This live event recording focuses on opening ourselves up to receive, while releasing the fearful reaction that wants to push away. There is a softness in all experience, that carries with it a profound lesson that draws us nearer to the truth. The question is, are we open to see it. If not, no worries. The lesson will come back around again. No judgment, just the way of things. This is Love, constantly knocking on the door of our hearts.

You're listening to an InLight Connect podcast.

In many,

Many,

Many ways,

It could be the most incredibly offensive thing to say that everything is for you.

You could see how that might bother someone.

As we have been through numerous things in this life that we have rejected,

That we have become convinced that it was the complete opposite.

That it was not something for you,

But it was something against you.

Today we are going to take some time and really dig deep into the nature of this topic.

Everything is for you.

And my apologies in advance for any misunderstanding.

Welcome to Kess Guides Meditation Spiritual Musings.

The format today as usual,

A short guided meditation and then some spiritual musings.

I will ramble about the topic today.

And then I invite you to save your questions and tell the question period.

And then we can dialogue.

Do you see how easy it is to assume life is about something other than the discovery of what is true?

It's so incredibly easy for the mind to become hypnotized by its own content,

To believe its own stories,

And to distract itself from the real opportunity.

And naturally this real opportunity is not something that you can be told.

It's not something you can read about.

It is something that you see deeply within yourself.

And I feel one of the best ways to describe that is a radical self honesty with your human experience.

And I love this inquiry in my own life.

Those moments when I start thinking about this play of being human,

This journey that I've been on,

All of these experiences that I've had,

And I ask myself,

What has been the point of all of this?

Why this and why that?

And I can see yesterday's interpretation would have been,

Well,

I was trying to get to this and trying to get to that.

And in the honesty of my own inquiry,

I can see very clearly that I never actually got there.

Wherever I thought I was going in this life,

Whatever I thought I was about to capture,

Whatever I thought I did capture,

All of it has disappeared.

All of it has shown itself to be ephemeral in nature,

Ungraspable.

And in the beauty of that recognition,

I see what I am left with in the recognition that there was nothing to hold on to.

I find myself left with a presence,

A profound appreciation for life itself,

Which I can understand for the one who's unfamiliar,

That doesn't make much sense.

But maybe one way you can look at this is to see that all of your difficulty in the human life has been a difficulty sprung from an attempt to capture something.

Sprung from a movement of wanting.

And you can see that in a profound recognition that there is nothing to capture.

You can maybe see how there's no more problem.

There's nothing to go get.

There's nothing that's missing.

And it's in this recognition that nothing is missing where love really begins to flow.

And I'm not speaking to a particular form of human love,

Which is often intertwined with silly ideas of possessiveness and fear of love's loss.

I'm speaking to a much more pure love.

And again,

It's something that is seen for one's own experience.

And maybe in a way to point to it outside of any romantic idea would be to say it's a profoundly deep appreciation.

And surely you've experienced this in some way or another.

Maybe even out of nowhere,

You're hit by a profound sense of appreciation.

And the more deep this appreciation goes,

You find that it's not an appreciation for this or for that,

But it's appreciation for the whole damn thing.

Something inside says,

Wow,

Aren't you beautiful?

Do you see how this love that I'm pointing to is almost like a depth of honoring?

Where something inside of you is willing to bow.

Something inside of you celebrates.

And as far as I'm concerned,

The interpretation within my being for all things spiritual throughout the history of mankind has been pointing to an opportunity to connect with such a love.

In so many ways,

Pointed to by saying to wake up to the truth of what you are,

To wake up to what's actually real.

To see that nothing is missing,

To see that you are whole,

To see that you are untouched by this world,

To see that you cannot lose anything.

To see that death is imaginary.

And naturally when one recognizes this,

There is an aroma that blooms from your being.

And in some way or another,

It smells of love.

And I guess because I don't have you here for a week to adequately explain these things,

I guess I can just say directly and you can let it sit wherever it sits.

But throughout the history of articulating such truths,

It's been said in one way or another that the entirety of the universe,

Everything that happens,

Happens so that this truth might be seen.

That this experience of being human is about the opportunity of waking up.

The experience of life itself is so that life can see life.

For when you see the truth of these things,

Your heart begins to smile in a way that everything makes sense now.

Oh yeah.

And naturally this is where we find one's heart becomes devoted to such a discovery.

Where one loses interest in the mind's conditioned idea of becoming this or becoming that,

Which is only moved by a fear of not being enough.

One loses interest in amassing or attaining things in the world.

One's heart becomes focused on discovering a depth of truth,

An openness to see what is real and to let go of what is not.

And as it relates to the subject of everything is for you,

Let's look at this something that we will call everything.

From a foundation standpoint,

It's important to recognize that what you experience as a human being,

That which touches you on the inside,

That which creates every emotional experience,

That which is the world you experience is created through how you see.

In such a way that if love is experienced,

It's because love is seen from behind your eyes and from the depth of your heart.

Understand this,

It's not because there is something called love out there.

It is seen from the inside and then projected outward.

The love experienced is a love that is seen from the inside out.

Likewise,

Any lack of love,

The same applies.

The lack of love that one experiences is to only experience the perceiving of a lack of love.

When one experiences what could be characterized as love being lost or missing,

Do you see that what they are experiencing is their own projection of such a thing?

And you've experienced this throughout your whole life.

Notice the play of judgment,

Like you see another person who doesn't come from where you come and they have a completely different pattern of conditioning,

Race in a completely different environment.

They're different from you and there can be a conditioned movement of judgment that says,

Oh,

They're different.

I'm going to not extend love to them.

Have you ever had such an experience?

Yes,

You have.

You're a human being.

And likewise,

You've had the same experience where you actually met someone and listened to them,

Became open to them.

And your judgment began to fade and love began to emerge.

You see nothing on the outside ever changed.

What changed is what you saw.

This discovery,

Your experience,

Your life as a human being is so profoundly intimate inside of your own being.

To such a degree,

I would say that everything that is real,

Everything that actually exists in life exists inside of you.

You only imagine things to be outside of you.

And the more one sees this,

I invite you to recognize how quickly you begin to let go of what is perceived to be out there.

To let go of a blame that blames others for denying you love.

To let go of the world.

To let go of a blame for the world that says it should be or shouldn't be.

From a very practical,

And maybe for some more down to earth,

You can see the practicality in this where you experience something and then you can either perceive it in a way that says this is for me,

Like it's a gift,

Or you can perceive it in a way that says this is against me.

Just notice the subtle difference in that and understand again what you're experiencing is how you're interpreting.

If one interprets in a way that says this is against me,

What happens?

You get defensive.

You put up walls,

Barriers.

You push away.

You protect,

All based off of an interpretation.

See the power of that in such a way that your whole being transforms into an environment of defensiveness,

Into an environment of pushing away based on a simple interpretation that says this is against me.

Almost as if you create a line of separation.

The line of separation that says I am experiencing something that is outside of me and that something outside of me can come get me.

To perceive it in such a way that says this is for me,

Do you see the openness that emerges?

The welcoming?

Gratitude?

And granted,

I understand there can be the potential difficulty that says I don't understand how this could be for me.

That's understood.

What I'm inviting you to see,

Principally speaking,

Is that regardless if you see it or not,

It's the nature of everything.

That there cannot even exist something that's against you because you are the creator of it.

The opportunity is to,

In some way or another,

See the interworkings of this reality,

The point of it all.

And to understand the nature,

The point,

Is to see that everything serves such an awakening.

Everything.

And so in many ways it doesn't matter what my mind thinks about it.

It doesn't matter if my mind likes it or doesn't like it.

If it is,

Then it's here to serve awakening.

And how could it possibly serve if it's something that you don't like?

If it's something that appears to threaten you?

Appears to threaten what you're holding on to?

And I guess to illustrate it,

I look at my life and I see that everything that has disturbed me,

Everything that has pissed me off,

Has been in some way watching the collapse of my imaginary sense of separate self-importance.

Everything that has disturbed me in some way or another was me having to face the truth that I could not hold on to this.

See if you can recognize that in your experience.

That everything that has bothered you,

What has bothered you in some way or another,

You've seen the truth that you cannot hold on to what you want.

To expose the truth that life is not going to reorganize itself so that you can keep hiding from the truth.

You see,

These are the moments of our most profound life discoveries which naturally tend to come through painful experiences,

Uncomfortable experiences.

And what are those experiences other than having to face the truth?

And in facing the truth,

We get incredibly honest and we let go of what is not true.

In such a way,

It can be said,

And I guess hear me gently here,

If anything disturbs your wellness,

Your peace,

Your joy,

Your love,

You're holding on to something that's simply not true.

Very gently,

There's a confusion about what's real,

Which sort of paints a picture where the human being is on this journey of aligning themselves with what is true,

Which is also to say aligning yourself with the love that you crave.

And your human experience as it is now,

Where you are now,

What you see in your life is perfectly designed to facilitate your awakening.

And this is often a great difficulty for the human being because they imagine themselves as so distant from where they're supposed to be.

They compare themselves with others and fantasize some sort of distance,

Not realizing you are literally exactly where you're supposed to be in order for the truth to expand.

And I understand any potential of not seeing that or getting it.

I've seen such a confusion in my own experience numerous,

Numerous times.

And the great comedy of that is,

In my experience,

The real moment such a love begins to bloom and show itself becomes more accessible the more I see I'm exactly where I'm supposed to be.

Of course,

To see yourself as exactly where you're supposed to be,

There's a tremendous openness that emerges that says,

Okay,

This is where I am.

What's going on?

What's happening?

What's real?

What's true?

And I guess I'm inviting a willingness from within the being that allows the recognition that everything you are experiencing is here to support your connection with what you crave.

Because,

Again,

If there's something disturbing you,

The nature of that disturbance is that you're seeing the truth and you don't like it.

The disturbance in some way or another is a withholding of love.

Right?

We see this happen all the time in our interactions with other people where we think they have something that we want.

And because we think they have something we want,

We start to use love as a weapon.

Like,

I'll love you if.

Do you see how that automatically withholds love,

Which is so funny.

It's like you're trying to get to love by withholding love.

And one just has to look in their own experience and ask,

How's that going?

And to see that it never works.

The path of allowing more love to flow in your life is a path that requires you to see where you are withholding love.

And this is where we come full circle on everything is for you,

Because the things that you think that are not for you are the things that are exposing where you withhold love.

You could say that the things aren't for me if they piss me off.

But you can see actually it's the opposite.

To be disturbed is the doorway into seeing what's true.

Have you noticed in your life,

The more you heartfully understand something,

Which in a way is like saying the more there is a compassion,

The more there is an openness,

The more love you begin to see.

The more you realize,

Oh,

It's not what I thought it was.

It's safe to love.

Oh,

It's not what I thought it was.

It's safe to let go.

Oh,

It's not what I thought it was.

I don't need to worry.

This is what happens as you connect with the truth of things.

You see that there's nothing to be feared.

And from a disclaimer standpoint,

This topic,

Everything is for you.

In the most real way,

I'm talking to myself.

I could never actually say that to another person.

Knowing that ultimately I'm just talking to myself.

And so I invite you to recognize this,

That the opportunity to be here together and to inquire into that,

You're hearing me talk to myself and maybe you can resonate inside of your own being and you see it for yourself.

And I say this and bring it up because it can be so easy to try and interject what you think you know about other people rather than just loving other people.

It's like somebody comes into their experience,

It's all pissed off and then your mind says,

Oh,

Well,

Tiger said everything's for you.

So I'm just going to tell them that everything's for them.

No,

No,

No,

No.

Because I'll tell you,

If somebody comes into your experience,

That's pissed off.

Guess what?

It's for you.

You see how you can try and get rid of it by trying to tell them.

You see your entire human experience is determined by what you see.

If you see reasons to withhold love,

You will feel a withholding of love.

In my own experience,

The only times I withhold love in some way or another is when my ego is being threatened.

And I so invite you to just see that it's not a problem.

It's not that you're doing something wrong.

Just see that.

It's so much fun to watch because it's not a serious thing.

Just recognize,

Oh my God,

When I feel like my self-importance is being threatened,

When who I think I am is being challenged,

Which also goes with everything I think I want or don't want.

When that gets threatened,

I start using love as a weapon,

Not realizing that I'm just doing it to myself.

Isn't that funny?

You think you're withholding love from another human being.

Who are you withholding it from?

You.

Because of a very innocent misunderstanding that believes I am something that I am not.

And I am protecting something that is entirely imaginary,

That will never be real.

That's incredibly sweet.

And even if there's something in you that thinks you're over ego,

Just stop.

Silly.

See if there's an openness to see the play of ego without any judgment.

Because that can be the popular spiritual thing to do,

Is try and get over an ego.

I invite you to see the innocence of it all.

That the ego is a very natural misunderstanding of being human.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.

Ego begins to settle down.

The more one's heart becomes open to the truth,

Which oftentimes comes after we exhaust ourselves in the world trying to satisfy the ego.

Sooner or later,

Something inside of you realizes that this is impossible.

And the more you see that it's impossible,

You very naturally lose interest in the ego's game.

It's a very natural unfolding.

And I'll tell you something,

That which leads to this surrendering of the ego is by way of having the ego get disturbed.

You see how it's like full circle here,

Where everything is for you.

We could say,

Oh,

I don't want my ego to be disturbed,

And so I'm going to avoid.

Which doesn't allow for the ego to be disturbed,

Which sees something as against you.

It's like someone has a spiritual insight and they run away to a cave and says,

Okay,

I just want to be in this spiritual thing.

Not realizing that there's a very beautiful integration into life,

Into being human,

That comes by way of being disturbed.

And so I invite you to discover a willingness within yourself that says,

Okay,

I'm willing to see where I don't let love flow.

Since this love is the only thing that I crave in some way or another,

I'm willing to see how I create a lack of love while at the same time letting everybody else off the hook.

And recognize there's a total experiential accountability that says,

I am only experiencing the one that I am.

That's all I can experience.

I cannot experience anything outside of what I am.

In this,

What I am is the creator of everything that I experience.

And so let me get intimate with that.

What am I creating?

And if I am experiencing a lack of love,

Then I'm with fear.

Okay,

What am I afraid of?

And what you're afraid of in some way or another is losing who you think you are.

To illustrate in a way,

We can say that human beings are intent on trying to be God rather than allowing God to be God.

And I think from a spiritual context,

Such a language points nicely to what I'm saying.

If you can look at all of your difficulty in your human experience,

You know,

Trying to control things,

Make them like this and not like that,

You can see that's you trying to be God.

This is,

I know how it should be or how it shouldn't be.

Even the comments we make about other people,

Oh,

There are too much of this,

Not enough of that.

See how that's trying to be God?

And the more you see the nature of what's true,

In a way,

Spiritually speaking,

You see that there is already this supreme control from God where everything is doing exactly what it's supposed to be doing to serve the truth.

And in that there's literally nothing for you to do,

But to enjoy the show with an openness and a heart of devotion that in so many ways is willing to surrender itself to the truth.

Thanks for letting me talk to myself.

This was definitely one of the most helpful talks/meditations that I have listened to on Insight Timer. Worth a hundred stars to me at this time of my life. There were parts that I didn’t quite understand and I am sure those parts will become clear to me when I listen again (and again, if necessary). From the bottom of my heart I thank you for this sometimes hard to listen to talk. Bless you for sharing yourself with us. 🙏🙏❤️❤️ losing my husband of 63 years had been so difficult because I miss his presence. I have lost my father, my mother and my sister but nothing compares to the loss of my husband. 💔
