Week 2,

Touch.

Let's begin by closing our eyes and taking a few breaths,

Just simple normal breaths.

What does it feel like to breathe?

And turning our attention to the skin,

I wonder what sensations you can notice with the skin.

Noticing the difference in sensation between the skin exposed to the air and the skin underneath your clothing.

Offering your attention to the skin on different parts of your body,

The skin on your feet,

The skin on your hands,

The skin on your back,

And on your whole body.

Noticing that your skin is the threshold between you and the world around you.

Holding out your hands in front of you,

I wonder what it feels like to hold the air in your hands.

Letting it slip through your fingers.

What does this feel like?

Perhaps also taking time to notice how the air might be holding you as well.

And bringing the hands gently together,

What does it feel like when skin touches itself?

Perhaps tracing your fingertips along the palm and the back of the hand.

Noticing the smallest sensations.

And allowing the hands to hold each other.

What does it feel like to hold your own hand?

With those same hands,

Perhaps exploring some of the textures that you are carrying with you today.

Perhaps your clothing or your hair or a piece of jewelry that you might be wearing.

Just offering your full attention to what that experience at the threshold of your skin feels like as it encounters the world.

And taking time to explore the world immediately around you through this sense of touch.

Just reaching your hands out.

What can you feel?

What can you feel?

Perhaps breathing into your hands.

I wonder what it feels like when breath encounters the skin.

Perhaps breathing into your hands.

As we come to the end of this exploration,

Just take a few minutes to simply be here.

Noticing what it feels like to be in your body in this place and in this moment.

Class guard,

We need that.

.

.

Simply noticing what it feels like to be here.

Perhaps a story will arise from the body.
