Transcript
Hello,
And welcome to your breathwork experience.
Firstly,
I'd like to remind you that you are always in control,
And that if you're worried to come back to the present moment,
Using your breath by returning to a slow,
Deep nasal breath.
So closing your mouth and breathing in and out through the nose until you feel comfortable enough to come and join me again.
Also,
What to expect,
You might feel physically a dry mouth,
That's normal,
Tingles,
A need to move,
Numbness,
Temperature change.
So I invite you to grab some pillows to pop under your knees,
Help you with your back,
Or a blanket,
For sure a blanket,
Because you will feel chilly.
And emotionally,
You might feel a rising of emotional energy,
A buildup of tension within you,
Maybe you might cry,
Let it go,
Give yourself permission to feel,
Give yourself permission to move.
You'll also for sure meet the monkey mind,
Your meat resistance,
The inner critic,
And that's normal as well.
So as you progress through your journey,
You're going to allow your monkey brain to gently step away,
Because the rhythm of the breath allows that thinking brain to step back,
And your emotional limbic brain to kick in,
And your body to open up.
So for now,
I invite you to find somewhere comfortable to sit or to lie,
And just settle in.
And I invite you to gently place one hand on your belly,
And just to notice the rise and fall of your breath.
And if you feel comfortable,
Gently,
Softly close your eyes.
If you don't,
That's fine,
You can do it later.
And we'll begin to focus on our breath.
Inhaling,
Grounding deeply through the nose,
Drawing the breath all the way down into the belly,
And then guiding the breath into the ribs,
And finally up into the chest.
Feeling the expansion of each part beneath your hand,
And as you exhale,
Release the breath gently through the mouth,
From the heart space,
From the ribs,
From the belly.
No rush,
No force,
Just allowing the breath to flow naturally.
It might feel unfamiliar,
And that's okay.
Your mind starts chatting,
That's okay.
Just come back to your breath,
Come back to your body.
Inhaling through your nose,
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest.
And exhaling gently,
Letting go through your mouth,
Releasing any tension you may be holding.
And as you settle in,
I encourage you to find a rhythm of breathing that feels comfortable for you.
In through the nose,
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
And out through the mouth.
Let your breath guide you.
Now I'd like to invite you to allow each inhale to be a little fuller,
A little deeper than the one before.
And with each breath,
Imagine you're creating more space within yourself.
In through the nose,
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
And out through the mouth,
Softly releasing.
Notice the expansion with every breath,
Your belly rising with each inhale,
Your body softening with each exhale,
Creating space,
Creating space with each and every breath you take.
And I invite you to make a commitment to yourself here today,
A commitment to stay with your breath for the remainder of this journey,
Whatever it brings up.
To be present,
To meet any part of yourself that emerges with compassion and curiosity.
Welcome yourself in.
Welcome all of yourself in.
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
In through the nose,
Releasing through the mouth.
And I invite you to set an intention if you want to,
Always an invitation.
What would you like to take away from this session today?
What would you like to explore?
What would you like to let go of?
And let it settle,
Settle into you as you hold it in your heart for a little moment,
Breathing into it,
Letting it fill you,
And then gently release it.
Release it with the out breath.
And trust your breath will guide you to whatever you need today.
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
And let the breath fall away,
No forcing.
And when you feel ready,
We're going to shift our breath.
Gently open your mouth,
Nice and wide,
But not too wide,
Comfortable.
And start breathing in and out through an open,
Relaxed mouth,
Guiding the breath in,
And just simply letting the exhale fall away,
No forcing,
Just falling away.
Settle into that pattern of breath,
Drawing the breath in,
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
Up into your heart space,
And then just letting the breath fall away.
Keeping the mouth open,
And now removing any gaps or pauses between each inhale and each exhale.
The circle of breath,
Guiding the breath in,
Letting the breath fall away.
And if you feel dryness in your throat,
That's okay,
It's normal.
It'll pass if you stay with your breath.
Stay present with each inhale,
Stay present with each exhale,
No gaps,
No pauses.
A continuous breath,
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
Let the breath fall away.
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
Let the breath fall away.
As we move deeper into this journey,
I invite you to begin breathing 10% fuller,
Without any force or tension,
Open mouth,
No gaps,
No pauses,
Drawing the breath deep within you,
And then letting the breath fall away.
Just gently expanding your breath.
Use the breath to find spaces within your body,
Holding tension,
A heaviness.
Use the breath to explore,
Breathe into the belly,
Breathe into the back,
Breathe into the ribs,
The sides,
The chest,
Your arms,
Your legs.
Every breath in,
Send that breath where you want to.
Let the full power of your breath,
Awaken all these places,
And disentangle all the stuck emotions and all the energy within those emotions,
Kept there for so,
So long.
Each inhale,
An opportunity to create more space,
Each exhale as a chance to let go,
To release.
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
Let the breath fall away.
If you feel stuck in your head,
If your monkey mind is chattering,
That's okay,
Just come back to your body,
And tune into any sensations that are coming up for you now.
Notice what's happening in your body right now.
Stay with the breath,
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
Let the breath fall away,
No gaps,
No pauses,
Stay with the breath.
Tune into any sensations,
Perhaps tingling in your fingers or a shift in temperature.
Tune into them with a sense of curiosity,
Simply noticing them without needing to change anything.
You're perfect the way you are,
Just observing.
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
Every breath a little bit fuller,
A little bit more spacious than the one before.
And if I invite you to breathe into the strongest sensation you feel in your body right now,
Whether it's a tingle or tightness,
Breathe into it,
Guide your breath to it.
Equally,
If you feel any tension,
Allow your breath to flow into that tension,
Softening it,
Creating space,
Loosening it up.
And if you find heaviness anywhere in your body,
Breathe into that heaviness,
Creating space around it,
Allowing for the energy to release,
The stale stuck energy,
And then exhaling that stale stuck energy,
Making space for fresh new beginnings,
New chapters,
Truth and authenticity.
Stay deeply connected with your breath.
Breathing in,
Letting go,
No gaps,
No pauses,
Keep the flow,
A bit like a wave,
Coming up the shore,
And then leaving again.
A circular,
Beautiful circular movement.
Breathing in fully,
Letting the breath go,
Staying with the breath.
And if any thoughts or distractions arise,
Simply drop back into the body and notice any sensations that are here right now in this moment.
Stay with the breath,
In and out,
Fully in and gently,
Gently out.
Notice how your whole body moves as you breathe in and as you breathe out.
Notice the tiniest movements.
Notice the larger movements,
Maybe your ribs.
Trust in the rhythm of your breath,
Breathing in,
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest,
Let it go.
Feel the connection between your inhale and your exhale.
A connection that mirrors your trust in life itself.
Letting go of any need to control,
Any need to pretend you're okay when you don't feel you're okay.
Any need to fit in.
When you don't feel you need to fit in.
And trust,
Trust that life will guide you.
Just as your breath does.
Trust.
There's no need to rush,
No need to strive,
Just stay with the rhythm of your breath.
Drawing each breath in,
Each one fuller than the one before,
Just a few percent bigger.
And each exhale connected and flowing,
Leaving your body with peace,
With grace.
Trust your breath.
Trust the wisdom of your body.
Give it back its place.
Come back to your body.
With every breath,
You're nourishing your body,
Yourself,
Creating space.
And every exhale,
Releasing what no longer serves you.
Stay with the breath.
Stay with the breath.
No gaps,
No pauses,
Soft open mouth.
Feel free to massage your jaw if you want to find a little bit of space.
Relax your face,
Your forehead.
Allow it to smooth out.
Allow your tongue to relax.
Your jaw.
Let go of any masks.
That you've been holding on to,
That you've been wearing because you thought you had to.
Maybe you did at some point.
But you don't need to anymore.
It's time to live.
Your authentic you.
It's time to come out.
It's time to play.
And as we head into the final stretch of our connected breath journey,
I'm going to invite you to breathe deeper and fuller.
Drawing the breath in and building up energy within you.
And if you feel your body wanting to move,
Give yourself permission to move.
Rock,
Stretch,
Moan.
Rest yourself in the way it needs to be expressed.
Give yourself permission to just be you.
Allow your body to guide you.
Allow the energy to move within you.
No one's listening.
No one's looking at you.
Do what you need to do.
Knowing that you're shifting and releasing energy that may have been stuck or stagnant since you were a tiny child.
Parts of you that weren't acceptable to the outside world.
Put away.
So you could be who you needed to be in order to be loved or cared for.
Because you couldn't be by just being who you were.
When we disconnect from our emotions,
When we're small,
When we're big,
Energy gets blocked in our bodies.
Energy that's part of the emotion.
An emotion is just energy in motion.
So with every breath you're taking,
Every movement,
You're encouraging that energy to flow freely.
You're letting go of all the stuckness,
Of all the restrictions.
All the judgments.
All the tension.
Emerging free to be you.
Keep breathing,
No gaps,
No pauses.
Allowing your breath to rise from your belly and up into your heart space.
Breathe fully,
Breathe deeply.
We have a few more minutes here.
And as you breathe,
Notice any tension or tightness around your heart.
You're holding on to anything around your heart to protect your heart.
And I invite you to let it soften with each exhale.
And gently fall away.
Releasing your heart.
Releasing your authenticity.
Your truth.
Stay with the breath,
Inhale deeply,
And soften on the exhale.
We're in the final stretch.
With every breath you're taking,
It's like a step towards the summit.
You've walked up the mountain.
You're nearly at the top.
Keep deepening each inhale,
Letting the next exhale fall away.
This is your moment to fully connect,
To fully release.
Keep building the breath.
I'm right here by your side.
Drawing the breath in,
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest.
Open mouth,
No gaps,
No pauses.
Let the breath fall away.
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest.
Breathe a little fuller.
Breathe a little faster.
Let the breath build.
And as it builds,
Let the energy in your body build too.
Each breath more powerful,
More connected than the one before.
And feel it clearing any last bits of stuck energy.
Few more breaths.
Stay with the breath.
You're nearly there.
Breathing in fully.
Letting the breath fall away.
Straight into the next breath.
Drawing the breath in.
Belly,
Ribs,
Chest.
Let the breath fall away.
No gaps,
No pauses,
No forcing.
You're nearly there.
A few more breaths.
And as we move into the final phase of the journey,
It's time to slow things down.
You've done the work.
You've created space within yourself and your breath.
Now it's time to rest.
It's time to receive.
Let your breath settle into a natural,
Comfortable position.
Let your breath settle into a natural,
Comfortable rhythm.
No need to control it.
Just let it flow.
Bring all your awareness inward.
Stay connected with your body,
Your breath,
And whatever may be present for you here right now.
Allow yourself to slow down.
With every inhale,
Feel yourself softening.
And with every exhale,
Feel any remaining tension melting away.
And as you keep your attention inward,
I invite you to gently reach your hands up towards the ceiling.
But if you prefer not,
That's absolutely OK too.
Reach as high as feels comfortable,
Stretching softly.
And as you do,
Connect to a feeling of gratitude.
Feel it between your hands.
What,
Who are you grateful for in your life right now?
Maybe it's something simple,
Something small.
Maybe it's something huge that fills your whole heart.
Let that feeling of gratitude grow,
Filling the space between your hands.
And now imagine a little golden door at your heart space.
Gently that door begins to swing open.
And when you're ready,
Slowly,
Slowly bring that gratitude from your hands into your heart.
Welcome it in.
Feel it land in your heart space,
Soft and warm.
This is the felt sense of gratitude.
Let it fill your whole chest,
Spreading through your body like a gentle wave.
And take a few moments to rest in this feeling.
Gratitude in your heart,
In your body,
Expanding with every breath.
It's time to stand in the fullness of who you are.
It's time to love the parts of you that once felt unworthy.
It's time to reclaim the joy,
The depth,
The fire that was always yours.
You are not here to be what others need.
You are here to be what you are.
And you,
In your wholeness,
In your raw and radiant truth,
Are already more than enough.
Welcome,
Welcome home to yourself.
Whenever you feel ready,
Gently bring your awareness back to your breath,
To your body resting in this space.
And start to bring a little bit of movement back to your fingers,
To your toes.
Whatever feels right,
There's no rush.
Take your time.
We have a tendency to want to jump up and get on with life straight away.
But I encourage you to spend some time integrating your experience and anything that emerged from it by journaling or simply being still with it and taking it with you throughout your evening,
Your day,
Your week.
Allow for the gifts from this session to become a part of you.
Imagine yourselves like a sponge that was full of unprocessed,
Stagnant stuff.
You've now squeezed that sponge and now it's ready to absorb everything that you bring its way.
So care for yourselves.
I invite you to drink lots of water,
Maybe go out into nature.
What would you like to fill your sponge with?
What do you need?
Listen to yourselves.
And thank you for letting me be a part of your journey,
A little part of your journey.
Take care.
And I'll see you soon.
