Accepting Your Personal Darkness – Unraveling Shaltazar
This episode unravels the message Shining Light on Your Darkness. We are living through a time of tumultuous energy as the light and dark forces seek balance. This dark energy bubbling to the surface doesn’t feel good, but rather than running away from it and trying to avoid its unpleasantness, Shaltazar invites us to respond without judgement to what comes our way and to instead look for the learning in what we are feeling, for it is from the challenging experiences the most growth occurs.

Hello spiritual seekers!
Welcome to another episode of the Unraveling Shaltazar podcast,
Featuring me,
Mark Lane,
Spiritual seeker,
Writer,
And Shaltazar enthusiast,
Along with the mouthpiece of Shaltazar,
Jeffrey Eisen,
My good friend and collaborator.
For those of you who may be unfamiliar,
Jeffrey is a Toronto-based spiritual life coach,
Teacher,
And channeler of a spiritual entity who goes by the name Shaltazar.
With the help and support of Shaltazar's cosmic wisdom,
It is Jeffrey's mission to assist in shifting the consciousness of our planet.
It is my pleasure to assist Jeffrey in making this marvelous wisdom available to the largest possible audience and to unravel it in an understandable and comprehensible way.
Hello Jeffrey,
How are you today?
Good Mark,
And how are you?
Good!
We've got a bit of snow here,
So I've been.
.
.
My back is tired,
But other than that,
It's all good.
Yeah,
We got some snow as well,
And cold weather,
And just past Valentine's Day,
Which was the,
You know,
The celebration of love.
But everything,
You know,
Every celebration these days with COVID seems to be a little bit different than it has been in the past.
Indeed,
Yeah,
Yeah.
More solitary and more confined,
I would say.
Mm-hmm,
Yeah,
Definitely,
Definitely.
I really am getting a sense that I'm developing an appreciation for the things I took for granted in the past,
And I think that's one of the big takeaways for me,
Is that I think when it's over I will come out with a newfound appreciation for those things that were small,
Trivial,
That you took for granted,
And I'm gonna cherish them a lot more.
Mm-hmm,
Oh yeah.
You know,
What do they say,
That gratitude is the pathway to enlightenment?
Yeah,
I mean,
It's those little things that make a difference,
And that,
You know,
That whole.
.
.
We've talked about the idea,
You know,
Of COVID increasing our awareness.
It certainly has.
I mean,
We've become more aware,
More conscious of our day-to-day existence,
Which is where we spend most of our time,
And so increasing our consciousness in that regard is a huge benefit,
I think.
Oh,
Absolutely.
It's so interesting because yesterday I had one of those lower and slower,
Darker days,
And this morning I woke up and you never know if it's gonna be a trend for the week or if it's going to be a one-of,
And as I got going I could feel the lighter energy,
I could feel myself in a different place,
And I was so thankful that I just didn't feel that despondency,
That despair that I was feeling yesterday.
So just something as simple as feeling a little lighter is a great sense of gratitude,
Whereas I don't think I ever appreciated that.
You just went about the day because,
You know,
If you weren't feeling great,
You'd get out,
You'd do something.
Well,
Now it's a bit more restrictive.
Interesting times.
They are,
And that's actually kind of a perfect segue into the message I chose to talk about today,
Which is shine light on your darkness,
Which the kind of the gist of the message is,
You know,
How do we react or how do we respond to that slower feeling energy and those dark feelings that come up,
You know,
As we're going through all of this.
And the thing I like about it is it gives a lot of very practical advice on how we can respond in a more positive and helpful manner than we might otherwise.
So I guess two things.
I want to obviously talk about the message,
But one of the interesting things about this particular message is it was recorded during a live event,
And I thought maybe you might want to say a little bit about how your channeling works in a live event because you're doing live events on Insight Timer,
I know,
And I just thought maybe that would be an interesting way to start it and then we can kind of dig into some of the details.
Excellent,
Excellent.
Once again,
You're becoming more and more psychic as we work together,
And let me say to the listeners,
That can happen.
My wife and I have been married close to 42 years and there's a real resonance,
A real connection,
And you and I have been working together over a year,
And this isn't the first time that you think something and it's totally in sync with what I'm thinking.
And so,
You know,
Just to let the listeners know,
Don't be surprised if you start getting in sync with someone that you're close to and it's like they're reading your thoughts or you're reading their thoughts.
Because as I listened to that message this morning,
When I saw the title that it was a live shelters are channeling,
I have to say right away I got a little nervous because those live channelings in the beginning the sound quality wasn't that great and it's like,
Oh why did Mark choose that one?
It's like,
Oh no.
But I have to say when I listened to it,
It was like,
Oh that was one of the better live channelings.
And,
You know,
Just to to share with the listeners,
My original connection with with Shaltazar was journaling.
It was all journaled transmissions.
I started by doing personal journaling,
Getting rid of my emotional baggage,
And then I started asking questions and there was this this energy that was coming back answering those questions that I came to know as Shaltazar.
And so even after I finished my sort of personal journaling,
I would always channel Shaltazar in my notebook with doing handwriting.
And through time that evolved a little bit and I decided to have the courage to organize an in-person event.
And so I organized a few in-person events and it was always very interesting.
I had to deal of course with the technical issues of sound quality and the fact that not too many people showed up,
But that was okay.
And so we would stand around in a circle and I would start to channel.
Those tended to be a little bit longer.
And what was really interesting about this message,
Shine light on your darknesses,
The sound quality was pretty good and I was even impressed with how the channel message came across.
So,
And you know,
After those events started to dwindle a little bit,
I went back to to channeling through my journal.
And then within the last one or two years,
I decided to just speak into a voice recorder and channel that way,
Which was sort of emulating more of that live experience,
But in the privacy of my own sanctuary.
And then I would you know,
Convert that audio recording into text and tinker around with it and then record it in a more professional manner.
In the last,
Oh I guess about three months,
I decided to start doing some Insight Timer live events and every three weeks I do one called a Shaltazar live channeling.
I'm doing one tomorrow and it's going to be the third one I did and that's turned out pretty reasonable as well.
Insight Timer doesn't allow you to you know,
To replay them,
So I record them on my voice recorder and then transcribe them and and put them out.
And so Healing the Great Divide,
Which has come out recently,
Was one that was recorded on Insight Timer and also Letting Go of Your Linearity was also one that was channeled on Insight Timer.
So that's how the process of live goes.
Just like I am finding different ways of communicating with Shaltazar,
I truly believe that the energy of the planet is such that there is an opportunity for us to connect in different ways with the higher realm.
So I invite people to play around with different ways,
Different mediums,
Whether it's written,
Whether it's voice recorded,
Whatever it is,
The universe has increased the vibration in such a way that it's easier for us to connect.
So messages are available to all of us.
Tap in and start bringing yourself.
Messages that you may find like I did that have a greater impact on humanity as a whole.
Great.
Yeah,
It's almost like the veil has gotten thinner,
Right?
And it's not as easy,
It's not as difficult to you know,
To see what's going on on the other side.
Right,
Right.
And I encourage people to don't take it too literally.
You and I are working on a project with Sarah Sanguino,
We're doing the Shaltazar oracle cards,
The Wisdom of Shaltazar oracle cards,
And I'm doing a short Shaltazar channel message and you're doing the commentary and I know you've shared with me that that commentary process is a channeling and you don't even remember what it is you bring forth.
So we are all capable of connecting in different ways.
I encourage people to do so and which brings us back to this message because in order to do so your energy vibration has to be at a certain level.
If you're not able to handle the lower and slower,
If you're not able to handle being in your mind and being able to shift out of that,
Then it's going to be a little bit more challenging to get your messages from the higher power.
Right,
Yeah.
One of the kind of the one of the overriding themes in this in this message to me or the thing that spoke to me I guess was the idea that this idea of qualifying the things that happen,
The things that come into our experience,
Right?
Throughout this message Shaltazar is very careful in the use of the words good and bad because they are a they're a qualification that they say that in the spiritual realm or in the cosmic space they don't use.
They don't judge things as good or bad.
They just are and that really kind of hit me because it seems like so many of us and myself included,
Things happen and we want to put them in that good bucket or that bad bucket and if it goes in the good bucket we want to you know we naturally we feel good about it if it goes in the in what we are calling the bad bucket that means that we should you know feel sour or dark or heavier or unhappy or depressed about it and that the kind of the theme of this message was seemed to be that basically they're saying don't do that right?
I mean is that is that an apt statement?
Yeah absolutely absolutely it was interesting when I was listening to this morning at one point they talked about good and bad being in quotation marks and they and they then explained why it was in quotation marks and I'm sort of thinking gee why do you know why they say that right because they made it quite clear and they repeated it several times because the words good and bad and one needs to understand as you channel you are channeling a sensory communication and putting it into your translating it and transcribing it into words so whatever it is they were sending me the easiest way that I got the message is to put it in that good and bad bucket that judgmental bucket and they were trying to emphasize that that's a human construct that that's part of the duality and and they use that that insight to help us understand because a lot of it is is shine light on your darkness and that darkness often gets defined as bad mm-hmm and what's really kind of interesting is they allude to it not as much in that message but in other in other messages that that darkness is your greatest teacher and that that that which we consider bad brings forth probably some of the greatest learning and and they they take some time and explain that you know if you had your druthers you'd probably choose a life of all in the good bucket all right bliss joy all of those things but they they make the point that you're learning and growth would not be as insightful and that that's our purpose for the source is to bring forth greater learning and so that that darkness that bad bucket so to speak the things that happen to us the feelings that we have that are uncomfortable unpleasant quote-unquote bad are the greatest learning for us as human beings as well as for the source itself which I find really fascinating but I will also say it doesn't make it any easier yesterday I had one of those bad days and and knowing that there was great learning in it didn't really help and so I'm still in that process of trying to figure out ways of shining light on my own darkness right right yeah I think that's a that's that's the great challenge in all of this that I just I had highlighted what you just said regarding the learning it said to do that the only power you truly have is how you choose to respond to what comes your way for although human life would be far more enjoyable if all that came your way in the years of your human existence was what you might describe as good pleasant joyful blissful there would be no learning and that's exactly what you just said it's it's it's through those those challenging experiences and us teaching ourselves to respond to them in a non-judgmental way that the learning occurs I believe and it's like school you know I mean if we had our druthers we would we would always take the bird courses that's what they used to call it in my day was it was a bird course you took the easiest course but being challenged mentally and and it's interesting because because I'll never forget I my intention in high school was to go into the family business and I I went to the guidance counselor and I said well I'm probably gonna go into the family business but I really want to go to a tough University a University of Great Standing I want to take really challenging difficult courses and I want to I really want to challenge my intellectual learning so that I'll be better in business and unfortunately this guidance counselor said yeah that's a great idea and so I was in maths and sciences and I went to the University of Toronto which is a a fairly noted University taking the most difficult maths and science courses there were I was fairly I did fairly well in high school in in mass you know finishing you know in the 90s and I'll never forget you know the first math test I took at University I failed and it was like what kind of craziness is is all of this now I guess the greatest learning is I realized that if I was going to succeed in business first of all there was a business course why don't I take business in turn instead of instead of math and sciences and second of all do I really need to challenge myself is that intellectual learning you know really in my highest good so having that experience challenging myself to to the deepest learning probably changed the path of my life and and so you know by choosing the difficult path although we don't like to go through it there is tremendous learning and I'm sure I'm sure if you can go back at some of the most difficult times in your life you will realize now that you've come through them that they offered you great learning all right right yeah I mean you I think that that approaching it from that point of view allows the learning to happen too I think that that you know you could you could go one of two ways right you could either you could either look back on those experiences with a regret and and feel sorry for yourself and and you know complain about you know what happened to you and and and feel part of a victim or one of the one of the interesting things in this message is you know they talk about those those difficult experiences they kind of present the idea that that they are planned perhaps planned by you yourself before you came here to you know they're they're setups that that allow a allow you to work through something that will benefit you in the long run you know like the no pain no gain sort of thing you know you have to lift the heavy weight so your muscles grow and you're gonna be sore for a few days but you're gonna be stronger for the for the for the effort and that's kind of I sense what they're saying here yeah absolutely I love when they talk about the setup by a part of you but your higher self and and and and it's interesting you know you talked about your perspective when you're going through those difficult times and that's one thing that that I've noticed is when I'm going through a challenge I really I find it a bit easier on me knowing that there's great learning and I think that's sort of what they mean shine light on your darkness and and when you're going through those trials and tribulations if you can realize that there is great learning and growth when you're going through them I think it takes a little bit of the sting out the uncomfortableness is still there the unpleasantness is still there but then there's this this higher purpose that and I've really convinced myself that out of out of every time I go through it I've moved to a higher level of consciousness I move to a better understanding of myself and that is true it is definitely true so it's I you know one one tip I give the listeners is when you're going through that difficult time try to be easy on yourself and say okay you know I I know this is like that tough exam I know this is like the first time I rode my bike and I fell off and skinned my knees realize that this difficult challenging experience is going to make your life more fulfilling more enjoyable and and will allow you to move to greater understanding about yourself right right it says the line in here is begin to interpret what you would call the bad events in your life through the lenses of purpose so and and I think if you can with me at least if if I'm able to to achieve that level of awareness when the thing is happening or when I feel that starting to happen it you are able to kind of short-circuit the the negative emotional reaction take a breath and go okay this is a this is a test or this is a challenge or this is there's a reason for this let's just you know you know be patient with it and be patient with yourself and and see where it goes versus you know getting angry and throwing something or swearing or berating yourself or or you know all the other different darker and negative reactions you could have you know there you do we do have the power to choose how we want to respond and that's excellent example you know as you're talking I'm thinking you know us old guys if we ever look back on those years of school when we really fretted and worried and stressed over a test or an exam if we knew then what we know now we would have gone into that test a little bit more chill a little bit more at ease a little less stress right I mean I would wouldn't you it's like definitely the big scheme of things what the hell you know if I didn't get 90 and I got 70 or I get 60 who the hell cares right you know you know we spent all that time learning mathematics and now the computers do it all right so the point I'm trying to make is if you go back into those stressful times for example in school and you realize I really would have chilled out a little bit more I really would have taken the pressure off then why don't we do that now why don't we think of these these challenging days these trials these tribulations whatever it is we're going through as that exam and you realize that the future you would look back at what you're going through today and would say exactly what you and I are saying about those exams yeah take it easy chill out you know don't take it so seriously and so I think that's really important to put it into perspective when we were going through those exams there was no way we could take it lightly because we thought it was do or die we thought it was the most important thing those marks and excelling and and and and getting into university or college or whatever but in the big scheme of things it wasn't and so I think that's what they're suggesting when they say shine light on your darkness is realize that if you can put it into perspective in terms of a whole lifetime and and and ease up on it you will find that the learning is even greater great right that's a that's that's a really good way to to approach life in general I think it allows you a certain sense of detachment and in the ability to treat everything is you know we're living in one big school right yeah absolutely so it's interesting that we used examples of school right right is those those tend to be stressful for most people you know I don't know about you but I don't know that many people that that breeze through school it tends to be you know some of those traumatic memories that we have and so I I think that you know you're comparing life to to schoolhouse earth or being in school is an appropriate one excellent beautiful message you chose I can't believe I think our time is is probably just about up it it is yeah yeah we we sped through another another episode so yeah thank you so much for choosing that just that final reminder try to find some light in your darkness no matter how difficult how challenging certainly the pandemic is is is providing us with some really difficult and challenging times just put it into perspective and think about your future you how you would be looking at what you're going through right now and maybe try to shine a little bit more light on that darkness excellent Thank You Jeffrey Thank You mark take care love and light to everyone
