Simply put, this is a short exercise to help you let go of various unwanted emotions and thoughts. I have found that by asking these simple, yet powerful questions helpful in my own healing and want to share them here with you. This technique is taken straight from The Sedona Method, a process to help people let go of negative experiences in order to live the life they want. Enjoy.

Here is a short letting go process that you can do pretty much at any time.

There is no right or wrong way to do this.

You don't have to necessarily have your hands or feet in a certain way.

You can really do this as you're doing pretty much anything.

You can do it with your eyes open or closed.

But this process is really here for you to help you let go of anything that might be on your mind that you no longer want in your life,

In your space,

In your being,

Or just letting go of stress of the day.

So in this space and time,

Can you just stop and pause and just notice what is.

And take the time now to focus on what it is that you want to let go of,

What you want to get rid of.

And is it welcomed?

Is it allowed?

If the answer is yes,

That's fine.

If the answer is no,

That's fine.

If the answer is maybe,

I don't know,

That's fine too.

There are no right or wrong answers.

In this space,

Is it welcomed and allowed?

Is it what's apparently happening?

And just for now,

Could you let it go?

Just could you?

Could you let it go when,

And again,

Let's do that again.

Are the feelings,

The thoughts,

The sensations,

Anything that's coming up,

Is it welcomed?

Is it allowed?

And just for now,

Could you let it go?

Would you let it go when?

And again,

Anything else you're feeling,

Sensing,

Thinking about,

Any sensations,

Sounds,

Images.

Are these things,

Are they welcomed?

Are they allowed?

Could you just let them be here for the time being?

Even if it hurts,

Could you just let it be here?

Can you welcome it just for now?

And could you,

Could you let it go?

Even just for a moment,

Could you let it go?

Would you let it go when?

Good,

Let's do that one more time.

In this space and time,

Just for now,

Just for this moment.

Would you let it go?

Would you let it go when?

Good.

At any point in time,

You can come back and listen to this as much as you need to for various situations and to continue to let go of different situations or even the same one.

Take care.

Beautiful meditation. I love that the beginning allows you some freedom in regards to your body position, in a sense allowing you to ‘let go’ of even the idea of how one ‘should’ sit, at a time in which we might need a little grace and relaxation.
