Once upon a time there was a boy named Jack and he lived with his mum on a farm and this farm only had one animal Daisy the cow.
Her and Jack were best friends.
Let's go meet Jack's mum.
Jack!
Jack!
Where is that boy?
Jack!
Jack!
Where is that boy?
Jack!
Oh I can't see him anywhere.
Oh hello there adventure tellers.
Sorry I didn't see you there.
I was consumed with trying to find my son Jack.
Yes he's probably somewhere out there on the field with his beloved cow Daisy.
Oh I've got some bad news to tell him.
Well we've got no food again tonight.
And I'm tired.
I'm tired of just living off water.
And the eggs that good old chicken may lay for us.
So we're going to have to sell Daisy.
Oh I know I know I know.
There's nothing I can do.
I've got to eat.
Jack!
Jack!
Jack I need you here.
Jack if you can hear me,
Which I know you can,
I need you to take Daisy,
That's right Daisy to the market.
You're going to have to sell her.
You're going to have to sell her.
And get the money.
And I promise get some good money for her.
And I promise one day we might get to buy her back.
I hope so.
Please Jack you can hear me.
Go and do that for me now.
Before it gets too dark.
And before I change my mind.
It wasn't easy you know.
We do love our Daisy ever so much.
But she doesn't even produce any milk anymore.
Not even chocolate milk or pink milk or lovely milk that we used to be able to churn up and turn into butter.
Go on Jack go on.
Oh I can see you there.
You can hear me.
Go on Jack.
Go on my precious boy.
Take Daisy to the market.
And I promise you,
I promise you one day when we're rich we can buy her back.
So Jack took Daisy off to the market to sell her.
He's really sad to be selling her.
I'm sorry Daisy.
Mum says I have to sell you at the market.
Well here we are.
Hopefully nobody wants to.
Oh nobody wants to then that's good for us Daisy.
I don't want to part with you.
I love you so much.
Oh I'm a funny looking man walking this way.
With a cloak.
Oh he's trying to talk to me Daisy.
What shall I do?
Shall I ignore him?
No.
Mum will be so upset if I ignore him.
He might have some money.
Daisy if he's got money and he wants to buy you I promise you I'll do anything and everything I can to get you back.
You're my best friend Daisy.
You've been there for me thick and thin.
Oh Daisy here he comes.
He looks pretty keen.
To be fair at last at least someone can see your potential like I do.
An old man came up to Jack and offered him three magic beans.
There you are Jack.
Three beans.
Three magical beans.
Take that home to your mother and she'll be proud of you.
I don't know if she will.
Beans children.
Green beans.
I don't like vegetables.
I don't like vegetables at all.
No these are magic beans son.
Ok take them home to your mother and she will be proud of you.
We'll see.
That's great.
Plant them as soon as you get home.
Alright plant them I'll do that.
And I promise you money does grow on trees.
Money grows on trees?
Great.
And you think when that money grows I can buy my Daisy back?
You can buy your Daisy back.
Absolutely.
I'll take good care of your Daisy.
Thank you.
Right better go home.
Better go home and show these to Mum.
Magic beans.
We're rich.
Jack ran all the way home holding the three beans really tightly so he would not drop them and when he got back he showed them to his Mum.
I'm not sure his Mum will be very happy with these beans.
Oh is that my Jack?
Yes he's coming up the bray.
Jack.
Jack what have you got me?
Oh let me have a look.
Let me have a look.
Beans.
Beans.
You sold Daisy the Clown for three measly beans?
Oh Jack what good is three beans?
Magic beans?
Oh dear you are such a foolhardy boy.
You're so gullible.
Three magic beans?
Oh you must be putting me an April Fool.
That's right this is an April Fool isn't it?
Come on give me the money.
Yes.
It's not.
It's not.
You young man can go straight to bed.
Aren't you go?
And I'm going to throw these beans out the window.
I've got the right mind to throw you out the window as well Jack.
Go on onto bed.
Right I'm going to throw these beans as far away from our little cottage as I can.
Oh one.
Good.
Two.
No it landed.
And the last one.
Good riddance.
Three.
Right no supper for you.
No supper for you Jack no.
Well it's no supper for me either because we haven't got any food.
Jack went off to bed without any dinner feeling very sad but when he woke up in the morning he opened his curtains and there in the field was a huge beanstalk stretching all the way to the sky.
Jack he decided he was going to climb it.
Wow what a huge beanstalk.
I'm going to climb right up it and I'm going to prove to mum,
Prove to mum yeah that it's magic and that our fortune's at the top of this beanstalk.
Come on everybody climb with me.
That's right hold on to the leaves pull yourself up.
Oh goodness me I'm getting really high up here.
Wow I can see all the little cottages down below.
They just look like toys there.
Tying models.
Yeah toy model.
Village.
Come on up we go.
Brilliant.
Yeah.
Oh into the clouds.
Alright.
Oh look at that palace.
I think I can hear some money.
Some money being counted.
Right if I could just get that money and put it into my sack and then get down this beanstalk before whoever's counting it catches me.
Okay I'll just walk along here down towards the castle and I'll look through this window.
A big giant.
A huge giant.
All those 50 pound notes and all that cash.
I know I'll wait till he falls asleep and then I'll go in and I'll get that money.
Three five four thumb.
I've got loads of money.
I'm the big giant up here in the castle.
Yeah I've got loads of money.
Look at that.
I've been counting my money all day.
Yeah all day.
I think it's time I took myself for a little nap.
Maybe you adventure tellers could keep an eye on this cash.
Make sure nobody takes it.
Yeah I'll sleep with my eyes open.
Look at the adventure tellers.
I'll actually get in and take all the cash.
There we are.
I'll put it into my satchel and I better get down before that big old hairy giant wakes up.
Help me.
Let's go.
All the way down.
All the way down.
Mum,
Mum,
You never guess what I've got.
Mum,
Mum.
Jack has gotten to the bottom of the bean store and run to his mum with all the money he stole from the castle.
But the giant he's woken up and I think he knows that some of his money is missing.
Three five four thumb.
I smell the blood of an Englishman.
He be thieving my gold.
Yes.
If I catch him up here I will have him for breakfast.
I'll also have him for lunch.
Probably have him also for dinner and very likely I'll have him as a cup of tea or like a biscuit with it.
Anyway sir,
I digress.
If you see him adventure tellers you better tell me because otherwise there's going to be trouble for not just this Englishman but for all of you.
Right let me see.
Let me go find my chicken.
Yes see if it's laid any golden eggs for me.
I love my chicken.
Yes that will cheer me up.
Jack!
My eyes are watering.
Wow look at all the money you brought down from that bean store.
I'm so sorry I doubted you Jack.
Oh you've got fifty pan notes in there.
Oh brilliant.
And a five.
And some fifty peas.
Lovely hectic shaped fifty peas.
That's great Jack.
We can use those to buy or sell something really lovely from the co-op.
Great.
And some twenty peas.
Twenty pea hectic shaped as well.
Oh Jack.
We've got some circles in here.
We've got some ten peas.
Brilliant.
Oh we've got pounds.
Look at these beautiful circular pounds.
Oh Jack.
Jack we're rich.
We're rich.
Oh I can go get me hair done.
I'll be great.
And maybe I can get me voice sorted.
Yeah yeah.
I'd love to have a nice posh forest to go with all me money.
What's that Jack?
You want to go up again?
That beanstalk?
Are you sure?
I thought you said there were giants up there.
Oh we don't want to get the wrong side of a giant.
You're not scared?
Oh Jack.
OK you can go one more time up that beanstalk.
But please if it feels risky you just come straight back down all right?
We've got more than enough here.
We don't want to get greedy.
You can definitely buy your beloved Daisy back with this.
And we'll have some left over.
Yeah loads left over for the co-op.
All right then Jack.
But get back.
I'm only going to give you an hour.
Off you go.
Oh don't worry Mum.
I won't be long.
Yeah I'll be an hour.
I promise.
I just think there's more wonders up there.
There's more things.
More jewels maybe.
Yeah more jewels and gems.
And mystical things.
Yeah.
Come on.
Let's climb again.
Let's climb.
Climb.
All the way up.
Rind your feet through the clouds and jump right up to the top of the beanstalk.
And here we are.
Back at the palace.
Oh what's the giant got today?
Oh here's my chicken.
Ah yes.
Hello there chicken.
I want three golden eggs from you.
What do you mean I'm not very nice to you?
So you won't lay any eggs until I'm nice to you?
I don't have to be nice to you.
You just have to lay me eggs.
What do you mean if you're not a happy chicken then you're not going to lay any eggs?
Listen if you don't give me three golden eggs by this afternoon I'm going to have roasted chicken for my dinner.
You'll be warned.
Look.
Oh wow.
He's got a chicken.
Hello.
Oh but this is a magical chicken because this chicken lays golden eggs.
Do you like living up here with the giant?
You don't.
Well you can come and live with me and mum.
We'll take good care of you.
Come on.
Jump onto my satchel and let's start going down.
Quick.
All the way back down the beanstalk before he sees that you've gone.
Jack goes down the beanstalk with the chicken that lays golden eggs but I think the giant has realised his chicken is missing.
The five golden eggs are full.
Oh you lot.
Where's my chicken gone?
I smell this Englishman again.
This scallywag.
This Englishman.
He has taken my chicken.
Where is he?
Let me look all around my castle.
Let me look outside on my cloud.
What's this?
Leaves?
A beanstalk.
This is his way up.
Well if I catch him coming up that beanstalk again I'm going to gobble him up.
Yes.
Fee fo fo fo.
Mum you down there.
You come up here you'll end up in my tongue.
That's told him.
Right.
I'll let that chicken go.
And I'll go and listen to my harp.
Yes my lovely harp.
That will calm me down.
That will soothe me.
Yes.
Here mum.
Look what I've got you.
I've got you a chicken.
But not any kind of chicken.
Not a regular chicken.
Not a free range chicken.
A magical chicken.
Yes.
You take a hold of this mum.
Yes.
You hold her tight.
You look after her and she might just lay you something really beautiful.
Yes.
She might just lay you some golden eggs.
What's that you've got there?
Look at you.
Aren't you delightful.
Oh.
Oh.
Check.
Oh so gorgeous.
Oh.
Oh.
Is she alright?
Is she okay?
Oh she's laid an egg.
Goodness me.
She's really pushing.
Look.
She's laid three golden eggs.
Oh my goodness Jack.
They're so beautiful.
Oh I can see why you went back up there.
Beanstalk to bring this gorgeous little chick back with you.
Oh.
We can definitely keep her Jack.
Oh yes.
Oh golden eggs.
Golden eggs.
We can have golden omelettes.
Golden scrambled eggs.
Oh I should probably not talk about what we're going to make with your eggs in front of you.
How very rude of me.
Yes we'll just let you sit on your eggs.
There we go.
You just sit on your eggs.
Oh you keep them warm.
Yes.
Oh.
Jack where are you going?
Jack.
What are you doing?
Go back up the beanstalk.
No Jack.
Jack the giant will know now that you've got all his money.
Yeah.
You've got this beloved chick in you.
Oh no.
We don't think you should go back up.
Oh no he's not listening to me.
What are you saying?
You're going to go one more time.
He's gone.
Oh Jack.
I think you're pushing it.
Oh what else could he possibly get?
I mean golden eggs and all that money.
Oh children I think sometimes we should just be happy with what we've got.
Yeah he might upset that giant.
But he's so willful.
He's so stubborn.
I've got no idea where he would have got that from.
Jack.
I'll give you one more hour.
Yes.
And then you've got to come down.
Yeah.
We're having boiled eggs for tea.
Sorry.
Even though Jack has taken a chicken that lays golden eggs and money from the giant he still thinks he should go up one more time and see if there's anything else he can take.
I think we should go back up there one more time kids.
Yeah.
I think we can do one more job.
I'm sure he's got something else.
Something else magical and mystical and wonderful for us to pinch.
Yeah.
He's just a mean old giant.
That chicken.
He didn't even want to live there with him.
I'm sure there's other things up there that we could do with being living down here with me and mum.
We'll take good care of them.
Yeah.
One more time.
I haven't told mum though this time that I'm going up.
Oh no she's seen me.
Oh she's asking me.
No she's telling me we're going to have boiled eggs for tea.
Golden boiled eggs.
Right come on.
We won't be long.
I promise.
We've got to get to the top.
Top of this beanstalk and get one more.
One more kill.
One more check.
Something musical maybe this time.
Something.
Something to play music to us on a night.
Yeah.
Children look.
Look we're back here at the castle.
Let's look into the window.
Oh oh oh yeah beautiful music.
Oh a singing harp.
Oh I so want that.
Oh there you are my beautiful harp.
Play for me.
Play play for me.
Oh that's made me feel so much better.
Oh I think I can just go and have a rest in my bedroom and listen to you from upstairs.
Beautiful harp.
Oh how I love you.
Right the giant he's left the room.
If we just open the window come on push the window open.
That's it up we go.
Hey you.
You know you hold the window.
That's right you hold the window up.
That's it strong arms.
And I'll reach in.
That's it and I'm going to get the harp.
Great.
Oh no the giant see me.
Quick quick pull pull.
Harp Harp Harp Harp where are you?
Harp Harp Harp Harp where are you?
Harp Harp Harp Harp Harp Harp where are you?
Harp Harp Harp Harp Harp Harp Harp where are you?
Harp Harp Harp.
See five folks sun.
Oh wow.
Oh look at the There goes my heart by that stealing tom.
It's not tom is it?
Oh well,
Where's his name?
Tack is it?
Oh!
Right,
I'm gonna go to that beanstalk.
Here I go.
Children,
We've got the heart.
But the heart keeps singing to its owner,
The giant.
I promise you heart,
If you live with me,
You'll have a much better life than that giant.
It doesn't believe me!
Right,
Come on everybody.
Let's get down this beanstalk and we promise never to come back up here again.
Yeah,
Oh,
Because the giant,
He's running out of his castle heading towards us.
Quick!
Oh!
And he's saying he wants to drink my blood.
Oh,
I don't have very nice blood.
It's horrible.
Not that I think he's listening to me.
Quick!
Down the beanstalk!
Beep,
Bop,
Bop,
Bop.
Watch out,
Here I come.
Watch out,
Here I come.
Watch out,
Here I come.
Beep,
Bop,
Bop,
Bop.
Watch out,
Here I come.
I'll get my heart,
I'll get my chicken and all my money.
And then I'll eat you all.
Yeah.
Along with Daisy the cow,
There,
Ha!
What do you mean I know her name?
All cows are called Daisy,
Aren't they?
Oh,
They're not,
Are they?
That's a nice name.
What else?
Oh,
That's a bluebell.
That's a nice one as well.
Yeah,
OK.
Any other names?
You got any other names?
Oh,
What am I doing?
What am I doing?
You lot did that on purpose.
You did that on purpose,
Didn't you?
Distract me.
No!
I won't be distracted.
I'm going to come down this beanstalk and I'm going to get you,
Jack.
It's Jack,
Isn't it?
Did you say it was Jack?
It's not a song.
Oh,
Right.
Here I come.
Down the beanstalk.
Down the beanstalk.
Oh,
What's happening here?
Oh,
I can hear chopping.
What?
Oh!
As the giant starts down the beanstalk,
Jack has just reached the bottom and him and his mum,
They grab an axe and they start chopping at the beanstalk.
Can you help them,
Everybody?
Chop,
Chop,
Chop!
And the beanstalk,
It starts to shake.
The beanstalk is being chopped up.
I'm going to climb back up.
I'm going to climb back up.
Oh!
Oh!
And the beanstalk has crashed down.
Well,
That means I'm safe up here and you're never going to be able to come back up again.
What's happening?
You don't want to?
Oh,
Fine.
Well,
Chosen,
I am very pleased that I was not on that beanstalk.
Otherwise I would have had a very bad injury.
And I don't fancy going off to hospital today.
No.
I think I'll just stay up here on my fluffy cloud.
Yeah.
Oh,
I can get more money,
I'm sure.
And I can get myself another chicken.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Enjoy it,
Jack.
Yeah,
You enjoy that.
You have it.
And for me,
Well,
I'll just have a nice simple life up here.
Yeah.
I didn't like that harp anyway.
I didn't like the tunes.
No.
No.
Yeah,
That chicken was a nightmare.
Yeah.
And all money,
You know,
Money can't buy you happiness.
Yeah.
Oh.
See you later,
Kids.
Bye.
Look,
Adventure Tellers,
I've got Daisy the cow back.
Oh,
Yeah.
Mum went to the market and she gave some of the money over to the wizard.
And you know what?
I think I'll go and take one of these lovely golden eggs to that wizard as well.
Because without him,
Our fortunes would never have changed.
Yeah.
Oh,
We've got our harp,
We've got our chicken,
We've got Daisy and we've got our three eggs.
I think we should give one of these eggs for sure away to that wizard.
Yeah.
So if I take away one egg,
I'm left with two,
Which is plenty.
Actually,
I could give all these eggs away because this chicken's here to stay,
Aren't you,
My darling?
Yeah.
And you're going to be laying eggs every day now.
Oh,
Well,
If you fancy.
Oh,
Children,
Thanks for all your help.
Oh,
I've learnt a lesson,
Though.
I shouldn't be too greedy.
Happy with what I've got.
Yeah.
Bye for now.
Thank you for joining us,
Everybody.
That's the story of Jack and the Beanstalk.
See you next time.
Bye.
