Bell May you enter this day with gratitude.
No matter your age,
So much has already happened.
People,
Events,
Sun,
Rain,
Nights and days,
All the past propels us to this moment,
The moment of a new day.
It is like the fine dew on the morning grass that awaits your step.
Hold your first step a while longer and be in silence.
Even as a single leaf swings gracefully and slowly to join its comrades on the ground,
Let yourself fall quietly into meditation.
Swing gracefully down into yourself.
Once home,
Feel the solidity of your body.
This is your shape and form.
Right now,
Find some appreciation for all that your body is and does for you,
As it expresses you in earthly form.
Appreciate yourself from your feet and legs,
Up through your waist and chest to your arms,
Neck and head.
Now,
Locate that single feeling out of all those floating down like that leaf.
Find it and protect it on its way.
Relief,
Anger,
Grace,
Love,
Sadness,
Whatever it is,
Honor it and express it.
For then you express yourself.
And now,
Down deep,
Encounter your essence lying patiently under all distractions.
Everything comes and goes,
Even life itself,
While your essence survives day to day,
Past and future.
Join me and all the others as we enter this day.
Do so with the ease of a leaf enjoying its lazy journey earthward,
As it floats to its new home.
Your gift today is grace.
