Tapping—also known as EFT tapping—is a mind‑body technique where you gently tap on specific acupressure points on the face and upper body while focusing on an emotion, thought, or physical sensation. It’s based on the idea that stimulating these meridian points helps calm the nervous system and reduce the body’s stress response. People often pair the tapping with simple phrases that acknowledge what they’re feeling, which helps the brain process the emotion more effectively. Many find that after a few rounds, the intensity of stress, anxiety, or discomfort noticeably decreases.

So what is tapping?

Tapping is an energy psychology technique that uses exposure to situations and emotions that we have within our bodies,

As well as the thoughts that we experience through those emotions.

As well as using tapping acupressure points that activate the meridians within the body.

So tapping is a holistic approach that really incorporates this holistic perspective.

And with that,

It is incredibly powerful because we are looking at incorporating every aspect of ourselves.

We're no longer looking now just at the brain and our mental capacities or how we experience emotions in our bodies.

We are looking at how all of these things are interconnected,

Interchangeable,

And how they interact with each other.

So tapping assumes that the uncomfortable emotions that we feel in our lives.

Get stored in the body.

And any of those uncomfortable emotions that are unresolved really get stored in our thought patterns.

In the ways that we express those emotions,

As well as the way it shows up somatically for us.

So all difficult emotions essentially are a disruption in the flow of information between the body,

The emotions,

And the brain.

And that is essentially what tapping is.
