Close your eyes now and just relax.
Today we are going to meet your protector.
Your protector is the part of you that's been looking out for you and keeping you safe from risks.
Perhaps it's been protecting you from rejection,
Disappointment,
Complexity,
Success,
Failure,
Or something else.
Usually our protector is seen as something to get rid of,
To be overcome.
But we can acknowledge the role our protector has played in our life and thank it.
As you lie or sit here with your eyes closed,
Starting to relax,
Just feel the relaxation start to slide down your head,
Down over your forehead.
Allow your face to relax.
Let your shoulders slump.
Feel the relaxation rolling down your arms,
Into your hands and fingers.
Feel it rolling down your back and your torso,
Down your legs and into your toes as you just get more and more relaxed and comfortable.
Notice your breath coming in and out of your body.
Feel it coming in and out naturally,
Bringing you fresh clean air.
And take a nice deep breath now in through your nose.
Hold the top for a moment and then let it all go.
And I wonder if you can do that one more time for me,
A nice deep breath in through the nose,
Hold at the top and then let it all go.
Now I want you to scan your body and notice anywhere you might be feeling tension,
Anxiety.
Just let that part of you relax.
Let any thoughts and feelings that drift through your head just float on by like a cloud.
And now as you notice your breath coming naturally in and out of your body,
I want you to start to feel your energy.
I want you to start to feel the energy of your protector.
Whatever that might feel like or look like,
Just allow it to come.
Now allow your protector to take a form and stand in front of you.
What does this protector look like?
It could be a person or an animal or an object.
Whatever it is,
Is absolutely perfect.
Say to your protector,
Hello protector,
Thank you for being here all these years keeping me safe.
Now ask your protector,
What's a time when you kept me safe from something risky?
Ask it,
What were you protecting me from?
And then ask it,
What might have happened if you hadn't been there?
Your protector has been there for you for so long,
But now here it is in front of you.
It's been so underappreciated,
Perhaps even disliked.
As you take the courageous steps to change your life and expand who you are and know who you are,
Your protector is uncomfortable.
Ask your protector now,
What is it worried about now?
Your protector has been working for you for so long,
It's still looking out for you.
Thank your protector and ask it,
What message does it have for you now,
Now that you no longer need its protection?
Ask it,
What can you be for me now?
And finally,
I want you to ask your protector,
What's possible for me now as I move forward?
Your protector has been so helpful for so long,
Let your protector know that you are safe now,
And that it doesn't need to worry so much.
Let your protector know that you're grateful for everything it's done,
But it can be something else now,
It can rest now.
And once you've done that,
Turn your attention back to the energy in your body.
Notice how it feels,
If it has a shape,
A color,
Temperature.
Notice where in your body you're feeling your energy now.
Notice how it's different than before.
Just sit with this energy now,
Noticing it,
Loving it,
Being grateful for it.
And now,
Just lock it in with a nice deep breath in through the nose,
Hold at the top,
And then let it all out,
Feeling that energy through your whole body as you breathe out.
And notice the breath coming in and out of your body naturally now,
And start to wiggle your fingers and your toes.
Give a nice big stretch,
Notice how it feels to be supported by the chair or the bed that you're sitting on.
And when you're ready,
Open your eyes and come back into the room.
