Week 4,

Sight Let's begin by taking a few breaths,

Just normal,

Simple breaths.

What does it feel like to breathe?

And turning our attention to the eyes,

I wonder what sensations you can notice with your eyes.

Simply taking a look around,

Allowing each thing to have its place.

Let your vision wander slowly,

Taking in the details of each glance.

Let your mind wander slowly,

Taking in the details of each glance.

Let your mind wander slowly,

Taking in the details of each glance.

As you look around,

I wonder how many colors you can see,

Letting your attention drift from one color to the next.

Perhaps also noticing the ways that the light might change the colors of things.

How many shades of one color can exist in each moment?

And as you look around,

I wonder how many shapes you can see.

I wonder if perhaps those shapes taken together may form patterns.

And whether those patterns attract your gaze.

As you look around,

I wonder if you can sense that the world around you is moving.

I wonder what are the big movements that you can see.

I wonder what the most delicate movements are that you can see.

I wonder what you can see that is furthest away from your body right now.

If you were to focus your vision,

I wonder how far into the distance you could see.

And I wonder what you can see that is closest to your body.

I wonder if you could see that if you were to focus your vision,

What are the smallest details that you can observe?

Perhaps gazing at your own hands,

Bringing them closer and closer to your eyes.

I wonder what details you can see in the hands.

Details that you might have never noticed before.

And perhaps gazing deeply in this way with a being who is near you,

Whatever it might be.

How much can you see when you get as close as you possibly can?

And now relaxing your vision,

Letting go of focus.

And instead,

Gently gazing at the world around you.

I wonder what the world looks like when you're not looking at anything in particular,

Just gazing at the whole.

And awakening our imaginations,

Resting in this soft gaze.

I wonder if perhaps you can sense that everything that you are seeing might also be seeing you.

That you are not an observer in this place,

But a part of it.

That you are seen.

And now closing the eyes.

I wonder what you can see when your eyes are closed.

As we come to the end of this exploration,

Take a few moments to simply be here.

Noticing what it feels like to be in your body,

Here in this place,

And in this moment.

Okay.

Simply noticing what it feels like to be here.

Perhaps a story will arise from the body.

And if a story does arise,

Then perhaps just noting it in your journal for later.

In closing,

Let's take one more breath.
