This is a short meditation to tune into your waking body and breath, and to welcome the morning sunlight as you begin the day. You can practice this whilst you are still in bed, still lying down if you wish. This meditation is a part of my course "Energise Your Day: Ayurvedic Morning Routines For Busy People', so if you enjoy the meditation, you might also enjoy listening to the course. Welcome to your morning meditation.

Make sure that you are comfortable.

This morning practice can be done while you're still lying in your bed or come to a comfortable sitting position.

And if your eyes are already open,

Gently close them for now.

Feel into your body.

Feel into your resting body and observe any feelings inside your body.

Just watch as your body peacefully rests.

And observe the small movements,

The small internal signs that your body is waking.

Observe your body signaling to you that it's time to wake up,

Time to begin a new day.

Give the awareness to your breath.

Feel the quiet breath entering and leaving your body.

And now slowly open your eyes and welcome the first rays of sunlight into your day.

Keep your vision soft as the morning sunlight enters into your eyes.

There is no need to concentrate on anything,

Simply allow the light of the morning to enter.

And remain here for a few more moments,

Welcoming your new day.

When you are ready,

Take a long deep breath in and out to end your meditation and begin your day.
