself to go deep as I stay in a protective mode.

This can be one of the greatest challenges,

To not allow ourselves to sink into the moments,

The challenges,

When we are right in the center of them.

When your heart feels heavy.

When I need space and I don't give myself the opportunity.

When the only thing that I need is to be alone.

I feel like a balloon ready to burst.

And I'm finding as we burst and emerge from this isolation of the last few months,

It's challenging to be prepared for that because you don't know what's coming your way.

There's been a lot of emotion,

A lot of experience,

And everyone has experienced this very differently.

A lot of people have taken the opportunity to dive deep and to make some great spiritual changes to learn,

To really dig in.

Many people have been suffocated by fear and that continues to be a pattern that they've decided to stay in.

But none of us have experienced this as normal.

But I do feel that it has given us the opportunity for a great rest within the experience of social norms or the expectation of social norms.

And this was my first week back to work and I was very,

Very happy to be seeing everyone.

But it has been a challenge.

It has been a challenge as my body tightens back up to the physical work of molding myself into what other people physically need from me.

So when I'm not listening to my heart,

My body rapidly responds.

When my stomach feels upset,

I am not listening to my heart.

When my head feels like a dandelion,

Ready to pop off of its stem,

I am not listening to my heart.

When my breath is shallow and my limbs feel heavy,

I am not listening to my heart.

When my thoughts are small and my voice is tight,

I am not listening to my heart.

When I am skimming the surface and watching the leaves bloom,

Not deeply experiencing that change,

I am not listening to my heart.

When I cannot absorb the daily beauty around me to great depths,

I am not listening to my heart.

I am not paying attention.

I'm not allowing the coherence.

When I continue to choose to ignore the simple things,

The simple beauties,

I am not listening.

So today,

I am filling my vase with dandelions and clover and wild daisies.

I am listening to the wings of the birds.

I am gazing deeply between the ripples of the waves.

I am seeing that the maple trees are laden with a beautiful umbrella of luscious green leaves.

I am allowing my head to be heavy,

Feeling the discomfort in between my shoulders.

I am listening to the wings of the birds.

I will sit until the length of my breath increases.

I will sit until the sun reaches my soul.

I will sit in this discomfort and allow myself to be nourished.

I will allow the space that my heart needs to regulate as we find our new space in the world.

I will look for opportunities to gaze into the beauty of today.

I will breathe deep.

Allow my thoughts to soften.

Allow my heart to open.

I beg you to join me in that journey.

I beg you to gaze into the unknown.

Have a beautiful day today.
