This is a guided mindfulness practice. It is geared towards teaching the art of mindfulness. Eyes are kept open, ears alert. We notice the sounds we can hear. We pull ourselves back to that alertness each time our mind trails off.

Transcript

This meditation is designed to allow you to practice mindfulness.

Being in the present moment,

Observing your thoughts,

Staying present,

Coming back to your breath,

Into your body when your mind trails off.

Mindfulness.

Let's practice the active meditation that you can use throughout the day.

Mindfulness.

I'd like you to turn away from the screen.

We're going to keep our eyes open for this meditation.

Just looking at the room you're in,

The space you're in,

And beginning to gently become aware of your breath.

Breathing slow and deep.

Keeping your eyes open.

You can set an intention to stay present.

Asking God,

The universe,

Your higher self,

Your intuition,

Whatever it is for you,

For guidance with staying in this present moment.

Becoming alert,

Very aware.

Beginning to notice what sounds you can hear.

Tuning your focus onto the sounds around you,

Or even the silence,

If that's there.

Anytime you notice that your mind is chilled out,

Don't judge that.

It's okay.

Just come back to your alertness.

Notice what you can hear,

Being so alert that you're tuning into all the different tiny sounds around you.

Okay?
