Hello friends,
Today I'm going to be offering you a short grounding meditation.
I find with myself and with my clients and friends that often we all become so fragmented,
This world is so busy right now,
There's so much pulling us in different directions and so to come in and to come down is really important as a place to start from,
As a place to live from.
So if you'd like to join me please take a moment to get settled wherever you're sitting and if it feels good to do so perhaps close your eyes,
It can just really help you with your eyes closed to bring your attention inwards.
And sitting there now with your eyes closed,
Just take a moment to connect to your breath,
Your breath is the constant that you experience no matter what goes on,
And just reminding yourself of your breath,
Your in-breath and your out-breath can be a really lovely quick way just to bring you back in connection with yourself.
And with your eyes closed now perhaps allow your attention to begin to rest inward a little more fully,
Feeling the inside surfaces of your body and noticing the contact of what it is you're sitting on,
So that if you were to begin to feel a little heavier now,
You could begin to sink down and to be held a little more fully and completely by whatever it is you're resting on today.
And perhaps as you do so,
You could just notice anything about your day before now that you could just let go of,
Nothing to hold,
Nothing to do,
Just to be here now,
Fully present with the in-breath and the out-breath,
Sinking down,
Supporting you,
Taking this important moment to arrive in your body.
And I wonder if there are any elements of tension that you may be holding and what it might be like to soften those now,
Almost as a symbol to your mind and your body to begin to let go even more,
That softening,
A symbol of so much.
So much can be contained in that feeling of softening,
Perhaps a feeling of trust that the nervous system can begin to let go and land a little more with each of those easy in-breaths and out-breaths,
This important time for you.
And so I wonder what it might be that you could just begin to experience in the background of your awareness,
That maybe will become a reminder later,
Of this place of reconnection that always exists within you,
Even perhaps at those times you might just forget it for a little while.
What it is you could remember of this space of landing within yourself,
Taking another few moments here,
Before you could begin to bring your attention back a little more fully to the outside edges of your body,
The outside edges of your skin that could begin to notice the air around you again,
Perhaps bringing a little bit of movement to your fingers and toes,
And a deeper inhale,
Bringing you back up to the surface of awareness,
So that when you're ready you could open your eyes and come fully back into the space you're in,
With enough energy and reconnection to get on with whatever's coming next in your day.
