Namaste everybody.
Welcome to In the Below for a Minute.
So Martin Luther King Jr.
,
A quote of his,
Darkness cannot drive out darkness.
Only light can do that.
Hate cannot drive out hate.
Only love can do that.
There has been so much negativity lately,
Right?
And we're all falling victim to being aware of it and just noticing it and all that kind of stuff,
Right?
And it's,
It's,
There's just so much negativity.
And here's the thing,
I'll be the first to admit,
I watch the news.
I know I watch the news way too much.
But you know what?
It's like I'm learning my difference between watching it too much and just getting what I need from it.
Do you know what I mean?
And like backing off.
I'm learning.
Exactly,
Right?
It can be daunting.
It can.
It can be daunting,
Right?
So today I want us to,
We're going to meditate and we're going to meditate and we're going to chant as we're doing this,
Right?
And we're going to do this specific chant that helps to drive out the negativity and bring in and invite in positivity.
Because guess what?
If,
If we can,
If we can all collectively really work on bringing in positivity,
We can change the world.
I mean,
And that's part of why I love meditation and I love studying the ancient texts,
Because they teach us ways,
Specific ways in some circumstances on how to get rid of the negativity and invite in and be positivity.
And here's my thing that I just like get so excited about is if we all do this together,
If we all,
If we all meditate together,
The negativity has nowhere to go but away,
Right?
Because that's,
That's what it does.
Like if you have,
And that's why I read that quote from Martin Luther King Jr.
Hate cannot drive out hate,
Only love can do that.
And it's the same thing as positivity,
Negativity,
Right?
Negativity isn't going to help negativity.
Love,
Positivity.
Okay,
So today our chant,
And we're going to do this,
Right?
We can do this.
We're going to do a chant and it's,
It's a very,
It's very popular chant.
You've probably heard it a million times,
But Om Nama Shivaya.
Okay,
And that's a very significant,
This is a very significant chant in Hinduism.
Okay,
In modern times,
It means like I,
I bow to the oneness in me,
To the innerness in me,
But it's,
It really means adoration to Lord Shiva,
Who is one of the Trinity of Gods in Hinduism.
Okay,
So basically what this chant does,
Om Nama Shivaya,
Helps to bring in the positivity and get rid of the negativity.
So all day long,
What's going to happen is,
And this happens to me all the time,
When I start chanting in the morning,
And I'll do a chant and I'll like,
You know,
That'll be my meditation or whatever.
And then what will happen is the rest of the day,
I'll keep singing,
I'll keep singing it in my head because I'm a,
I'm kind of a music person,
As if you didn't know.
But,
So yeah,
So it's really kind of,
It's good,
You know,
Because it'll,
All day long,
If you keep kind of saying this to yourself or singing it to yourself,
It's going to drive out and it's going to get rid of any negativity and bring in the positive,
Right?
And that's what our goal is for today.
And what we're going to do this morning is,
We are going to do it 108 times.
Yes,
We are.
108 in the Vedic text.
This goes way back.
And it's interesting because 108 is like a really sacred number.
Like in all across the board,
I mean,
Astrology,
There's like a hundred,
I don't understand any of this,
So just,
I'm just giving you the overview of that,
Right?
108,
There has something to do with astrology,
Like 108 times something,
Something in astrology,
Right?
There's in,
Within the chakra system,
There's 108 of certain things,
Right?
And in the Vedic text,
108 signifies the wholeness of existence.
How beautiful is that,
Right?
So whenever we chant any of these chants that we do,
If we do it 108 times,
It sort of amplifies it,
Right?
And the other thing,
Can you tell I love chanting?
Because it brings in spirituality and music.
That's why I love it so much.
But anyway,
What it does is,
There's a vibration that is created.
And I've talked about this before.
The vibration is created.
Now I want you to notice,
Whenever we're doing this,
Right?
I want you to notice how your body starts to tingle a little bit,
Okay?
And just go with it and allow,
Allow that vibration to sort of percolate in there and raise up,
Okay?
All right.
So let's get ourselves comfortable.
So what we're going to do is,
After we do the 108 of Om Namah Shivaya,
We're going to sit and I want you to,
That's when I want you to really notice the vibration,
Okay?
All right.
So get yourself comfortable.
Sit,
Sit very calmly.
Let's take a deep breath in and release.
Perfect.
Perfect.
You can just follow my lead.
Om Namah Shivaya,
Om Namah Shivaya,
Om Namah Shivaya,
Om Namah Shivaya,
Om Namah Shivaya,
Om Namah Shivaya,
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
Om Namah Shivaya.
