Hey there everybody,
It's Casey.
I'm back and today we are going to talk about sleep.
One of the four pillars of health that I talked about before in the intro is sleep.
Elusive.
Sometimes we do not get enough of it.
We need more of it,
Right?
So.
What are some ways in which we can get more sleep.
Well,
There's a couple of things we can do.
We can put those videos down,
We can put the screens away for at least an hour before bedtime.
Another thing to consider is how late did you eat?
Can you stop eating at least two hours before bedtime and stop drinking two to three hours before bedtime?
The liquid will keep you up at night,
Going to the bathroom.
And the food,
We need the food to be digested in the body,
Not sitting in the stomach as you sleep.
Because when you sleep,
Your body is essentially repairing itself.
So if your body is doing other processes,
Like digesting your food from a late meal or a snack,
Then it's not getting to what it really needs to do,
Which is repairing and healing the body.
So we need seven to nine hours of sleep.
That's going to vary from person to person and of course day to day.
Try to have a consistent bedtime and wake up time on a daily basis.
So that means the weekends or your days off,
You are getting up about the same time that you do when you go to work.
You want to have consistency in that sleep schedule.
Your body is counting on you to take care of it.
So please get that sleep.
Get that quality sleep.
Also,
Take a look at your bedding.
What kind of bedding are you sleeping under?
If it's synthetic,
It's going to keep you hot at night.
So try to opt for more natural fibers like cotton and linen.
Maybe even some bamboo.
Try not to sleep on polyester.
All plastic.
All right,
Those are my tips for sleep management.
See you in the next video.
Bye.
