The ground is solid below your feet,
With only a slight remanence of dirt hitching onto your heels and toes to come along for the ride.
You're grateful for how this is bringing you so much closer to Mother Nature.
One with the land,
One with the trees,
One with the sky.
You begin to walk,
Slowly,

And without a care in the world.
As you continue to walk,
You feel a light,
Gentle breeze wisp around you,
Passing between your legs,

Around your arms,

It caresses you and you feel safe.
As if the motion of the wind is cradling you and carrying you to your destination.
As the wind touches your nose,
You catch the scent of grass,

This scent lifts up the corners of your mouth,

You look up to the sky as you walk,
Clear and light blue,
With only a small fluff of cloud floating on its own.
Feeling the spaciousness of the sky.
The sun sits high above you,
Boasting a bright shining yellow.
Its rays of light dancing in a circle around it.
Twinkling like the abundant star that it is.
And as you acknowledge the sun,
It lays a calming blanket of warmth upon you.
Feeling this energetic light all across your skin,
Smiling as it kisses your cheeks and nose,
Perfectly warm.
There are strong,
Mature,
Luscious trees everywhere to be seen.
Green grass,
Full shrubbery,
And colorful flowers cover the ground around your pathway.
Delicate butterflies and singing birds gracefully flutter and soar high above and far in front of you.
Listen to the birds sing.
They are singing to you.
What song do they sing?
As the joyful melody lays upon your ears,
Your heart opens up and joins in on the song.
Your soul begins to dance.
As you've traveled far along your dirt path,
You now approach a long,
Clean,
Sandy beach,
Secluded and untouched.
The contrast of the white sand against the blue water brings pleasure to your visual senses.
You step down onto the beach.
The sand is warm and soft.
You press the balls of your feet down into the sand.
And you can feel the tiny grains come up through your toes and around your feet.
You can feel a noticeable difference in the air as you come onto the beach.
The breeze has calmed.
The temperature has become warmer.
You can see,
Feel and hear the spaciousness around you.
This is your beach.
You are the only one that exists here.
Staring off at the horizon,
You feel at peace.
Among the peaceful quietness,
You can hear the water call to you.
You respond.
And begin to move toward the water,
Step by step,
Each step sinking slightly into the sand.
Until you come so close that the sand becomes more consistent and you can feel the wetness underneath your feet.
Like a ballerina beginning a grand performance,
Without hesitation,
You gracefully guide your first foot into the water.
The water is pleasant,
Just slightly warmer than room temperature.
It is as comforting as bath water.
Your other foot follows.
You continue to walk into the water in a slow,
Patient and flowing fashion.
Although the temperature of the water is almost unnoticeable,
The surface of the water rises as you move forward.
A liquid hug,
Wrapping around you,
A way in which mother nature says,
I love you.
Looking off into the sunset,
Everything feels calm,
From the glass-like top of the water to the absence of any wind.
You can just barely see the silhouettes of trees off in the distance,
The calming shadows of plant life standing attentive on the shoreline across the lake.
You can smell the pine,
The dewy grass and the freshness of the air.
The sun sets ahead of you,
Gently resting above the horizon.
As the sky begins to rest for the evening,
It releases a captivating array of beautiful colors,
Like an artistic watercolor painting.
You see layers of blue,
Purple,
Green,
Yellow and an abundance of cheery pink and orange.
The colors in the sky shrink and grow and blend slowly but continuously as the sun bends closer to the shoreline.
The colors reflect onto the water,
And you are witness to them shimmering and dancing on the wet glossy surface,
Existing in a pool of colorful magic and wonder.
Surrendering to the water,
You gently and slowly lean backward.
The lake reaches out and catches you with its buoyant surface.
The temperature of the air and the water are so much alike,
You'd be convinced you were floating in space.
Wet below you,
Dry above you,
Only the line in between to remind you where you exist in the middle.
You lay there,
Without any effort.
You exist without effort.
You feel joy without effort.
All you see is the colorful abyss above you,
So clear,
So simple,
So calming,
So peaceful.
Float in the water,
Look up at the sky.
You are free from doing anything in this moment.
You are free from thinking anything in this moment.
Just exist.
Simply live.
And enjoy this experience to your fullest ability.
Cradled in the arms of the water,
Blessed with this abundance of the sky.
Simply look up.
Breathe.
