In the darkness,
Let this word,
Hands,
Guide your awareness to any sensations you associate with your hands.
Any movement in your hands.
Tingling.
Pressure.
Hands.
Guiding your awareness to the sensations in your hands.
Also,
Allow your awareness to take in any emptiness that might surround the sensations.
Hands.
Sensations.
Emptiness.
In that dark emptiness,
Listen for the sounds furthest away from you.
Now,
Allow all the sounds in your environment to come together as one noise.
In the darkness,
The sensations in your hands,
And the sounds.
See if you can notice the sounds as if they were appearing out of silence,
And disappearing back into silence.
End of all these sounds,
See if there's a way to hear my voice as just one of those sounds.
Notice the texture,
The timbre,
The pitch of my voice.
Notice how the sound,
Or the sensation of my voice,
Is very different from the meaning,
Or any thoughts that might be going on about the language my voice carries.
In the dark,
Empty,
Silence.
Notice again as if for the first time,
This voice as if it was just a noise.
And allow the listening to this noise bring you to the moment.
This moment that holds both the sound and the meaning.
Don't answer this,
But allow yourself to wonder.
Is there any distance between the darkness,
The emptiness,
The silence,
And the thoughts that go through your mind?
