I'm Jo Hatcher.
These are really tough times that we're living through right now,
And I believe now more than ever it's important that we take care of ourselves so that we support our immune systems and that we're able to be resilient to face all of the unknowns.
So I invite you right now to take a journey with me,
A journey into feeling peaceful and relaxed.
So let's get ready for this journey.
I want you to find a place to get really comfortable and make sure that your legs are uncrossed and perhaps both feet are on the floor.
If you feel like lying down while you listen to my voice,
Feel free to do that.
If you want to close your eyes or keep them open,
Whatever you decide,
Just let yourself be calm and still.
This is your special time and you get to have it exactly the way that you wanted.
So take a minute to scan your body.
Just notice where there might be some tight spots and just let go of any tension you have.
Just allow this tension to drift away.
And as you listen to me speak,
Just allow those tight spaces to soften even more.
There's nowhere for you to be right now,
Just right here.
And there's nothing at all to worry about or think about,
Just this moment.
Notice what your body feels like.
What's it like to just be here without all the distractions?
What do you need right now?
And what are you noticing?
Now I want you to imagine a beautiful place where you would feel totally at peace and relaxed.
A place that feels like you can just be you.
It could be a real place or it could be an imagined place.
You might imagine say like a tropical beach or a forest with lush trees and vegetation.
It could be in your garden or even in your bed.
Look around you.
What colors and shapes do you see?
Are you inside or outside?
What can you hear?
Make this place exactly the way you would love it to be.
What's the temperature here?
Make it the perfect temperature for you.
And what can you smell?
Put in your favorite smells and the sounds that you love.
Now savor this moment.
Know that this is your special place and you can come here anytime you like.
When you feel stressed,
When you can't sleep,
When you're worried about something or you just want a break from everything.
This is your special place.
Take a moment now to really let it sink into your awareness and enjoy it.
Now when you're ready,
I want you to be back here in the present moment feeling refreshed and as if you've had the perfect amount of rest.
Remember that this special place,
This safe place is yours and yours alone.
And you can return here anytime you choose.
It's a good idea to be in your special place every day so that you can feel more ready to solve problems or deal with whatever you have to deal with in a more restful state.
This is a simple practice that I use with my clients and myself.
I believe that when you're relaxed,
Your body is free of tension,
Your mind is more settled,
And this will help you be able to deal with whatever comes your way.
