The very beautiful Prayer of St. Francis. Read by John. Sometimes when we need answers we have to ask out loud for them. This wonderful prayer is a great reminder of how we can meet the world and our lives with greater meaning.

Lord,

Make me an instrument of your peace.

Where there is hatred,

Let me sow love.

Where there is injury,

Pardon.

Where there is doubt,

Faith.

Where there is despair,

Hope.

Where there is darkness,

Light.

Where there is sadness,

Joy.

O Divine Master,

Grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled as to console,

To be understood,

As to understand,

To be loved,

As to love.

For it is in giving that we receive,

It is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

And it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.

Amen.

Beautiful, I hadn’t heard that for some time and it reminded of me of my mother and her faith in love and service of others.

I'm not religious but I like the theme of what you can give rather than what you can get.

Such a beautiful prayer. It reminds me to get out of my self and think of others. If I can just do a couple of these suggestions makes it a good day!🙏

Great prayer. Being raised in a Franciscan parish, I have been using it since childhood. Side Note: Though popularly titled the Prayer of St. Francis, it is more accurate to call it The Franciscan Peace Prayer. It captures Francis’ heart but it was not written by him but arises from Franciscan spirituality.

Thank you. I have always loved this prayer. It has often brought me comfort especially when I was a practicing Catholic, as my deceased parents were. I am grateful to feel the comfort this morning. Thank you 😊
