Welcome back to the five minute,

Five day meditation challenge with Jodi Sealy and welcome to day number four.

Our intention today is to focus on joy and the choice of joy,

Bringing it into our lives,

Just like meditation,

Just like gratitude each and every day.

So I invite you now to get into a comfortable position,

Whether you're choosing to lay down,

Sit up,

Whether you're at home,

At work,

Wherever you are adding this five minutes of meditation to your day.

I'll invite you now to close your eyes.

I will start as always centering our bodies by doing a long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through your nose and then gently letting that go.

And let's do one more long,

Slow,

Deep breath in through our nose and then sighing it out through our mouths,

Allowing your breathing now to return to its normal length and pace.

Joy is a feeling.

It's an emotion.

It's a state of being.

And it's something we have to choose to bring into our lives every single day.

Often we get confused on the journey of joy,

Thinking that it is brought to us externally when ultimately the true feeling of joy comes from within.

And by aligning with ourselves and taking moments like this to grow and recognize the joy within,

We start to find more joy without on the outside.

So with those eyes closed and those deep breaths still continuing to come in,

Focusing on the rise and fall of your chest and your belly,

I want you to picture yourself in a forest.

You can smell the dampness of the soil.

You can see the green of the leaves of the different types of trees and shrubs and bushes around you.

A slight breeze on the wind.

You feel it across your face and your skin.

And with it is just that beautiful smell of nature.

The forest is calm today.

As you walk through it,

It feels relaxing.

It almost brings a smile to your mouth.

As we continue to walk through this forest,

You start to hear the sound of water.

And you know nearby is a creek.

So we walk towards it.

As we get to the edge of this water,

We watch that water dance across the rocks,

Listening to its cool,

Beautiful sounds,

Breathing in its fresh scent.

In this moment,

In this forest,

At this water,

You feel complete joy.

You have nowhere else to be and nothing else to do.

But you just be here now in this joy.

And you breathe it in and you let it go.

As you watch the nature around you in this space of calm,

In this place of peace,

You know that at any given moment in your day,

You can recreate this moment.

You can remind yourself of the beauty of our nature,

Of our world.

You can remind yourself the beauty of yourself.

Each and every moment when the world feels chaotic,

When it feels like there's too many things and not enough time,

Long,

Slow,

Deep breaths in will bring you back to this space,

Back to this moment,

And back to this joy.

And feeling more comfortable in knowing some days you won't feel this,

You won't feel the joy,

And that's okay.

But the next day,

The next sunrise,

The next moment,

You can invite joy to join you for the day.

Like a friend that holds your hand as you walk through the forest.

Just know joy is waiting for you at all times.

You can start now to wiggle your fingers and your toes and become aware of the room around you.

And when you feel ready,

And only then,

You can open your eyes.

Those five minutes go quick,

Don't they?

Thank you for taking part in this five-minute challenge.
