Hello and thank you for being here and in this video we are going to break some myths regarding meditation there are so many misconceptions about this thing meditation and yeah i remember when i like many years ago i was Watching on television these monks,

They were wearing those orange clothes on them and they were meditating in India and I felt like.

No no thank you i didn't really see myself in this image and many people think that this is meditation that if If only if you are a monk or a celibate,

Then you can do meditation.

No,

You can definitely have sex if you feel like it.

Sex is amazing.

And you can eat meat if you want.

You don't have to be vegan.

You don't have to be spiritual if you don't feel like it.

And you don't have to wear in a specific way or to be a religious devotee,

You know,

You can stay yourself,

Be yourself and also do meditation because those are two different things.

You know,

Meditation is one thing.

It's this technique that will cultivate awareness.

You will cultivate more awareness to yourself.

You will know yourself in deeper levels.

It will lead to more relaxation,

Also more happiness,

More health in your system.

So this is one thing,

Meditation.

And being a monk is something completely different.

The only correlation is that monks practice meditation,

But you can also practice meditation and you can love money if you want.

You can be rich,

You can aim to be rich,

You can be a parent,

You can be a businessman,

You can be an artist.

You can have a messy life and still do meditation because meditation is simply a beautiful technique for you to cultivate awareness and to have much more connection with yourself.

Another misconception around meditation is that you control your thoughts or that you can only think positive thoughts.

You are not allowed to think negative thoughts.

No,

You can think whatever it is that comes to your mind.

Whatever perverted thought that comes to your mind is okay.

You are a human being.

Meditation is not about stop thinking completely.

It's about being aware to your thoughts,

Accepting yourself,

Accepting your thoughts,

Not trying to change anything.

Coming with this violent approach of restricting things.

No,

You can continue to think whatever it is that you think.

The idea is just that you want to be more aware.

And as you are more aware,

A lot of times these things dissolve,

Right?

Because you are not investing any energy in resisting them.

You are just becoming an observant,

Just becoming aware.

What is alive in me right now?

What thought arises in me right now?

Another misconception is that you have to do it for many,

Many hours.

No,

You can do it for the amount of time that feels right for you.

Meet yourself where you're at.

I want you to enjoy it.

I love to meditate.

I do it for fun.

For me,

It's fun,

And I want it to be fun for you.

I want you to come with curiosity and with playfulness.

It's not about something you have to persevere like this challenging thing that you come and you say now I need to sit for meditation for one hour no sit for as much as you want I want you to enjoy it see if you can enjoy it okay so it's not about going to the edge and suffering.

It's not about that.
