'The Magic Book' Guided Meditation & Visualization

This is a journey meditation. We begin with a relaxation scan then we start the journey. It is almost a story, except you are guided into a meditative state to experience and co-create. We are going to process through some gentle shadow work here and make our way back into the light. Unlike the rest of these guided meditations, here we begin in a bustling city and make our way to locate this magical book wherein we take an additional step in our journey. Transcript

You Take a long slow deep breath in and hold it for a moment and then slowly and smoothly exhale.

And again drawing in a long breath.

Retain it at the top and then slowly exhale letting go of any tension let it melt away.

And once more slowly in hold it soften soften and then exhale emptying your lungs completely.

Take another breath in hold it swallow relax the shoulders feel the energy cycle and then with the smooth exhale you feel yourself drifting into a state of deep relaxation.

Continuing to breathe slowly and gently as you bring your awareness to the top of your head.

Imagine a feeling of relaxation spreading down through the forehead,

The temples allowing your eye muscles to relax.

Let your lips curl to a gentle smile that compassionate understanding knowing smile of the Buddha as your cheeks and jaw soften to release any tension.

Now let this peaceful feeling flow down the neck into the chest and to the shoulders and with each breath relaxing softening through the upper body letting the arms hang heavy letting the belly soften in the breath fill deeper.

Soothing into the muscles of your shoulders and arms your forearms your hands relaxing all the way to the tips of your fingers.

And as your body relaxes your mind relaxes and your thoughts seem to become lighter and you slip further and further into a dreamlike state of stillness and relaxation.

Now bringing your awareness to your chest and your stomach feel how this area of your body gently rises and falls as you breathe.

And this peaceful sensation flows from this area of the body soothing every internal organ and muscle all the way down your spine into the hips.

And you sense this relaxation work its way through your legs,

Knees,

Lower legs,

Into the feet all the way down to the tips of your toes.

You are now comfortable,

Peaceful,

And totally at ease and it's time to leave the external world behind and go on an inner journey.

A journey to a place of deep inner stillness.

I want you to picture yourself walking down a busy city street.

It's full of shops and businesses and you can see crowds of people hurrying from one place to another.

Cars and buses line the roads and they crawl through the city bumper to bumper.

Just up ahead next to the sidewalk you notice a narrow doorway between two buildings.

It's a small opening that looks like a cozy retreat from the hustle and bustle of the world around you.

As you approach the doorway you hear the sounds of cars,

Of people shuffling,

Of animals,

And other noises of the city and you walk through the doorway.

The entrance is dimly lit,

It is warm and inviting,

And the sounds of the outside world begin to recede as you take a few steps deeper inside.

It gets quieter and quieter and you become more and more relaxed with each step.

There's a gentle light inside this building and you arrive at the top of a flight of ten stairs.

Slowly making your way down the steps.

With each step you take you feel yourself moving away from the noise of the world into a place of deep quiet.

Gradually descending deeper and deeper into a state of peaceful relaxation.

And when you've reached the bottom of the flight of stairs you will be completely at ease and totally relaxed.

Walking down the steps ten,

Nine,

Eight,

Seven,

Six,

Five,

Four,

Three,

Two,

One.

You have reached the bottom of the staircase.

Feeling calm and deeply relaxed.

Before you is a tall wooden door.

A door with no handle.

You study the door more closely and you notice the word release has been carved on its surface.

Contemplate this word release.

Feel its essence.

Standing in front of this tall wooden door with the markings release,

You begin to feel a sensation of opening,

Of letting go,

Of releasing.

And the door unlocks.

Its old hinges creak as it slowly opens to reveal a small round room.

This room is a library.

It is filled with bookshelves and has a tall dome ceiling.

You step inside the room and slowly the door closes behind you.

You feel content and secure in this place.

In the center of the room,

Surrounded by books,

Stacked up high on the shelves,

Lies a small wooden desk and on top of the desk is a single large old dust covered book.

What does the book look like?

You pick up the book and feel its weight in your hands.

It's been waiting a long time for you,

Since long before you were born.

You open the cover and you notice the pages blank.

Flipping through the book you notice all the pages are blank.

What might this mean?

And then you understand this is a book of freedom.

It has the power to free you from anything in life that might be bothering you or weighing you down.

The time has come for you to write in this book.

Take a moment to think about anything that is troubling you in your life.

Bring to mind any situation that seems to be blocking you.

Any forthcoming event that frightens you or person that you are in conflict with.

Any negative feelings that you are holding on to.

Just write it down.

Write about anything at all that you feel is holding you back where that burdens you.

Write it down.

There's no right or wrong way to do this.

Simply feel or imagine your thoughts and feelings being imprinted into this book.

Taking your time allowing images to form in your mind and let your feelings flow.

Let them flow out onto the pages of the book.

Sense that the pages are filling up with all of your worldly concerns.

This book,

This great tome absorbs them all.

And as the pages fill with words and pictures you begin to feel lighter.

You begin to feel more positive.

Continuing to release anything that's coming up for you onto these pages of the books.

Just writing it all down.

Letting the pictures and the emotions and the energy flow transcribed upon this great book.

And as you do so you begin to feel lighter and more positive.

You have been heard.

You have been understood.

A weight has been lifted and transferred off your shoulders.

You feel reassured and relieved.

Take a deep breath.

I'm letting it all go.

When you are ready close the book.

Place it back on the table.

Your head tilts back.

You notice the domed roof above you begins to open.

Letting in some light as the as the roof opens up.

Sky doors opening up revealing a clear blue expansive sky above.

Stand with your arms outstretched observing the sky taking it all in.

And as you lift your forearms and your hands up pointing towards the stars your body begins to float and your feet lift off the floor.

Wave of exhilaration flows through you as you realize you have the freedom to fly.

Simply by the force of your will you point your fingers and you move ascending out of this room feeling the air the breeze smelling the freshness and expanding your lungs with this cool evening air.

You feel a wonderous sense of freedom as you fly higher and higher seeing the city below you gradually become smaller and smaller and you notice mountains and rivers and forests and checking out the landscape noticing what else you see as you float up and ascend into the heavens.

Higher and higher you fly reaching into the clouds passing through the clouds feeling their cool mist breathing it in breathing in the moist air of the heavens and as you let go of that you let go of any human any earthly concerns feeling even more joyful and more free as you fly out of the atmosphere flying into the cosmos.

Leaving any concerns behind you you ascend higher and higher out into space turning back to look upon our great green and blue earth you see it floating and you appreciate it admiring the beauty of the stars and the planets looking upon the oceans and the clouds you are weightless serene and at peace.

Floating sensation is profoundly relaxing bringing you deep content you feel as though you are a million miles from anything or anyone and yet you feel intimately connected to the entire universe.

You are timeless you are spaceless you are infinite.

From deep within the silent space inside you a voice can be heard its loving words echo in your mind reassuring you of who you really are.

I am without beginning or ending.

I am eternal.

I am free to experience life in any way I choose.

My consciousness is not bound by time or space.

Like the universe itself I am limitless timeless and infinite.

I am a part of a vast unified wholeness a completeness.

I am free from all concerns about the past.

I am free from any concerns about the future.

My life is in perfect order and it unfolds according to a perfect plan.

Right now everything is perfect.

I am perfect.

You are perfect.

We are perfect.

You you you sensing into this infinite vastness and deep connectedness of floating in space and of abiding in the universe as the universe feeling that you are the whole thing drawing this image into the heart condensing it and bringing it into the spirits and into the flow of energy within your body drawing your attention here and now feeling into the breath the feeling it's the beat of your heart feel that connectedness to the universe to the earth to space you Simply enjoying being present.

And begin to deepen and lengthen the breath a bit.
