Hello,
And welcome to this guided practice to help you connect to your intuition.
Some of you might know me from my lunar cycle meditations,
Which are often very visualization based and in this practice we're going to work with a mantra.
So I just wanted to briefly explain how that's going to work for those of you who aren't used to mantra meditation.
A mantra is simply a sound that you repeat,
Either silently or out loud,
That can help you settle the mind and bring you back to yourself.
And the mantra we'll be using here is So Hum.
So Hum.
In Sanskrit,
So means I am that and Hum means I am.
Together it connects you to a deeper sense of self beyond the noise of the mind.
So when we get to the point in this practice where I ask you to repeat it,
Just let it be very light.
Just imagine the mantra like a butterfly resting gently in your hands.
You can't hold onto it too tightly and you can't hold onto it too softly or it will fly away.
So you're not gripping or controlling it,
You're just keeping it softly there.
When I was learning to meditate,
This was a really nice image that helped me to keep my attention soft.
So I'm going to ask you now to gently close your eyes and just take a moment to arrive and let your body settle exactly as it is and just feel the weight of yourself being held,
The ground beneath you supporting you.
Take a slow breath in through your nose and a long breath out through your mouth.
Just notice if you're clenching your jaw,
If you need to soften your shoulders a bit.
And just let your hands rest heavy.
There is nothing you need to do here,
Just arrive in this space.
Intuition is not a thought and it's not something you need to figure out.
It is your body's immediate honest response to something before your mind has time to explain it.
It's simple,
It's quick,
It's consistent.
What makes it confusing is that your mind comes in straight after and starts adding layers and reasons,
Doubts,
Stories,
Narratives.
We try and rationalise things instead of trusting ourselves.
And most people don't trust their intuition not because it isn't there,
But because they didn't stay with it long enough to recognise it.
So I'm going to ask you to bring your attention into your body,
Not thinking about it,
But actually feeling it.
That movement of your breath,
The rise and fall,
The contact between your body and the surface beneath you.
And you might notice how quickly your mind wants to move,
Jumping to thoughts,
To plans or conversations.
And I'm not asking you to stop any of that,
Just notice it and gently come back to the feeling of being here.
And with every exhale,
Allow a little more space so something quieter can come through.
Just be present in your body.
And now silently begin repeating the sound,
SO HUM,
SO HUM.
Just let it follow the natural rhythm of your breath.
Your breath might change,
It might become slower or faster.
However it moves,
Just observe it.
And if your attention drifts to thoughts or sounds or sensations,
Simply return to the mantra in the same soft way.
And we're going to be here together with this mantra for about four minutes.
SO HUM,
SO HUM,
SO HUM.
Now I'm going to ask you to bring your awareness into your centre,
Just below your chest,
Around your stomach.
This is your gut.
This is where that first response lives.
Now just stay here and notice what is already present.
Maybe a sensation,
A pull,
A tension,
A stillness.
Imagine this space as something responsive,
As if it naturally leans towards what feels right for you and pulls away from what doesn't.
You're not trying to make anything happen,
You're just learning how your intuition speaks to you.
Just listen to your body,
To your gut.
And now bring your awareness up through the centre of your body and into the space between your eyebrows.
And just place your attention there and let it rest.
This is your third eye chakra,
The part of you that sees clearly without needing to work it out.
And this space can feel crowded,
Full of thoughts,
Questions.
And that's what creates confusion.
So just notice that for a moment,
The usual noise.
And with your next exhale,
Imagine that noise dropping slightly.
It's not disappearing,
But just step back enough to create space.
And I want you to imagine a deep indigo light beaming out of you in this space.
This is the colour of your third eye chakra.
And from this space,
You can try to recognise the difference between a thought and a knowing.
A thought feels like it's building something and explaining,
Justifying,
Going in circles.
And a knowing is immediate,
It's already there,
It doesn't need to prove itself.
So just stay here and feel that difference.
You might notice a subtle sensation in this space,
Maybe a light pressure,
A warmth,
Or just a sense of awareness.
You also might feel nothing at all,
And that doesn't matter.
What matters is the quality,
Simple,
Quiet and direct.
Your knowing is intuition.
It's the body's signal.
And with practice,
It can be noticed clearly and quickly.
So I want you to ask yourself a question and let it land deeper than your thoughts.
Who am I?
Who am I when I am not performing,
Pleasing,
Or proving anything?
Who am I?
Let that question move through your body and just notice what comes back.
Not as a sentence,
But as a feeling,
A sense,
Something you recognise.
Just stay with it for a few breaths.
Who am I?
And now bring to mind something real in your life.
A decision,
A situation,
Something you've been going back and forth on.
Hold it lightly and bring it into your body.
Notice what happens in your centre.
Does it open or contract?
Does it feel lighter or heavier?
Does it draw you in or push you away?
And at the same time,
Notice the space between your eyebrows.
Does everything feel clearer or more complicated?
Simpler or tangled?
You're not going to rush here.
This is where your intuition actually speaks.
And I really want you to recognise it.
The feeling.
The reaction.
And ask yourself one last question.
If I trusted my intuition,
My inner knowing completely,
What would I do next?
And let one simple,
Honest action come through.
Not the perfect one.
Not the one your thoughts are telling you.
But the real one.
Don't build a plan around it.
Just notice it.
And then imagine yourself doing it.
Really visualise this.
How you'd move,
How you'd speak.
How you'd carry yourself.
Feel the difference when you act when there is less noise.
Less second guessing.
And more certainty.
Just stay with that for a few breaths.
And let it settle into your body.
Then gently let the image go and come back to your breath.
Back to your body,
Back to the room.
Take a deeper breath in and a long breath out.
And just notice the sounds around you.
The air on your skin,
The support beneath you.
And before you open your eyes,
I just want to remind you that your intuition is not something you need to find.
It's something you need to stop overriding.
It has been there the whole time.
And you are simply learning how to listen to it.
So when you feel ready,
You can slowly open your eyes and just take a moment to notice how you feel.
And I hope that you can take this feeling of clarity,
Of connection with you.
And trust that this is a practice.
And it is something that you can come back to whenever you need.
Thank you so much for meditating with me today.
It has been an absolute pleasure to guide you.
