
Meditation To Activate ‘Hope Molecules’
Did you know that our muscles manufacture hope molecules? These antidepressant hormones, chemicals, and proteins are good for brain health and can help make us resilient to stress and protect us from depression. This meditation will take you into a sacred communication with your muscles, thanking them for their work on your behalf and for the magic 'Hope Molecules' that they send to our brain.

Hello beautiful being,
It's Linda here and how are you on this gorgeous day?
I've just been listening to an interview of a lady called Alice Nichols,
Who I am now officially following,
And she was talking about things called hope molecules and I'm going to tell you some more about them while you get settled because what we're going to do today is talk to our muscles about these hope molecules.
So have you had water lately?
If you haven't,
Please stop the recording and just have a few sips to hydrate your body.
If it's hot that's easy to do but if it's cold I know make it a little warm or something.
Okay now it might be easier to do this lying down but if you're sitting or even just walking around you can intend all of this the same way.
I'm quite positive our bodies don't need to be completely still for meditations to be active on us.
So take a big deep in-breath and just let it leak out of your body.
Take another deep in-breath and again let it just leak out,
Leak out of your body,
Feeling yourself falling to relax after each big breath.
One more big deep in-breath,
Let it fall out.
While I'm explaining a little bit about what we're doing,
I want you just to keep taking breaths.
Intend that with each breath you breathe love in from the atmosphere and with each exhale you allow that love to fall into your body.
Breathing in love from the atmosphere,
Universal love that's floating around free,
Muscles.
Now stay in this beautiful space and I'll tell you this lovely information I just heard.
You see the information that I share with you,
The processes and the skills are usually gifted to me from source and every now and then I find that science comes along to say the same stuff in a science way and you can imagine that I'd feel really happy about science catching up with us.
And a beautiful friend sent me this as I said a lady Alice Nichols who was being interviewed and she said that scientists found that when you move your muscles in activity your muscles are manufacturing antidepressant molecules and the scientists called them hope molecules.
What happens is the molecules they're antidepressant hormones and chemicals and proteins that are good for brain health and what happens is they fall into your blood because that's what your muscles are doing as proteins that your blood can take up and carry up to your brain and they help make your brain resilient to stress and they protect you from depression and that just made me look and I thought if I pass this to you in a gentle relaxed meditative way in a way that you can talk to your muscles then this is going to be something that you hold in your system as part of you innate.
Your muscles are happy manufacturing antidepressant molecules and the only way to get them to your bloodstream so that they can travel to your brain is that you have to have contact with your muscles your muscles have to have activity and the activity dumps these hope molecules into your bloodstream when they get to work in your brain they work as an antidepressant and can help people recover from trauma.
I think all of us need happy brains I think all of us have hidden stresses and anxieties that just every now and then cause contraction and how we want to operate and so anything that can give us an expanse of brain and an expanse of heart and to help us to see the world with hope molecules attached it's got to be better hey got to be good for us.
So in this beautiful place of relaxation you don't have to see anything you can if you're visual but just feel down to your toes and your feet and just ever so slightly contract the muscles in your toes in the upper part of your foot move around even get your ankle muscles moving in this one and reach out and feel the muscles with love and allow with that love allow the muscles to know that you believe in them and that you love them and that you are thankful for them sending hope molecules up into your bloodstream and into your brain and next feel all of the big muscles in the back of your calves see if you can activate all of them all down the outsides the back the inside of your calf muscle the front of your leg all those little muscles down your shin and up to your knees clench your knees a little bit and then continue up and feel all the muscles just move them around and see how many that you can identify not by name just push them allow them to move and once again thank them thank them for their job in when they're contracted releasing these beautiful hope molecules into your bloodstream and up to your brain now let's look at your torso in one big place place and while you're lying or sitting or standing just feel your body doing a little hula hoop clench your hip muscles and your butt muscles you can even clench your pelvic muscles come up into your tummy your solar plexus through all the muscles that attach around your rib cage or all of the muscles on the inside that hold your organs in place all of the work they do there the muscles that attach your torso and your shoulder all together and hold you straight reach out to them with love and thank them for the work they do thank them for the contract they have with you for sharing hope molecules into your system with movement into your system with movement happy movement kind of we find the hula hoop type movement in slow motion works really well for this figure eight feeling now let's look at your arms as a whole the muscles that are in your fingers and in your hands think about the muscles feel feel the muscles as you move them in your wrist all of the things that enable your wrist to move as it does your forearms the muscles that help you lift and point move around and they hold everything to your elbow which has amazing flexibility up the big muscles of your upper arm all the muscles that hold onto your shoulder and stretch across the back and join everything up feel and acknowledge all of those muscles and thank them thank them for the work they do and for the movement activated contract they have with sending happy molecules into your blood and up into your brain and now let's look at your neck and head as a whole unit because your neck holds onto your head and the head's very heavy so the muscles get quite a lot of movement and they might not always consider that exercise so outside of what we're doing today finding gentle stretching exercises gentle being the operative word for your neck is an amazing thing to do for your whole system it's a very activating kind of thing to do muscles that are on the inside of your brain the muscles that run across your forehead all of your eye muscles that help your eye to see and move around and do things the muscles by your temples cheek jaw ears and inside the muscles that hold your brain safe these are all muscles that get used regularly in like a work day kind of way allowing them to rest and contract with love is a gift and thank them for the work they do for you and thank them for their joint effort with all the other muscles in producing happy molecules to feed your brain with happiness and love now just do a little scan through your body and feel the glow and the energy and the heat that you've activated in this moment begin a scan from the top of your head and scan all the way down your body and take that link that scan and that wonder all the way down zooming down to the center of earth to the information center where all knowledge is kept bring that energy all the way up scanning it through your body on the way back up until you get to the top of your head and it continues up to source you're fully energized now beautiful being it's probably time to come back to the here and now however big your connection has grown allow it to come back to its normal support structure it's activated and expanded the shape of it doesn't change that just thank your body for all it does for you in this journey here on earth this extra knowledge helps you work in partnership with it doesn't it okay okay now for real wake up your body stretch your shoulders a little maybe even open up your eyes it's a beautiful day whatever time of the day it is for you and sending you love over the airwaves take care gorgeous being see you next meditation bye
