This meditation will help you connect with your deep inner wisdom that is held in your gut area.

This area is also linked to your heart area and your brain.

Settle yourself in and get really comfortable.

Move your body around if you need.

Close your eyes.

Allow your breaths to become a little longer and a little deeper for the next few breaths.

Then let your breath resume in its natural rhythm.

Gently place one or both of your hands on your gut or stomach area.

This is the centre of your wise mind,

Your gut instinct.

It holds deep inner wisdom.

To find this area in your body,

It can be helpful for your little finger to touch your belly button.

The area above your belly button,

Underneath the palm of your hand,

Is your wise mind.

Before we access your wise mind,

Let's do a short body scan to help relax your body and mind.

As you breathe,

Slowly and gently bring your attention to the top of your head,

Your eyes,

Your cheeks,

Your jaw,

Letting everything relax and let go.

Bring your attention to your neck and shoulders,

Your arms and hands,

Your upper back,

Your lower back,

Your chest and stomach,

Letting everything soften,

Relax and let go.

Bring your attention to your hip and buttock area,

Your upper legs,

Your lower legs,

The tops of your feet,

The soles of your feet,

Your toes.

Again,

Letting everything soften,

Relax and let go.

Now bring your attention to the area underneath your hand,

Your wise mind,

Your gut instinct.

Take two or three long,

Deep breaths,

Noticing your stomach rising and falling,

Rising and falling.

If you've had any questions,

Worries or concerns you've wanted answered lately,

Gently,

Slowly and mindfully ask your wise mind the question and wait for an answer to come.

Try not to think of the answer,

Let the answer come from your gut area.

The answer might be as simple as you will get through this,

Or what you feel is real,

Or it might be deeper and a more complex answer.

There's no right or wrong answer.

If no answer comes,

That is okay.

Just the process of slowing,

Relaxing and calming your body is very restorative,

And an answer may come at another time.

Continue to notice your breathing.

Notice how you feel.

When the time feels right,

Slowly and gently open your eyes and notice the room around you.
