Sacred Sound Yoga is a pathway of exploration of consciousness through the medium of sound. The human body is like a musical instrument expressing different frequencies and rhythms. It responds to different sound frequencies and undergoes changes to heartbeat, breath, and brain physiology. The aim of sacred sound yoga is to bring the body into alignment with its natural vibration. It is a journey through sound to the realms of the mystic and an understanding of consciousness

Namaste friend,

Welcome to sacred sound yoga,

A pathway of exploration of consciousness through the medium of sound.

The human body is like a musical instrument,

Expressing different frequencies and rhythms.

It responds to different sound frequencies,

Undergoing changes to heartbeat,

Breath and brain physiology.

While doing sacred sound yoga,

We request that you sit comfortably in a chair with your back upright or sit cross-legged on the floor.

Sacred sound yoga is traditionally defined as meditation.

In its fullest sense,

Sacred sound yoga is a form of prayer,

Using our voice and body as a tool for self-realization.

Hindu spirituality has documented the effect of sound on maintaining health and wellbeing for thousands of years.

In the West,

People are more drawn to the asana tradition or posture type of yoga,

Which is the most popular and not the meditation side,

As this appeals to the physically oriented culture of the Western mind.

Yoga traditionally defines itself as meditation,

Not as asana,

Which is taught merely as an aid to meditation.

The knowledge of the chakra system has been recorded and passed on by India's yogis and permeates Hindu culture and tradition.

Inside the human body are millions of these tiny whirling vital life forces,

Intensely concentrated into centers called chakras.

Chakra is a Sanskrit word for wheel.

Every thought,

Action and intention influences the sensitivity and performance of the chakras.

They are subtle energy centers,

Rotating clockwise at specific frequencies.

Each chakra is designed to supervise and maintain the perfect operation of each center.

They can also be seen as milestones or archetypal depictions in our spiritual evolution through seven major stages of development.

Sacred sound yoga is based on the relationship between the musical notes and the chakras.

When the frequency of the notes and chakras are in sync,

By a process called entrainment,

An optimal flow of spiritual energy is established.
