This 4:4 Balancing Breathing exercise will calm you down instantly if you are stressed or anxious. By using Ocean Breath (Ujjayi Breathing) you'll stimulate your vagus nerve and thus trigger your parasympathetic nervous system. Once triggered, the parasympathetic nervous system calms down both your body and your mind!

Welcome to this balancing breathing exercise.

As always with our balancing and relaxation breathing exercises,

We will use ocean breath or ujjayi breathing.

If you have never practiced ocean breath or ujjayi breathing before,

I warmly invite you to check out the ocean breath tutorial on my Inside Timer page.

If you're familiar with ocean breath,

I invite you to find a comfortable seat.

Ideally,

Sit upright,

Your spine is straight.

Your chin is parallel to the floor and your shoulders are relaxed.

You are relaxed.

And once you've found this position,

I invite you to close your eyes and to arrive in this very moment right here,

Right now.

We will breathe in to the count of four and breathe out to the count of four using ocean breath.

I will guide you right through it.

Once you're ready,

I invite you to take the first inhale to the count of four.

One,

Two,

Three,

Four.

And exhale to the count of four.

Eyes remain closed.

Your breath is back to normal.

Remain here for a couple of more moments with your eyes closed and feel into your body,

Feel into how your energy has shifted and what has changed for you,

If anything has changed for you,

Inside of you.

Beautiful.

Very,

Very good.

And now I invite you to slowly,

Slowly in your time,

Open your eyes.

And I wish you a gorgeous,

Gorgeous rest of your day.

Until soon.
