The house wakes up slowly,
Just like me.
First a light here,
While the outside world is dark.
Then some warmth there,
As the radiators clank and hiss.
Welcome to your waking up,
No matter the time of day.
As there is more light to see on the outside,
Light that illuminates grey corners,
Let silence shine inside,
Melting away distractions.
When gloom fades,
What is it that you are able to perceive?
Sitting here,
Wake up your physical self,
Part by part,
So that you make connections with how you think of your body.
These are your feet,
Grounding you,
And your legs,
Your waist,
Your chest,
Your arms,
And your head,
Each doing their part.
And somewhere inside live your emotions.
Where do you feel your feelings?
From what depth do they come?
What matters,
Of course,
Is that they do come,
That they have some pathway up and out,
Some avenue of expression.
Do what you can to open the way.
Opening cobwebs fall away,
And we enter a new territory,
And we perceive ourselves differently,
So that we are in fact different.
We are more ourselves when we let our insides show,
For our essence is exposed and our being is out.
May you this day see yourself with fresh eyes.
As you see yourself differently,
So will your world be different.
Your gift today is perception.
