Welcome to this gentle meditation on self-worth.

Find somewhere quiet to sit or lie down.

Make sure you're warm and in a place where you won't be disturbed.

Then softly close your eyes.

Take a deep breath in and feel it fill your lungs.

Hold it for a moment or two,

Then gently let it go.

Take another deep breath in.

Hold it for a moment or two,

Then release it slowly with a long deep sigh.

Begin to surrender all thoughts of your day and feel yourself softly start to unwind.

Worth means to be important or of value.

It means that something is highly regarded or admired or appreciated.

Worth carries emotion with it,

So it is never easy to judge.

It holds memories of special times and places or of people who have touched your life.

We are often told that we are worthy,

But how do we measure our self-worth?

As children,

Many of us learn to value ourselves according to our achievements.

We receive praise when we are good or gain high grades or achieve some sort of sporting prowess.

We work hard to get the best jobs,

The perfect home,

The perfect life.

We feel we need to prove ourselves to others to gain recognition and to be of value.

Society encourages us to work harder,

Faster,

Better and measures our success by our achievements.

We begin to feel that we need to show something for our efforts or to be someone to earn recognition and acceptance.

It isn't enough to just be ourselves.

We place our worth on material success rather than on who we are as a person.

We are so used to looking externally for self-worth that we forget that it lives within us.

Be gentle with yourself.

Take some time now to tap in to who you really are.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

Feel the slow,

Steady movements of your chest.

As it rises and falls with every breath you take.

Now if you would like to,

Place your hand on your heart.

Feel its gentle beating.

Feel its warmth.

Feel its love.

This love is unconditional.

Always present.

Never wavering.

Always surrounding you in its embrace.

It is the centre of your being.

Feel it surround you.

It is your life force.

Strong and powerful.

Feel its infinite wisdom.

Feel its expansive love.

Breathe into this space.

Just breathe.

Deep within us lies our intuition.

A whisper of our essence.

Our inner knowing.

Our soul shining through.

It never questions who we are.

It knows our value.

It knows our worth.

It's a part of us that guides us home.

It is our kindness.

Our sensitivity.

Our sense of humour.

It is our love of dancing.

Or painting.

Or jumping puddles in the rain.

It is our connection to nature.

Our wonder.

Our sense of adventure.

It is the many,

Many gifts that are unique only to us.

Feel into your own wonder.

Feel its presence.

Feel its peace and quiet.

Feel its infinite love.

Know that you do not have to prove your worth to anyone.

You have a right to be here.

Your presence on this earth is just as vital as the sun that warms us or the stars that light up the night sky.

See the smile that lights up your face.

Feel the love of a hug that you give to others and they give back in turn.

Know your own magnificence.

Recognise your beauty.

You are a divine child of the universe.

How can you not be worthy?

You deserve to be here.

You deserve love.

As a child,

We rarely question our worth.

It is usually when we reach adulthood that the beliefs we have formed and the experiences we have gained,

That determine how we see ourselves.

Society praises our accomplishments,

So we begin to question who we are without them.

We begin to doubt our value if we haven't reached a certain status in life or aren't earning a certain salary.

But we are so much more than our bank accounts or our degrees or the houses we live in.

You are unique to everyone else in the world.

Never doubt that.

Never apologise for who you are.

Every one of us is worthy.

We all have value.

We are all needed and we all have something to contribute.

Keep your hand on your heart and feel the love it holds.

Feel its gentle beating.

Feel its compassion.

Feel the peace within.

Feel the love.

Breathe into this space.

Just breathe.

Know that it is safe to be you.

It is safe to be worthy.

You are allowed to take up space.

You belong.

Now feel a golden ball of love fill you up.

Feel it flow from the top of your head.

Caress your face and neck.

Flow down your shoulders and arms.

To your chest and belly.

Down your legs and feet.

To the tips of your toes.

Feel yourself held in this universal love.

You are inherently worthy.

Your worth is never determined by someone else.

It lies within you.

It is an inner knowing.

It is your soul speaking.

Listen to its wisdom.

Listen to its love.

Feel its presence.

Feel its embrace.

See your worth shining like a beacon.

Inspiring those around you.

Know that you are always worthy of love.

Breathe in.

Breathe out.

And when you are ready,

Softly open your eyes.
