This is not about bypassing anger—it’s about meeting it. In this somatic practice, you’ll be guided to move and breathe through inherited rage stored in the body, offering it safe expression and release. A powerful practice for those ready to stop carrying what never began with them.

Transcript

Welcome to this meditation where together,

We'll release ancestral anger with the support of somatic movement.

This is a space where we'll meet something big together,

An energy that may have been living in your body for a long,

Long time.

And maybe not just yours,

Maybe your mother's,

Your father's,

Your bloodline's.

How is it living in you?

Today we're here to work with ancestral anger,

Not to judge it,

Not to fear it,

But to meet it with breath,

With movement,

With reverence.

Because anger,

When held too long,

Becomes armor.

And you,

You were not born to live armored.

You were born to feel,

To clear,

To liberate.

You can sit down,

Lie down,

Or even stand if it feels better for you in this practice.

This doesn't need to look a certain way,

In fact,

Even better if it doesn't.

And as you breathe,

Remember,

You are safe to go at your own pace.

You are not alone in this.

We are going to tap into something wise and powerful within you.

So let's begin.

Find a place where your body can move,

Even subtly.

This is not a sit still and rise above it meditation.

This is a meet it,

Shake it,

Release it movement.

You didn't come here to bypass.

You came here to break patterns,

To feel what generations were forced to numb.

This is a space for that,

For truth,

For release.

I'd like you to start by focusing on your breath.

Just noticing the natural inhales and exhales.

As the belly rises and falls,

Bringing your conscious awareness to the body and to this moment.

You may be in active anger now,

Or you may be ready to meet it.

And we will start that with your breath.

Take a breath in through your nose with lips sealed,

Drawing the breath up through the belly and up through the chest,

Holding at the top.

And let it out with sound,

Any sound.

And again,

A deeper breath this time.

Building the breath up through the abdomen,

Up to the top of the head.

Holding for a second longer than you think you can here in this moment.

Testing your capacity to hold more.

A practice we'll take in with us today.

And exhale to release.

Last breath here,

Biggest,

Longest,

Deepest breath you've taken today.

And when you reach the top of that breath,

Hold and maybe sip a little bit more air through the lips,

Expanding and reaching.

And let it out with sound,

Any sound.

I'd like you to bring your awareness to your mind's eye,

Your third eye,

Your imagination center,

And see a line behind you.

Not a perfect one,

Not a peaceful one,

But a human one.

Messy,

Grieving,

Fighting to survive.

These are your ancestors.

Each with their own story and their own experience.

And some of them never got to scream.

Never got to rage,

Never got to say,

This isn't fair.

And so maybe you feel that now.

In your jaw,

Your fists,

Your back.

This ancestral anger,

It lives in the body.

Even if you can't name where it came from.

So go there.

Where is it living in the body?

Where's the heat?

Where's the tightness?

Where are you drawn to?

When your mind starts to wander,

If anger has ever felt unsafe,

Bring your awareness back with the breath.

Maybe put your hands on the place in your body that you feel it.

And sit with it.

Hold it.

Give it space.

Don't try to fix it.

Just feel into it.

Maybe your breath gets shorter.

Let it.

Maybe your body wants to sway and shake and stretch.

Let it.

Anger isn't your enemy,

It's your signal.

It's your permission.

It's you and your bloodline saying,

We are ready now.

Let this move.

So move.

Move.

With breath,

With your body.

You don't need a perfect prayer.

You don't need incense or candles or crystals.

You just need your voice.

Your body.

And your breath.

This is your choice to not carry what isn't yours anymore.

Say it.

Say it out loud.

I return this rage to its rightful place.

I honor what it protected.

But I choose to be free.

You just gave your ancestors a gift they never had.

And space in your life.

Let yourself land here.

Placing your hand on your heart and feel your pulse and your power.

Slowing down the breath.

Finding stillness in the body.

Reconnecting with the ground beneath you as it supports and holds you.

Thanking the space that you're in to hold you as you move through these big emotions.

You're not just healing yourself.

You're becoming the person your lineage has been waiting for.

And you have given yourself permission to go there.

To go deep.

To feel into your power.

Not only in moments of joy but in moments of anger.

You've given yourself permission to have boundaries.

And you've given a place for your body to speak.

See if you can bring your breath back in a natural cadence.

Maybe with sealed lips.

Slowing down that breath as you fully bring your spirit back into your body.

Imagining it slide down into your toes.

Integrating through each and every part of the body.

Pulling your aura in tight around your body.

And closing your chakras down to about 10%.

You just moved a ton of energy.

Notice what your body craves now as we prepare to move forward into your day.

Just as we listened to what the body needed with anger,

See if you can become more in tune with your body through the rest and the repair.

Be gentle with yourself,

My friend.

This was powerful.

Take your time to slowly come out of this meditation and continue to honor what you need for the rest of your day.

Welcome home.
