Welcome to this day.
My dog Zoe comes in the room over to where I sit and lies down firmly up against my leg.
I didn't call her.
She didn't ask permission.
She just came.
Her black and white body is now stretched out on the rug,
Content.
Zoe came in without noise.
Let silence come in and lie at your feet,
Warming you with its presence.
Feel the acceptance and companionship of the quiet world.
Thoughts come,
Thoughts go,
And always you have yourself.
Sitting here,
Come back to your body so that you come into your body.
Quietly notice the parts of your physical being.
Your toes and feet on the floor.
Your legs and knees supporting you.
Your midsection holding your organs.
Your chest with your heart and lungs.
And your head with your face.
Now notice what emotion comes in to rub up against your consciousness,
Quietly announcing its presence.
Perhaps the feeling doesn't require anything except to be your quiet companion,
Stretched out at your feet.
Your spirit is already present,
Hovering around,
Noticeable if not tangible,
Pervasive if not demanding.
You are,
Of course,
Not so much someone with a spirit as someone who is spirit.
Remember and imagine how noticeable and pervasive you are as spirit.
May you find this day accepting of who you are.
Your gift today is acceptance.
