Let's begin by finding a comfortable position.
Allow your body to settle into any position that feels comfortable right now.
Take a moment to simply breathe in naturally,
Noticing how the air moves through your nose or mouth,
Filling your lungs and then leaving your body.
Notice how your chest or abdomen rises and falls with each breath and as you observe your breathing,
Begin to slow it down,
Gently and with ease.
With each inhale,
Feel the air as it nourishes you.
With each exhale,
Allow tension to melt away.
There's no rush,
You have all the time you need to find stillness.
Now imagine with every breath in,
You are inhaling calmness.
With every breath out,
You are letting go of anything that no longer serves you,
Stress,
Worry or any lingering thoughts from the day.
Feel your body softening,
Like a leaf floating down onto a still pond.
There is nothing you need to do right now except be present,
Feel your breath and allow yourself to be comfortable.
Let go of any urge to hold on to the day or the thoughts it brought you.
You are here now,
In this moment and the day is behind you.
Allow yourself to settle into the surface beneath you.
Notice how it fully supports your body,
Cradling you in comfort.
Your entire body is safe,
Held and supported in this moment.
You don't need to do anything but simply allow yourself to sink deeper into this feeling of support,
Letting go of any remaining resistance.
The weight of your body grows heavier but in a comforting way as you release the day's stresses.
Feel your toes relax,
Your feet softening into stillness.
As you let go,
Feel this gentle relaxation spread up through your ankles,
Calves and knees.
Notice the warmth or coolness of the air on your skin and allow this awareness to gently guide you into even deeper relaxation.
Your thighs soften,
Your hips release.
There is no need for tension here.
With each breath,
You are unraveling the tightness stored in your muscles.
Your lower back releases,
Allowing your body to settle fully into the mattress.
Your abdomen rises and falls gently with each breath,
Feeling soft,
Peaceful and at ease.
There is nothing to hold onto right now,
No need to brace or control.
As your body begins to sink deeper into relaxation,
Bring awareness to your feet.
Feel them warm,
Heavy and grounded.
Allow any tension in your toes and the soles of your feet to dissolve,
Feeling them grow heavier as if sinking into the surface beneath you.
Slowly,
Move your attention upward to your ankles,
Your calves and your knees.
With each breath out,
Let these areas become loose,
Soft and at ease.
Imagine your legs becoming heavier and heavier,
Gently anchored to the earth beneath you.
Continue moving upward,
Focusing on your thighs and hips.
Let the muscles in your thighs completely relax.
No need for any tightness or effort here.
Feel the tension evaporating and let your hips sink down deeper,
Feeling supported.
Your whole lower body is now completely relaxed,
Still and at peace.
Shift your awareness to your lower back,
Bringing relaxation to each vertebra as you work your way up your spine.
Imagine warmth spreading along your back,
Loosening every muscle as you let go of the day's weight.
Breathe into any areas that might feel tight,
Sending calmness and ease there.
With every breath out,
Release even more deeply.
As you move higher,
Soften your shoulders,
Allowing them to drop away from your ears.
Any tightness,
Stiffness or heaviness that may have gathered there during the day is now dissolving.
Now bring your attention to your arms.
Let the relaxation flow from your shoulders,
Down through your upper arms,
To your elbows and into your forearms,
Wrists,
Hands and fingers.
Feel your arms becoming heavier,
More relaxed with each breath.
Imagine them growing warm and loose,
With each finger relaxing,
Each muscle releasing.
Your hands may tingle slightly as you sink deeper into comfort,
But this is simply a sign that your body is letting go.
Turn your attention now to your neck,
Jaw and face.
Let your neck soften,
Letting go of any tension it might be holding.
Your jaw relaxes completely,
And your mouth may even fall slightly open as the muscles release.
Let the relaxation spread over your cheeks,
Your temples and your forehead.
Notice how the space between your eyebrows softens,
And your eyes feel heavy but at ease.
Even your scalp feels lighter,
As though it too is relaxing into this calm,
Tranquil state.
You are now fully relaxed.
There is nothing left to hold onto.
The day is behind you,
And tomorrow does not need your attention right now.
In this moment,
There is only peace,
Calm and rest.
Your body feels warm,
Heavy and completely at ease,
While your mind is quieting,
As if a gentle breeze is blowing away any last bits of noise or thought.
If your mind begins to wander,
That's perfectly ok.
Slowly guide your attention back to your breath,
Follow its rhythm,
Feeling the coolness as you breathe in and the warmth as you breathe out.
Imagine now a soft,
Glowing light above you.
This light is warm and soothing.
As you continue to breathe deeply,
Imagine this light slowly descending and enveloping your body.
It's a protective,
Calming energy that washes over you,
Starting at the crown of your head and moving down,
Down through your entire being.
As this light passes through your head,
Your neck,
Your chest and your abdomen,
It carries with it a profound sense of calm,
Easing any remaining tension.
It moves through your legs,
Down to your feet,
Until you are completely bathed in this glowing warmth,
As if you are wrapped in a soft,
Safe blanket of peace.
This is your time,
Your space to relax,
Restore and drift into a deep,
Restful sleep.
Imagine yourself floating gently in this cocoon of light,
Weightless and free.
With each breath,
You sink a little deeper into this feeling of calm,
As though you are being held,
Supported by the universe itself.
You are safe,
You are at peace,
There is nowhere you need to be,
Nothing you need to do.
The world around you is quiet,
And so is your mind.
Each breath you take guides you deeper into relaxation,
Every muscle,
Every fiber of your being is at rest.
Let yourself drift,
Knowing that in this space,
