Welcome to your Box Breathing and Guided Visualization practice.
My name is Crystal,
And I'm here to take you on a short journey to feel centered,
Calm,
And rested.
Begin by gently closing your eyes,
And just notice the natural rhythm of your breath.
No need to change anything yet.
Just arriving here,
In this moment,
Exactly as it is.
Breathe in,
And breathe out.
Feel your breath move in,
And feel your breath move out.
Now imagine yourself standing in a quiet forest.
The air is cool,
Still,
Steady.
All around you,
Tall trees rise from the earth,
Deeply rooted,
Unmoving,
Supported from below.
You can feel the ground beneath your feet,
Firm,
Stable,
Holding you.
This is the energy of the earth element.
It is steady,
It is structured,
And it is supportive.
Now,
In your mind's eye,
Begin to visualize a soft,
Subtle shape forming in front of you.
A square,
Like a box.
Each side equal,
Balanced,
Grounded.
This box becomes your breath.
As you inhale,
Slowly,
For four,
Through the nose.
Trace the first side of the box,
Gentle,
Steady.
At the top,
Hold your breath for four.
Move along the second side,
Supported,
Held.
As you exhale,
For four,
Trace the third side,
Softening,
But still steady.
As you pause,
At the bottom,
For four,
Complete the box,
Resting in that structure.
Now that you have the visualization,
I will count you through.
This breath is all done through the nose,
Lips closed,
Soft jaw.
If it feels more comfortable,
As you breathe out,
Purse lips out of the mouth.
Inhale for,
Pause at the top.
Exhale for,
Pause at the bottom.
Draw the box in your mind,
And allow this image to keep you grounded,
To keep you steady.
We'll begin by emptying the lungs completely.
Take a breath out.
In,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Pause,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Out,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Pause,
Two,
Three,
Four.
In,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Pause,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Out,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Pause,
Two,
Three,
Four.
In,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Pause,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Out,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Pause,
Two,
Three,
Four.
In,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Pause,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Out,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Pause,
Two,
Three,
Four.
Continue like this,
Breathing in rhythm with the shape,
Each side of the box like the trunk of a tree,
Strong,
Rooted,
Unwavering,
Your breath becoming steady,
Your body feeling supported,
Your nervous system beginning to settle.
If your mind wanders,
Just come back to the shape,
Back to the forest,
Back to the feeling of the earth holding you.
Nothing to force,
Just steady,
Grounded breath.
Continue this breath and I will call you back shortly.
Return to the image of the box in your mind.
As you inhale slowly for four,
Trace the first side of the box,
Gentle,
Steady.
As you hold the breath for four,
Move along the second side,
Supported,
Held.
As you exhale for four,
Trace the third side,
Softening but still steady.
As you pause for four,
Complete the box,
Resting in that structure.
You are in the quiet forest still,
The air is cool,
And all around you,
Tall trees rise from the earth.
Deeply rooted,
Unmoving,
Supported below.
Wherever you are,
Take a moment and return to your physical body.
That may look like some movement,
It may feel like noticing sensation in any area of the body that is not your breath.
It may look like hearing the sounds around you,
Any smells in the room that you're in,
And maybe the temperature that is resting on your skin surface.
Come back and notice how you feel.
Thank you for joining me in gratitude.
