Good evening.
If you're listening to this,
Chances are you've had one of those nights where your body is tired,
But your mind simply won't settle.
Maybe you've been replaying conversations.
Planning tomorrow.
Wondering about the future.
Or perhaps you don't even know why you're awake.
Whatever brought you here tonight,
You don't need to solve it now.
For these next few moments,
We're simply going to create space for rest.
Not perfect sleep.
Not forcing anything.
Just rest.
Allow yourself to get as comfortable as possible.
Let your body settle naturally into the mattress beneath you.
Feel yourself being completely supported.
Take a slow breath in through your nose.
And gently out through your mouth.
Again breathing in.
And slowly releasing.
One more time.
Allowing the exhale to become just a little longer than the inhale.
There's nowhere to be at this time.
Nothing left to accomplish today.
Today is complete.
You have done enough.
And you are enough.
Now allow your attention to move to your forehead.
Imagine smoothing away every line of tension.
Relaxing the tiny muscles around your eyes Softening your cheeks.
Unclenching your jaw.
Letting your tongue rest gently inside your mouth.
Notice if your shoulders have been quietly carrying the weight of the day.
Without forcing them.
Simply invite them to soften.
Allow your arms to become heavy.
Your hands relaxed.
Bring your awareness to your chest.
Notice your heartbeat without trying to change it.
Feel your breath gently rising and falling.
Nothing about your breathing needs to be different.
Your body already knows what to do.
Allow your stomach to soften Release any need to hold it in.
Your hips become heavy.
Your legs completely supported.
Your feet relaxed.
Your whole body resting.
If thoughts continue to appear,
That's okay.
Thoughts are not a sign that you're doing this wrong.
The mind thinks.
That's what minds do.
Tonight we're simply changing our relationship with those thoughts.
Imagine you're sitting beside a quiet river.
Every thought that appears is placed onto a small leaf.
Without judgment.
You simply place it onto the water.
Watch it gently float downstream.
Another thought appears.
Place it on another leaf.
Watch it drift away.
You don't need to stop thinking.
You only need to stop following every thought that appears.
Gradually,
There becomes more space between each thought.
More quiet.
More stillness.
Notice the feeling of your breath.
Cool air entering.
Warm air leaving This breath.
Is happening now.
Not tomorrow.
Not yesterday.
Only now.
Each exhale tells your nervous system you are safe.
Each inhale gently nourishes your body.
You may notice yourself becoming heavier.
Your eyelids suffer.
Your breathing slower.
If sleep comes,
Welcome it.
If it doesn't.
That's okay too.
Because resting is healing.
Even when you're awake.
Sometimes we put so much pressure on ourselves to sleep.
That the pressure itself keeps us awake.
So tonight.
.
.
There is nothing to achieve.
Nothing to force.
No finish line.
Only this moment.
Only this breath.
Imagine now that your mind is like a snow globe.
Perhaps earlier today,
It was shaken.
Thoughts spinning everywhere.
Emotions moving quickly.
Without doing anything.
Simply imagine placing the snow globe down.
Little by little,
The snow begins to settle.
Not because you're controlling it.
But because you've stopped shaking it.
The same is true for your mind.
Stillness doesn't come from force.
It comes from allowing.
Now silently repeat these words to yourself.
I don't need to solve tomorrow,
Tonight.
I don't need to have every answer before I rest.
My body knows how to sleep.
I trust it.
I release today.
I welcome rest.
Take another slow breath.
And another.
Allow your awareness to become softer.
Less focused.
As though your attention itself is drifting into the background.
If you lose track of my voice,
That's perfectly okay.
If you fall asleep.
That's exactly as it should be.
If you're still awake.
Simply continue resting.
Your body knows the way.
Your mind doesn't need to lead.
From this point forward,
I'll speak less.
Allowing more space for silence.
Simply rest.
You are safe.
There is nothing to do.
Simply breathe.
Rest.
Let go.
Sleep is welcome.
Whenever it arrives.
As my voice gradually fades into the background.
Allow yourself to drift wherever your body naturally wants to go.
Thank you for allowing me to share this quiet moment with you.
May your night be peaceful.
Your body restored.
And your heart held in gentleness.
Good night.
