Good morning everybody,

Welcome to In The Flow with Lori Alibert.

It's going to be a really good day.

I can just tell.

I can just tell.

The energy is shifting and it seems like the energy is shifting.

It's interesting because I don't know why I said that but then I realized that goes along with really what I wanted to talk about today.

Right after Thanksgiving,

There seems to be every year sort of like an energy shift that happens.

We gear up towards Thanksgiving and spiritually wise,

We sort of get into that place of gratitude which is great,

Right?

You know because it's Thanksgiving and da da da.

And then we switch over kind of to this place of compassion.

I like to believe.

And it's so interesting because my husband and I,

We love watching,

Especially right now watching the Hallmark Channel and Lifetime Channel and those movies that are Christmas movies.

Now they've been playing Christmas movies for like over a month and my daughter gets so mad when she's like,

You're not supposed to watch Christmas movies yet,

You know,

Kind of thing.

But now I'm allowed to so it's all good.

It's so funny because we needed that break from the down energy and the crazy energy that was going on on Earth and our country,

All of that stuff.

And in the world,

You know,

Coronavirus,

Elections,

All of that stuff,

Right?

We needed a break from it.

So we started watching it a long time ago,

Right?

But now after Thanksgiving,

It's like those types of movies that were,

We sort of,

It took us out of our reality and put us into this little bubble of joy and this little bubble of compassion,

You know,

For that short period of time.

You're taken away from all that icky stuff.

So now we can focus on those really cool,

Cute little movies and live into that.

And it makes me think about,

You know,

Compassion.

We,

We spend so much time thinking about,

You know,

Thanksgiving and all of this stuff and all throughout the year,

Which we try really hard to focus on the positives in life,

Right?

But for some reason,

It's like this time of year in between,

You know,

Thanksgiving and the end of the year,

There's this,

This feeling of compassion that kind of takes over.

And I was so drawn to the idea,

I wouldn't say the idea of compassion because,

You know,

Just the,

The elements of compassion prior to Thanksgiving.

Why can't it just be this way all the time?

You know,

I mean,

This is like the naive Lori talking,

I think,

You know,

Because,

You know,

I,

I wanted to,

I want us to be compassionate all the time.

Why can't we just be compassionate all the time and be just a little bit more patient,

You know?

And instead of like getting mad at that,

That person that cuts us off in traffic,

Go to the place of like,

Oh,

Maybe something's going on in their life that they have to get somewhere fast.

You know,

Why can't we do that all year round?

So today I want to focus our meditation on compassion and the Sanskrit word and David G actually pointed this out and I find this so interesting.

You guys are going to be so like,

Whoa.

The Sanskrit word for compassion is karuna.

Not to be confused with Corona virus.

So how interesting is that?

This virus has sort of the Corona virus has sort of,

In a sense,

I like to think made us maybe just a little bit more compassionate for each other and what we are all going through.

So the Sanskrit word for compassion is karuna.

Right?

So,

I mean,

It's just like this is the year of compassion.

Or this was the year.

I hope so.

So anyway,

So today I want to focus on compassion and actually it's sort of being compassion.

It's that it's time it's,

Oh my gosh,

I'm so tired of everybody,

Me and everybody nitpicky with each other and and you know all of that.

It's time to show and to be compassion.

Right?

So let's get ourselves comfortable.

We're going to sit.

I'm sitting cross legged today.

I'm sitting cross legged today.

Arthritis be darned.

Trying to be nice.

So okay,

So let's get ourselves comfortable.

Oh,

Man,

Let's take let's let our eyes go closed.

Let's take a nice,

Really deep breath in.

Breathe in through your nose out your mouth.

So breathe in.

Letting your lungs fill up and release.

That first deep breath of the day.

Nothing better.

Nothing better.

Let's take another long,

Deep,

Deep breath in really slow.

And release.

So perfect.

So as we get ready to sit in our silence for just a few minutes.

The Sanskrit word for compassion is karuna.

So our mantra today is karuna hum.

Karuna hum is I am compassion.

Or you could also sort of translate it to compassion is my true nature.

Compassion is my true nature.

Imagine if the world could have compassion as its true nature.

But again,

That ripple effect,

It starts with us.

If we can start that wave,

That wave of compassion,

Imagine what the world can be like.

Even if it's just our own personal little world.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

And let that vibration of the word sink in to our being.

Say the words out loud right now and feel the vibration of the words karuna hum.

Feel that vibration in your chest,

In your heart chakra and allow it to sink in.

If you lose the mantra or if you start thinking other thoughts,

Just gently push them aside and come back to your breath.

Focus on your breath and karuna hum.

I will keep the time.

And let's begin.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Karuna hum.

Let's start bringing our awareness back to our bodies.

You can release the mantra,

Karuna hum,

But know that you can go back to that anytime.

Let's take a nice deep breath in through your nose and release,

Releasing our own compassion to the world.

Awesome.

Whenever you feel comfortable,

You can open your eyes.

It's perfect.

I could have kept going.

I actually,

I may go back and meditate a little bit more.

So thank you guys so much for joining today.

I really appreciate it on this.

It's like,

I feel like the energy is revived.

Like there's new energy.

It feels really good and it feels really positive,

Right?

Awesome.

So until next time,

I really,

Really appreciate each and every one of you and thank you for joining.

Have a beautiful day.

Namaste.
