This contemplative poem explores the yogic principle of Brahmacharya—not as suppression, but as sacred direction of energy. Through flowing verses and gentle imagery, The River Knows invites you to reflect on the quiet power of intentional living, self-mastery, and choosing what nourishes over what depletes. Brahmacharya is often misunderstood. This piece offers a softer, more expansive lens: one that speaks of choice, presence, and the subtle strength of holding your light with care. Let it wash over you like a still stream—calming, centering, and quietly transformative. Best enjoyed in a moment of rest, reflection, or after meditation.

Transcript

A short poem on Brahmacharya And the poem is titled The River Knows A poem on Brahmacharya I am not here to dam the stream Nor freeze the fire of breath and dream I am the keeper of the flame Who learns to whisper Not to tame Not every spark deserves the wood Not every urge leads into good I walk with light cupped in my hand It dances still though I command In every glance a path begins In every word a world that spins But I have learned the cost of yes The peace that blooms inside a less To sip the sun Not solo whole To choose one thought and feed it soul To sleep without the restless scroll To love with presence Not control This is not vow Nor cage Nor wall But hearing life's true current call It says come close But come aware Be here be light Be clean take care So let the world be loud and wide I do not run I do not hide But with each step I ask anew Is this the best of me to you?

And in that pause my power grows Like silent roots the river knows Thank you for listening Namaste
