One lone star,
Surprisingly bright,
Lingers after night to greet this sleepy,
Anxious earthling.
The importance of earthly concerns dwindles with the darkness,
And this tiniest light hangs in the sky,
Asks nothing,
And reminds us we are here only to shine.
Beyond all the rooftops,
The whole huge sky silently carves out this corner of the universe for us,
Our home in the heavens.
Now,
When you sit in meditation,
Join the silence of the stars.
Your body,
Offers you a home in this creation.
Your form is the physical expression of who you are today.
No judgments.
This is you.
Your toes and feet,
Your legs and knees,
Your middle and chest,
Your shoulders and arms,
Your hands,
Neck,
And head.
Give your attention to what feelings are shining through.
They seek only to be seen,
Faint or fierce,
Gentle or growling.
The one feeling that shows up is the only one that can.
So,
Here it comes,
A glistening star or a shooting star.
Shining underneath is spirit,
Always spirit.
The one fire that never goes out.
Consider how you might feed the fires of your spirit today from both the outside and the inside.
May you be as much spirit today as body.
Your gift today is a star.
