The Pilgrimage Of Business

In episode 78 of the Biz Alchemy podcast, Jacquelyn introduces the concept that business is a pilgrimage. Who’d have thought that starting a business was comparable to going on a long pilgrimage?
She explores how the internal truth-seeking that a pilgrimage encourages is exactly the same as the internal journey that a conscious entrepreneur encounters in their business journey. It truly is one of the greatest self-development journeys you will undertake to catapult you along your soul’s path.

Hello and welcome back.

Great to have you here.

Today we have the energy of the Sagittarius full moon which is a super moon.

So if you are listening to this on the day it's being released,

We have that energy right now permeating this and I'm recording it the day before so I'm still sitting in that energy and being a super moon like this moon is really shining a light on your business path.

It's closer to the earth so its effect can be felt more fully so as it shines its light down on your business path.

Does this path feel like a pilgrimage?

A pilgrimage is a journey that you go on to bring you closer to yourself,

To bring you more self-awareness,

To take you in and find your truth.

But very often that journey comes about through an external journey and that is the purpose with a pilgrimage.

It's not so much about the destination,

It's about the journey that you go on within while you're traveling.

Now in a recent newsletter,

You may have read it if you're on my newsletter list,

I was talking about how business is this amazing self-development journey and the word pilgrimage just popped out as I was typing my newsletter and it really stood out for me.

I thought oh my gosh this really is a pilgrimage that we're on the moment we decide to go into business.

Let's compare it to the well-known pilgrimage of the Camino.

So you're going to walk the Camino,

You're maybe leaving Saint-Jean-Pierre de Porres which is a common place to leave for the Camino in France and then you're walking across northern Spain to finish at Santiago de Compostela in northwest Spain.

I haven't walked the Camino,

So I'm using this as a comparison without actually having done it.

I have driven it backwards from Santiago de Compostela but I don't think that counts so we'll ignore that right now.

But okay,

You're going on the Camino.

I have a few friends that have done it and I've read a few books on it so I feel like I've been there and I've been to both of those locations so I think that holds enough weight to share this story with you.

So before you go you know your destination,

You go that's where I'm going to on this walk and you prepare as best you can without really knowing what it holds because you've not done this walk before.

You don't know what it entails physically,

Mentally,

Emotionally other than the stories you've heard so you get prepared probably physically is how you're mostly prepared.

Maybe a little bit mentally,

Not always so much emotionally and so in many ways actually that's where the real internal pilgrimage comes in because often you're not prepared emotionally for where the journey is going to take you.

So you know you set off and maybe after three days you've got huge blisters because you're not used to walking so far or you've got your new boots and you hadn't worn them in properly and suddenly you find yourself frustrated because you know you knew your destination,

You knew it took you about 40 days to get there.

You had sort of thought well I'll probably stay here and I'll stay here and I'll stay here and then suddenly day three you've got these blisters,

You can't walk anymore,

Your frustration comes in,

Maybe the way you speak to yourself becomes very obvious.

You know so this the internal journey then starts because very often we have set ourselves a timeline and we have expectations around it,

Around getting to that destination and as you go on the journey and unexpected things arise and you are almost forced to go internally,

Go within,

Well then the real journey starts and in that real journey you learn more about yourself,

You go deeper into yourself,

You uncover some of those truths and those truths might also be uncovered through people you meet on that journey,

Through maybe support that you receive on that journey,

Insight that's given to you from people you meet on that journey and eventually when you get to your destination,

When you get to that cathedral in Santiago de Compostela,

There is relief,

There is celebration that you've done it but I also think for many people it's actually an honouring of the journey they went through,

Of every day of that journey rather than the fact that they arrived at their destination and this is what business is all about,

This is the pilgrimage of business.

You think you're going into business,

You've got your destination,

Your destination is you're going to be your own boss and you're going to financially support yourself or whatever your destination is,

You go into business with that destination in mind and you thought that was the reason you know or whatever your reasons were,

That's why you're doing this but I just want to give you another perspective.

Your soul was actually fast tracking your personal evolution so what it's done is it's teamed up with the business entity and said okay how's this for Jacqueline,

How about you come in right now and she'll be inspired to connect up with you and co-create this journey because she's expecting x y and z so you step in and go well I can help you get to x y and z but actually what we're actually going to do is we're going to fast track her personal evolution,

That's why you're coming into her life right now.

You know so it's like your soul and your business entity sort of plotted behind your back really and led you in with this belief that wow I'm just going to create this amazing business,

I'm going to be supported financially and all is well in my world.

There's the business journey.

So what is it for you?

What's the self-development?

What is the personal evolution?

What is the self-development that you've experienced through being in business?

And maybe it was something that you didn't even recognize as sort of an energetic block or an issue or you just didn't realize the power it had over you in your life and how it was holding you back from really until you went into business.

And suddenly that thing came up.

And I know for so many of my clients that has been about speaking their truth,

Speaking up for themselves,

Expressing who they are,

Expressing their gifts,

Like a lot to do with the throat chakra and very much the solar plexus as well about worthiness and self-love.

It's huge.

They're huge things.

And we might be vaguely aware of them,

But business magnifies them.

And this is why it's a pilgrimage.

And this is what my solstice retreat is about.

It's a petite retreat,

A two-hour retreat.

And in that time,

We will be connecting with your soul,

Highlighting,

Shining a light on your soul's journey and how your business plays a part in that,

How it is supporting you to step onto this path,

To take each step guided by your soul,

Guided by your intuition,

Guided by the earth,

Guided by the divine intelligence that is there surrounding you every moment of every day.

And when you grasp this,

When you really appreciate that your business is a pilgrimage,

That it is fast-tracking the journey of your soul path and that your journey is unique,

Then in actual fact,

The destination is no longer important.

It becomes about the journey.

It becomes about the pilgrimage.

I also just want to touch on another aspect to this concept of your business being a pilgrimage.

Our society is changing and we are moving from an old paradigm into a new paradigm.

We are shifting from the age of Pisces into the age of Aquarius.

And we are starting to see the crumbling around us now of institutions perhaps that really represented the age of Pisces that no longer will not journey with us into the Aquarian age.

And a part of you choosing to go into your own business at this time,

A part of you choosing to express your gifts to the world through your business,

In collaboration with your business at this time,

Has been to start separating you from these old institutions,

From these old ways of being.

So you are a pilgrim into a new way.

And as these old systems crumble,

There will be more and more people going on this personal pilgrimage through their business,

Through creating a business.

Because this is about moving into our sovereignty.

This is about us individually.

But then how the gathering,

The community of those individuals comes together to create a beautiful harmonic.

And you're at the forefront of this.

So in many ways,

You could look at humanity being on a pilgrimage right now.

And your decision to be in business,

Your own business at this time,

Makes you almost like a pioneering pilgrim,

If you like.

Because what you're creating in your business,

Sharing your gifts in a way that's unashamedly you.

You know,

This is who I am.

This is what I have to share.

And to keep going on that inner journey as you're sharing those gifts.

This is pioneering.

And there are going to be more and more people doing this.

But you're leading the way right now.

And this is your pilgrimage.

And when you're a pioneer on the pilgrimage,

It's actually harder.

Because you're forging the path.

You're creating the path while doing your own internal stuff.

So honour yourself in this.

Honour yourself as a pioneer pilgrim in this new way of being.

It's a new way financially.

It's a new way spiritually.

It's a new way culturally.

And this is where your pilgrimage is taking you.

It's very,

Very exciting.

And you've chosen to go on this pilgrimage through business because you are ready.

You are ready to be who you came here to be.

You are ready to be the full embodiment of your truth.

Your soul chose this time right now,

A very powerful time.

And you have chosen this path with your business to really expand the energies of this time,

If you like.
