Lord Jesus,
You who wrapped Yourself in humility and love.
Though You were King of Heaven,
You knelt to wash the feet of those You created.
You fed the hungry,
Touched the leper,
Wept with grieving,
And gave Yourself up for us,
Even to death on the cross.
I praise You not just for what You did,
But how You did it.
With gentleness,
With mercy,
With steadfast compassion,
You did not grasp at greatness,
But emptied Yourself so that we might be filled.
Teach me,
Lord,
To give in the same way.
Rid me of selfish ambition and pride that longs to be served.
Let me not seek titles or applause,
But opportunities to love in secret.
May I be the one who stays behind to clean up,
The one who notices the quiet pain behind someone's smile.
Let the smallest acts of kindness flow from a heart that beats like Yours.
Open my eyes to the needs around me,
And make me quick to act,
Not with reluctance,
But with joy.
Let my hands be gentle,
My words be healing,
And my presence be peaceful.
When I am tired or overlooked,
Remind me that You too were rejected,
Yet You served anyway,
Without complaint,
Without hesitation.
Holy Spirit,
Shape in me a new heart,
A servant's heart that listens first,
Loves deeply,
And leads by kneeling.
Let service never become a burden,
But a holy offering,
An echo of Your love poured out.
I surrender my comfort,
My convenience,
And my control.
In their place,
Give me the courage to serve,
The grace to forgive,
And the strength to keep going when no one else sees.
May my life be a living prayer,
Silent when needed,
Bold when called,
Always reflecting You.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
