Hi friends,
This is Kimberly Novosel,
The founder of Flourish Meditation,
Ready to share with you today a short meditation practice.
Wherever you are,
Allow yourself to find a comfortable shape.
So you can be seated,
Supported or unsupported.
You could be lying down.
You might even just be listening while you're driving or walking and that is absolutely fine.
You can keep your eyes open if you need to for safety or comfort.
And if you'd care to,
Go ahead now and close your eyes.
No matter what position you're in or what you're doing,
Lengthen your spine.
Create some space between the base of your skull and your tailbone.
Let your shoulders drop down and back,
Creating some opening space across your collarbone,
Across your heart.
Take a few moments just to land here in this moment.
This is your practice.
Everything I say is just an invitation.
Spend a few moments here with your breath.
Notice each inhale,
Each exhale.
Let your breath be as it is and just observe.
We spend so much of our days,
So much of our lives really up in our heads.
We are ruled by our thinking and when we do acknowledge or process feelings,
A lot of that is still time spent thinking about what we're feeling and not simply feeling what we're feeling.
Place a hand over your heart and a hand on your belly.
See if you can drop your consciousness,
Your eye of observation down into this space between your hands.
This is the place where your intuition lives,
Where your inner voice speaks from.
This is the place where your body and your soul or spirit all come together.
All the parts of yourself come together here.
You are here.
You are meant to live life from this place.
You might drop your hands or you may leave them where they are if having this physical tactile reminder of that space keeps you present there.
Give yourself a little time to observe without thoughts,
Without words even.
What do you feel here in this place?
Who is this deeply feeling,
Truthful,
Pure self?
If you've come back into your mind thinking about what you're finding or doubting it,
That's okay.
Come back into your center.
Drop back down into yourself again and again if necessary.
What does it feel like to be fully experiencing yourself?
Come back to your breath.
Follow each inhale in,
Each exhale out.
Nice and easy.
Release the effort of observation.
Give yourself a moment just to be once again in this moment,
In this place where you are taking up space and breathing.
Come back into your body.
Shake out shoulders,
Hands,
Legs.
Maybe stretch or sway from side to side.
I encourage you to spend some more time in that center of yourself,
Out of your mind and in your feeling self,
In your emotional body,
In your intuition,
With your soul,
Even in little moments each day.
Thank you for practicing with me.
Thank yourself for taking this time for yourself.
Whenever you're ready,
Open your eyes.
