Welcome.

This meditation is an offering of softness,

A place where you can lay down the pressure to be perfect and return to something more true.

Your goodness,

Inspired by the words of John Steinbeck,

We enter this moment with gentleness and truth.

I invite you to find the most comfortable position you can,

Seated or lying down.

Let your hands rest where they naturally fall,

And allow yourself to arrive just as you are.

Gently close your eyes or soften your gaze.

Take a deep breath in,

And a slow,

Steady breath out.

Let's begin.

Bring awareness to your body,

The home of your perfect imperfections and the vessel of your goodness.

Start at the top of your head.

Feel any sensations,

Tingles,

Warmth,

Stillness.

Let that awareness drift down to your face,

Your forehead,

Eyes,

Jaw,

Softening with each breath.

There is nothing to prove here.

Move into your shoulders.

Notice if they're holding tension,

Effort,

Or expectation.

Let your exhale help you release the need to carry it all.

Bring attention to your chest,

Your heart space.

Let each breath offer tenderness.

Let the rise and fall remind you you're already enough.

Now your belly,

Hips,

Legs.

Feel the earth beneath you holding you fully.

You don't have to hold everything on your own.

With each inhale,

Invite gentleness.

With each exhale,

Let go of perfection.

Let yourself simply be.

Gently bring Steinbeck's quote into your awareness.

And now that you don't have to be perfect,

You can be good.

Repeat it like a quiet truth you're ready to remember.

Let it settle into your body.

Feel what shifts when you give yourself permission to stop performing,

To stop polishing,

To stop reaching for an ideal that was never yours to hold.

You don't have to be flawless to be lovable.

You don't have to be perfect to be worthy.

You don't have to do more to be good.

With an open heart,

Turn inward with curiosity and grace.

Each question is a doorway.

Where in my life am I still trying to be perfect?

Let the answers rise gently.

What does goodness mean to me?

Not what the world expects,

But what you know in your soul.

How might I live more truthfully if I stop chasing perfection?

What parts of me are already good,

Tender,

Kind,

And real that I haven't fully seen or celebrated?

Just breathe and notice.

No need to fix,

Only witness.

Let these affirmations move through you like a soft wind through tall grass.

Repeat them inwardly or in a quiet whisper.

I release the need to be perfect.

I honor my imperfections as part of my beauty.

I am good just as I am.

My worth is not earned,

It is inherent.

Let the truth of these words settle not in your mind,

But in your breath,

Your heart,

Your being.

Begin to bring awareness back to the space around you.

Notice the sounds,

The light behind your eyelids,

The soft rhythm of your breath.

Take one final nourishing inhale and a grounding,

Peaceful exhale.

When you're ready,

Gently float your eyes open.

Carry this truth with you today.

You don't need to be perfect,

You never did.

You only need to be real,

And real is already good enough.
