Let's begin our day with a little bit of happy talk and meditation in this short,
Yet impactful podcast designed to infuse a little bit of positivity into each moment of every day.
Let's get in the flow.
So let's talk today about staying joyful.
It sounds like it's easy to do,
Right?
Let's just stay joyful.
But you know what?
In stressful times like right now,
I mean,
I hate to say it,
But as much as we want to stay in joy,
Right at this time of year,
It can get a little bit stressful.
I love this time of year.
I love the holiday movies.
I love the parties.
I love the friendship.
And everybody seems to be just that little bit more in a good mood,
Right?
I love the lights.
Oh my gosh.
And the decorations.
I mean,
Seriously,
The lights.
That is what does it for me.
That feeling or seeing the lights,
The holiday lights in my house,
Because I put up a ton of lights in my house,
Right?
But seeing the lights when you're driving around at night,
There's something that fills me with peace,
Right?
And that joy.
Oh,
Love the joy,
Right?
But I will say,
I find it to be a little challenging too,
Right?
It's this time of year can be a little challenging.
So what I do is.
.
.
Okay,
So in my spirit room,
Where I do all my spirit work,
I light the candles for the different chakras,
Right?
Well,
Here's.
.
.
Check this out.
This is so interesting.
So the colors of Christmas are red and green,
Right?
That's just kind of like a unknown thing.
Red and green.
Everything is red and green,
Whatever,
Right?
Or white.
For what I wanna explain right now,
It's red and green,
Right?
The red chakra is the grounding chakra.
It's about.
.
.
Your root chakra is about connecting to Mother Earth and connecting with your family,
Right?
It's all about the earth stuff,
Right?
And then the green chakra is about love,
Right?
So I just have always found this so fascinating.
There are no accidents,
You know?
When whoever it was that decided all about the chakras and the colors and the meanings and the thing and all of that stuff,
Whoever dealt with that,
I mean,
It's all so amazing.
So at any rate,
This time of the year,
I love lighting red and green candles because it grounds me to Mother Earth,
But at the same time,
It makes me feel that love and that joy.
Isn't that amazing?
So when we talk about getting stressed or feeling that stress of the year,
You know,
I'm one of those people where I try to do everything during this time of the year.
I want to do everything.
I need to feel like I'm connecting to my family,
You know,
Baking with my daughter or just Christmas shopping with my husband and that sort of thing.
It's really,
Really interesting,
Right?
However,
This year,
You know,
And I get myself.
.
.
I get myself a little stressed.
I'll just say it,
That's fine,
Right?
But this year,
I'm making a pact with myself.
I am going to stay absolutely present in everything that I do.
Yeah,
I'm going to.
You'd think that would be easy,
Right?
But I do find it challenging,
Especially right now.
So there are some things that I have decided that I'm going to do.
And you know,
I figured I'd share because this may help somebody out there figure out how to not be so stressed during this time and enjoy the time,
Right?
Okay,
So number one,
I'm going to meditate every day,
Of course,
You know,
I mean,
I'm a meditation teacher,
I should meditate every day,
Right?
But sometimes this time of the year,
It falls to the wayside a little bit,
You know?
I mean,
I meditate 99% of the days,
You know what I mean,
Of the days of the year,
Right?
There will be days when I find myself like,
Ah,
You know,
Kind of thing.
So but I will meditate every day.
That makes a huge difference,
Right?
Number two is I am not going to overcommit myself.
Do you guys find that you do that?
Overcommit yourself?
I mean,
It's so easy to do,
Especially this time of the year,
Right?
Right.
So number three,
Then I am taking my practice of gratitude to a new level.
Yes I am.
Right?
I'm going to keep in gratitude first thing in the morning,
Which is what I always do.
But then throughout the day,
I'm going to remind myself of all the things that I'm grateful for.
So right.
And then the last thing that I'm going to do to challenge myself,
Right,
I'm going to,
Well,
I'm going to place reminders on my phone,
Because that's what I do.
You guys,
I've said this before,
I put reminders on my phone for everything.
I mean,
It's kind of ridiculous.
But if I put it on my phone,
I remember it and it stops me in my tracks.
So what I'm going to do is going to stop at least once a day,
Just stop what I'm doing.
And you know,
I've talked about this before,
And be present to that moment,
Remind myself to be present.
Okay,
So that's what I'm going to do.
And if I put the reminder on my phone,
I will do it.
That's just,
That's kind of how I'm wired,
Right?
So I'm going to put the reminder on my phone to up my gratitude practice,
And I'm going to put the reminder on my phone to stop.
As a matter of fact,
The reminder says,
Stop being gratitude.
Because why not?
You know,
I mean,
That's how we have to do it,
Right?
So here's the kicker.
I challenge you.
No,
I don't want to challenge you.
But I want to see if you would like to make that commitment as well.
Because it makes everything so much more,
So much more easy to get through,
Like your days,
It'll be easier to get through your day,
When you meditate,
Even like,
And I know I always say this,
But even if you meditate for 10 minutes a day,
Like we're about to do,
You know,
You meditate for that,
You don't overcommit yourself,
You stay in that place of gratitude,
And you be present.
I mean,
We should do that all year long,
Right?
But I think this time of the year,
It makes it even more so,
Right?
So let's get ourselves situated and comfortable and relaxed.
Let's get ourselves in that place of relaxation so that we can feel the joy.
Because it's all about experiencing the joy,
Living in the joy.
Oh,
Living in the bliss.
So as we get ourselves comfortable,
Before we sit in the stillness,
Let's consider,
Let's start out our day with that practice of gratitude.
So what are you grateful for?
What are you grateful for today?
There's so many things to be grateful for.
Even if it's not,
You know,
I mean,
Even if you have like,
I have arthritis,
But you know what,
It makes me I know this might sound crazy,
But it makes me grateful for the ability to walk.
I am grateful for my family.
You're going to trim the tree today.
Family time.
And if you're not near your family,
Find other things to be grateful for,
For your friends,
For your loved ones,
For you know what,
We can be grateful that the phone exists.
I know that sounds kind of crazy.
Be grateful that the phone exists so you can call your family.
Call your loved ones,
Call your friends and connect with them.
So as we sit in the stillness,
Our mantra for today is this Ananda hum.
Ananda hum.
I am bliss.
Isn't bliss like the best word ever?
I love that word.
It's to me,
It's like joy to the nth degree,
You know,
Bliss,
Bliss.
I am bliss Ananda hum.
Ananda hum.
So as we sit in the stillness with our beautiful mantra,
I will keep the time.
And let's begin.
Ananda hum.
Ananda hum.
Ananda hum.
Ananda hum.
Ananda hum.
Ananda hum.
Ananda hum.
Ananda hum.

Feeling that joy sweeping all through our bodies.
Knowing that bliss is present right here,
Right now.
