Good morning beautiful soul,
It is a new day,
It is a new day and the beautiful thing about that is that we get the choice,
We get to decide on how we show up,
We get the choice to let go of what doesn't matter and focus on what truly does.
Follow along with me on this very short journey,
A gratitude meditation to set the tone for your morning,
Your day and hopefully your evening as well.
Connect with gratitude as much as you can and allow it to wash over you during this practice.
To begin,
I invite you to find your seat rather than lie down so you can awaken your physical body by creating an active spine maybe the legs are crossed or anything else that feels comfortable in this moment.
Feel your seat connected to the support underneath you,
Whatever that may be.
Ground down through your seat,
Feel the heaviness there.
Begin to notice your spine and as you do that,
Maybe the heart pulls forward and the shoulders roll back and as you breathe out,
You soften your shoulders down.
Notice your neck,
Your neck holding your head high.
Notice your face,
Maybe the eyes feel good closed or they feel better open but allow your eyes to be soft,
Your eyelids to be heavy.
Let yourself be here physically right now.
You are alive,
You are strong and you have a beautiful heart.
So let's lead with that as we practice.
Firstly,
Give gratitude,
Give thanks to your space,
What you're seated on,
The comfortable items around you,
What you have,
What makes you feel good in your material world,
What makes you feel safe.
Give gratitude for your space right now.
We'll begin to breathe a few times together.
Notice your inhale and notice your exhale in this moment.
Follow the natural rhythm,
In,
Out,
In.
Find gratitude for the ability to breathe,
For the health of your lungs,
The movement of your diaphragm,
To be able to take a deep breath,
To be able to feel better by a simple breath.
What a gift that is.
We'll empty the lungs in this moment together,
Take a breath out.
Bring an inhale in through your nose,
Breathe in and let that go,
A sigh out of the mouth.
Two more breaths in,
Big sigh mouth.
One more time,
Breathe in together,
In,
Out,
In.
Let it go,
Sigh.
Once again,
Find gratitude for the ability to breathe.
Thank your body,
Thank your lungs.
From here,
We'll take a journey into our hearts and this is where we'll connect with gratitude.
So maybe you want to bring a palm to your heart or both palms to your heart or allow your arms to rest where it feels comfortable and begin to visualize your heart center with your mind.
And in this moment,
Maybe your hands or you visualize this warm light hovering above your heart.
Maybe that it is a gold or a warm yellow.
And this warmth is hovering over your heart through your palms if they are there and you feel this in your heart center.
And now we're going to send something into this warm light that we are grateful for.
What am I grateful for today?
What am I grateful for today?
Who am I grateful for today?
Who am I grateful for today?
Why am I grateful for what I am?
Why am I grateful for what I am?
Whatever came to your mind,
Bring that into the warm light.
Feel this warmth in your heart.
Let it circulate and swirl through your Anahata heart chakra,
Heart center.
This place of love,
Compassion,
Gratitude,
Abundance.
Give your heart a moment of this warmth.
Our hearts can be so heavy sometimes.
Give yourself this gift of gratitude here.
What is here for you right now in your heart?
Breathe in your heart.
Breathe out.
And as you breathe in,
Fill your heart with gratitude.
Big breath in.
And as you exhale,
Let the gratitude move from your heart down your body,
Through your legs,
Through your arms,
All the way up through your head.
And let the gratitude and the warmth swirl around through every cell.
Every cell drinks the gratitude.
Take a breath in to the warm light of your heart.
Gratitude here.
And a breath out.
Let it circulate and swirl and fill your whole being,
Washing over you.
Washing over you.
One more of those.
Inhale into the heart.
And the warmth and the light here.
And as you breathe out,
Visualize the gratitude circulating limbs,
Head,
All through your head,
Through your mind,
And back to your heart.
Back to your heart.
What am I grateful for today?
Who am I grateful for today?
Why am I grateful for what I am?
Notice yourself,
Where you are,
Your physical body.
Maybe you want to bring the arms along by your side and let them rest.
Thank yourself for taking this short time to connect to gratitude.
And if things feel heavy today,
If you feel worried,
If fear comes over you,
Come back to the warm light of gratitude in your heart.
Thank you and have a beautiful day.
