Hello,

This is Kambiz Nefisi,

Meditation Master and Spiritual Guide.

Today I'm going to educate you on a part of your mind that is controlling more than 80% of your life.

This part of your mind is called the subconscious mind.

In this talk,

We'll cover what the subconscious mind is,

What some of the qualities and traits of the subconscious are,

And how is it possible for you to get in there,

Get into the subconscious,

And uproot and cleanse any self-limiting beliefs,

Emotions,

Habits that are stopping your growth.

Let's first talk about what the subconscious mind is.

Imagine the iceberg that sank the Titanic,

The famous boat.

If you see a picture of that iceberg,

You see there was a very small little piece of ice that sank that humongous boat.

The reason is most of that iceberg was under the water.

Your subconscious mind is very much the same.

You only see a tiny bit of your subconscious.

The rest is like an iceberg that is out of your sight.

So let's talk about the powers and the qualities of the subconscious mind that controls 80% of your life.

Number one,

The subconscious mind is a storage house of all of your oldest emotions,

Beliefs,

Habits,

Any learning that you've ever done,

Like learning to play a musical instrument,

Learning to speak a foreign language,

Learning how to drive.

All of that learning is being done with the subconscious mind.

Once your subconscious mind is convinced of an idea,

It will manifest that idea as a reality using its humongous power.

Let's say a sports coach,

Athletics coach,

Convinces a runner that he or she can finish the mile run,

Let's say,

One second faster,

Two seconds faster.

As soon as the coach convinces that athlete that the athlete the athlete is able to finish the race two seconds faster,

That is what's going to happen,

Because the subconscious mind has great power over your physical body.

The subconscious mind is very difficult to access.

Its doors are closed like a bank vault.

The way to access it is to relax the thinking mind.

This is how the hypnosis or meditation master helps you relax your mind so that they can get in there and with your cooperation change some self-limiting ideas.

Your sense of self-confidence,

Self-worth,

Your self-image,

What you think of yourself,

Are all stored in the subconscious mind.

Now here's something really crazy about the subconscious.

The full contents of your subconscious mind,

In terms of your self-concept,

How sure you are of yourself,

Your thoughts about how beautiful,

How powerful,

How athletic you are,

All of these are already fully shaped and in place in your subconscious mind by the time you're seven to nine years old.

So the main structure of your subconscious mind is fully formed by time you're seven to nine years old.

The subconscious mind has something called a comfort zone,

Meaning whatever emotions,

Beliefs,

Habits that you become comfortable with become the four walls of your subconscious mind.

When you want to step away from those four walls,

Subconscious makes you feel very very uncomfortable.

So for example,

If you are not comfortable with being very vulnerable in love,

As soon as your relationship goes past a certain level of intimacy,

The subconscious is going to start feeling very very uncomfortable because you're stepping out of its comfort zone.

If you're used to making $3,

500 every month and suddenly you do an online deal and you're about to make $18,

000 in seven minutes,

The subconscious mind is very uncomfortable.

Although you're going to benefit,

It's still uncomfortable because that amount of wealth generation is outside your comfort zone.

So the subconscious is a part of the mind that is very very resistant to change,

Even good change.

Your subconscious mind is much much more powerful than your rational mind.

So no matter how smart you are,

No matter how high your IQ is,

Science tells us that your eyes and your five senses essentially,

They transmit up to 10 million pieces of information to your brain per second.

Now no matter how smart you are,

Your rational thinking mind can only absorb 4 to 20 pieces of information per second,

While your five senses are transmitting 10 million.

That difference is being absorbed by the subconscious mind.

The subconscious mind loves repetition,

Repetition,

Repetition,

Repetition.

So let's say you learn to play tennis and while you're learning to play tennis,

You develop a bad habit in your backhand stroke.

In order to get rid of a bad habit in your tennis backhand,

You have to repeat the good habit several dozens,

Maybe hundreds of times in order to forget the bad habit.

So what I'm saying is the subconscious mind learns through repetition,

Repetition,

Repetition.

If you've ever suffered from an addiction,

All addictions and the roots of addictions are buried in the subconscious mind.

Now the subconscious mind understands images,

Pictures,

And emotions much better than verbal commands.

So if you're trying to quit smoking,

If you go to a research facility or to a cancer ward and you get an actual black lung that was taken out of somebody who died of lung cancer,

If you look at that black lung,

Because that is an image right in front of your eyes,

That image will stay with your subconscious mind.

But if you keep slapping the back of your hand saying,

I'm sick and tired of smoking,

That's going to do nothing because that's a verbal command.

Also,

Symbolic language and the language of emotions.

Let's say you had an abusive stepdad and you have a real hard time forgiving this stepdad.

What you can do,

You can jot down some sentences about how you want to forgive,

How you want to live in peace and quietude.

Or you can jot down something that you want to write in a letter to this stepdad and then put that letter in an ashtray and set it on fire,

Set that piece of paper on fire and then blow the ashes into the sky and watch the ashes go away.

You see,

That idea of writing the stepdad a letter and then burning that piece of paper and blowing the ashes into the sky,

That's a very symbolic gesture.

But the subconscious understands that as you being rid of all bad memories and ill will for good as you blow those ashes into the sky.

The subconscious mind never sleeps.

In other words,

If you want to solve a problem,

If you want to remember a friend's phone number and you just can't,

The idea is you sleep on it.

You sleep on it.

And what happens if you let go of the desire of remembering this friend's name or phone number,

If you just let it go,

You can be sure that your subconscious mind will be working overtime.

It will never sleep.

It will never rest until it comes up with a friend's name or phone number.

So,

The subconscious mind never ever retires or sleeps.

Now,

Every single thought that you think in your rational mind is taken by the subconscious as a command to manifest in your life.

But this is a little bit tricky because the subconscious mind has no preference as to whether you're thinking a positive thought or a negative thought.

So,

If you call yourself clumsy 500 times in your rational mind,

Your subconscious takes 500 commands to make you more clumsy because every single thought that you think is taken as a command to manifest in your life.

Therefore,

Be really careful because the subconscious mind has absolutely no preference as to which of your thoughts it takes as a command.

The fact is,

By the time the subconscious mind is convinced that you're clumsy or beautiful or deserving,

Whatever it's convinced of,

It will manifest in your life.

Let us now talk about how to access the subconscious mind.

You can only access the subconscious mind when your brain and thinking mind are very,

Very relaxed.

Now,

I teach a breathing meditation called Kriya Yoga.

You will find at least two or three of my Kriya Yoga breathing meditations on Insight Timer.

Please meditate with those and the kind of breathing that I teach you in those guided meditations will immediately relax your brain wave activity.

As your mind relaxes,

The doors to the subconscious will open up and the subconscious will let you in.

Now,

Once you're in,

I'm going to give you some exercises for uprooting any self-limiting beliefs,

Emotions,

Habits that are holding you back.

So,

Let's talk about cleansing techniques that cleanse your subconscious of any baggage of any negativity that's holding you back.

Number one,

Daily meditation.

Please go to Kambi's Nafisi's Kriya Yoga guided meditations and meditate every day.

While you're in meditation,

Because the brain waves relax,

You actually get into the subconscious mind and whether you know it or not,

During meditation you'll be doing massive cleansing of negativity,

Self-limiting beliefs while you're meditating.

Number two,

Anytime you are awake and living in the present moment,

Your subconscious mind does not interfere with your life in the present moment.

How do I recommend that you step into the present moment?

Two techniques,

Very powerful.

Number one,

Place your attention on the point between your two nostrils and just become mindful that breath is coming in,

Breath is going out.

So,

I'm not asking you to breathe like an athlete.

I'm saying place your attention on the bridge between the two nostrils and just become aware that breath is coming in,

Breath is going out.

As soon as you become aware of the motion of breath,

You'll be bypassing your subconscious mind.

Therefore,

Any negativity that is stored in your subconscious mind will have zero control on you while you're mindful of your breath movement.

The second technique for bypassing any negativity and self-limiting ideas in your subconscious mind is to mind your mind.

What do I mean by that?

The human being is one of the few living creatures that can observe its own mind.

So,

What I recommend you do once in a while,

Just for a few seconds,

Stare at the point between your two eyebrows.

I don't mean becoming cross-eyed.

Just place your attention between your two eyebrows.

Imagine that that's the movie screen of your mind.

You can do this with eyes open.

So,

With attention between your eyebrows,

Imagine that you're looking at your own mind and you just wait and wait to see what the next thought is.

Something cool is going to happen here.

For as long as you're waiting and waiting with curiosity to see what the next thought is going to be,

You're not going to have any thoughts.

But don't worry,

You won't lose your intelligence this way.

As long as you're minding your mind,

Your subconscious mind that might have some negativity in it will not block your progress.

Because as you're staring at your own mind,

You'll be fully present in the present moment where the subconscious mind has no negative impact on you.

By the way,

I keep mentioning negative,

Negative,

Negative.

Your subconscious mind also has many positive notions in it.

So,

That's really not our concern in this talk.

I congratulate you for any positivity that you have in your subconscious mind.

I'm just trying to help you weed out any self-limiting ideas and habits that are blocking your progress.

The third technique for reprogramming any negativity,

Any self-limiting notions for your subconscious mind is to collect direct evidence to the contrary of any negative,

Self-limiting notions,

Beliefs,

Habits that you have.

Let's say you believe that you and nobody in your family has ever been able to make more than $10,

000 a month.

What I'm saying is if you get out there and you earn more than $10,

000 in a particular month,

That becomes a single direct experience,

Which is evidence to the contrary of your previous self-limiting notions about income and money.

Let's imagine that every time you go out on a date,

You fake your personality and you show yourself to be somebody else to the young lady or the young man.

And then one day,

When you get to the date,

You're just more relaxed.

On that date,

For the first 10 minutes,

You're just being yourself.

Right then and there,

You have an aha moment.

You realize,

Oh my God,

For 10 minutes,

I've been totally myself in front of this date and nothing bad happened.

You see,

That's a direct experience.

It's direct evidence to the contrary,

To the contrary of your previous thinking that you have to act like somebody else in order to be accepted by your date.

That's the third technique,

Collecting direct experiences to the contrary of your previous negative thinking.

The fourth technique for reprogramming the subconscious mind,

Repetition,

Repetition,

Repetition.

And through the repetition,

Your subconscious mind learns.

You just keep repeating the proper thing to do.

Keep repeating it until the subconscious mind memorizes that.

Now,

As part of repetition,

You can look in Inside Timer and find my daily affirmations.

My daily affirmations last for about 18 minutes and they are repetitive,

Positive sentences affirming your beauty,

Your worth,

Your high potential,

The number of lives you've touched,

On and on.

So,

Find my daily affirmations CD,

Listen to it once a day because those are repetitive sentences,

Positive sentences.

As you listen to them,

These positive sentences that I'm reciting along with some calming music are going to penetrate your subconscious mind and you start to reprogram your subconscious mind with positive notions.

The fifth technique,

The fifth technique,

Creative visualization.

I mentioned that the subconscious mind likes images and pictures better than words.

What you do in visualization,

You close your eyes,

Sit in a quiet room,

Slow down your breathing,

And then you start to visualize some lovely things happening in your life.

In your visualization,

Bring in the sense of smell.

Smell whatever you're visualizing.

See whatever you're visualizing.

Touch whatever you're visualizing.

Taste whatever you're visualizing.

Bring in your five senses that will make the visualization much,

Much more acceptable and realistic by your subconscious mind.

Sixth technique for reprogramming your subconscious mind,

Teach what you need to learn.

So,

If you are afraid of heights,

Start taking people to mountaineering trips.

As you become a guide in the mountains,

You are battling your own fear of heights.

If you're afraid of commitment in relationships,

Start leading workshops in romantic commitment.

So,

You're teaching what you yourself need to learn.

The seventh technique for reprogramming any negativity in the subconscious mind,

You need to surrender to a higher force.

You know,

In AA,

Alcoholics Anonymous,

One of the steps is to surrender your will to thy will be done.

You surrender to a higher force.

Now,

Here's a very,

Very powerful technique.

If something lies outside the comfort zone of your subconscious mind,

But you really want to develop that new habit,

What you do is you visualize that the next breath coming in is the God force breathing into your body.

And with the next exhalation,

As you breathe out,

Imagine that the God force is now acting through you to take a positive step towards a better life.
